The Chevy Spark can only be flat towed if it has a manual transmission. If it has an automatic transmission, it cannot be flat towed unless you lift all the wheels off the ground. If you have an automatic transmission, the only other option for towing is to use a dolly that raises the front wheels off the ground, allowing the car to be towed by a truck. The reason you can't flat tow a vehicle with an automatic transmission is that you can't put it in neutral to allow the front wheels to move freely. With a manual transmission, you can put it in neutral, allowing the wheels to rotate freely on the axles.
It varies. Flat towing is only possible with models equipped with a manual transmission. If the car has an automatic transmission, flat towing is not an option.
