In 2010, the Honda CR-V offered Bluetooth solely as an option in the EX-L trim model, with the other trims lacking this feature. Back then, Bluetooth technology in cars wasn't as widely adopted as it is today, so not every new car had it. In the top trim CR-V, Bluetooth could be used for hands-free calling and as an audio source, allowing users to connect their smartphone or Bluetooth-enabled MP3 player to the car's speakers and microphone. By 2012, it seems that Bluetooth became available on all CR-V trims following an update to the infotainment system.
