The Cadillac XT4 features a small yet potent 2.0-liter 4-cylinder turbocharged engine, delivering 237 horsepower and 258 lb-ft of torque, with a towing capacity of up to 2,500 pounds. However, flat towing is not recommended for this vehicle, nor is using it for recreational hauling behind a camper. Most automatic transmissions can incur significant damage if a vehicle isn't designed for flat-towing. The XT4's all-wheel-drive (AWD) system prevents it from being towed by a truck with its wheels on the ground. During towing, the drive wheels should be lifted off the ground for safety. In AWD vehicles, all wheels contribute to driving, and the XT4 should be transported on a flatbed trailer. Furthermore, due to the XT4's drivetrain design, keeping all four wheels on the ground for extended periods can cause the transmission to operate without proper lubrication, leading to further damage.
Unfortunately, you cannot tow Cadillacs behind a dinghy, but you can opt for the Lincoln Nautilus 2.7 L and flat tow it instead. Quite a foolish move by GM!
I'm not sure about that.
No, the Cadillac XT4 was not engineered for flat towing.
