To reset the security system of a 2004 Honda Accord, mimic starting the engine by turning the key in the ignition. Leave the key in the ON position for 10 minutes without opening any doors. Once the security light turns off, turn the ignition off and start the vehicle. If the car starts, the system is reset; if not, retry the process. If the system is tripped by the panic button, press the unlock button on the key fob twice to deactivate it. Alternately, exit the vehicle, ensure all doors and windows are shut, lock the driver's door with the key, walk 10 feet away with the key fob, and wait for 15 minutes before trying to restart the car.
To reprogram the security system in your 2004 Honda Accord, you need to use the car key in the driver's side door lock. Turn the key first to unlock, then to lock, and then back to unlock one more time to disable the alarm. After that, start the engine and let it run for 10 minutes to complete the reset process.
Bypass the security system of a Honda Accord without needing the key.
I've attempted multiple times, but it's not working. Could the issue be caused by a low battery?
Hello Benjamin. I'm currently dealing with a 2004 Accord coupe. The green key light keeps flashing, and the reset method didn't fix the issue for me. I ended up having to take out the chip from the engine control unit (ECU). Seems like a faulty immobilizer, despite already replacing the ignition.
Hello Matt, how did you manage to extract the chip from the ecu? My car broke down on me yesterday and I think this might be the issue.
My vehicle can't be put into gear unless I use the trans unlock feature because the security light and hazard lights won't stop flashing.
Which microchip did you extract from the electronic control unit (ECU)?
Which specific chip did you take out from the ECU?
I installed a new starter on my 2004 Honda Accord LX, and now it stalls when I come to a full stop. What could be causing this problem?
