The main problem with a keyless entry system is when the battery in the key fob dies. All key fobs use a CR2032 battery, which is a small coin-shaped battery that typically costs around $5 each. You can buy them at the same place where you get regular batteries. To replace the battery, you will have to take off the back panel of the fob. The process may vary depending on the type of fob you have. Some fobs can be easily opened by pulling down on the back panel, while others may require removing a couple of tiny screws. These screws are not difficult to remove as long as you have a small enough screwdriver.
The primary problems with the Volkswagen (VW) and its remote key are the key fob's battery dying and the key fob becoming unlinked from the car.
