The primary electrical issues found in the 2003 Honda Element are typically due to the battery draining because of high power consumption from the computer system. Ensure the dome light is switched off, have your radio code handy, and be prepared to reset the driver's window. Begin by disconnecting the negative battery terminal and place a VOM, set to milliAmperes (mA), between the battery post and terminal. Remove the radio fuse to eliminate any draw on the battery from the clock and radio code memory, and remember its placement for later reinstallation. Proceed to remove the remaining fuses one by one while someone monitors the meter. If removing a fuse causes a drop in the reading, you've identified a potential source of the parasitic draw. Keep in mind that there are two fuse boxes, one under the dashboard and another under the hood.
