The 2019 Honda CR-V is equipped with engine start-stop technology, which automatically turns off the engine when the vehicle stops completely and stays idle for a few seconds. When the driver presses the accelerator, the engine restarts. This system is straightforward and some believe it can reduce gas consumption by 3-5% in stop-and-go traffic. Unlike cold starts, stop/start systems are less likely to cause damage since the engine is already warmed up. In addition, these vehicles use electric water pumps to keep the engine temperature at the optimum level when stopped.
Is it possible to disable the idle start-stop feature in the 2019 Honda CR-V?
Does the 2019 Honda CR-V come equipped with engine start-stop technology?
The 2019 Honda CR-V does not come equipped with the engine stop-start feature; this feature was only included in the 2020 model.
You can switch it off, but whenever you finish driving, park the car, and shut off the engine, the feature automatically turns back on! It's definitely frustrating, to say the least!
