The Ford Flex is often plagued by an issue where the buttons on the center console stop working. This usually occurs due to a loose or damaged wiring harness connected to the buttons. To resolve this problem, you must take out the center console and inspect the wiring connected to each button to ensure it is secure and undamaged. Additionally, it's essential to check the fuse panel under the driver's side dashboard to rule out any damaged fuses that could be causing issues with the system.

In the 2012 Ford Flex, there are recurring issues with the center console display going dark, resulting in the radio and heat functions becoming unresponsive. Additionally, the interior signal lights may stop working while the exterior ones continue to function. The push buttons on the console may also intermittently fail to work. Warning lights such as service advance trac, door ajar, and low tire pressure indicators may illuminate during these episodes. The driver panel's light remains on constantly when this problem occurs. The malfunctions persist for up to five days before resolving temporarily, only to reoccur later.

If the buttons on the central control panel of your Ford Flex are unresponsive, it may be caused by a defective wiring harness or may necessitate a complete reset carried out through the touchscreen interface. An easy and frequently used solution is to swap out both fuse 16 and fuse 14.

In cold weather, my 2010 Flex experiences specific issues: 1) the center stack is blank with no heat or radio controls, 2) a service advance trac message appears, 3) the traction control light comes on, 4) the brake light illuminates, and 5) the turn signals don't show inside but work outside. It's possible these problems share a common cause, like a faulty module or a cracked solder joint on a circuit board that contracts in the cold. It's surprising that this issue hasn't been resolved, as many other Flex owners seem to have similar problems.

I wish someone could figure this out and give a solution. It's not a problem with the fuse - it operates normally when it's warmer outside, but the screen goes blank when it's colder. It appears that the cold weather may be causing a metal connection to contract and lose its connection. It might be related to the control board. I really hope we can find a solution soon!

Regina, have you managed to identify what the problem is? My vehicle is experiencing the same issue, and my mechanic is baffled by it.
