The 2004 Lincoln Navigator requires dexron iii transmission fluid and holds 16 quarts. To change the fluid, start by ensuring the car is parked level and opening the hood. Locate the transmission fluid reservoir near the transmission and find the dipstick. Remove and wipe it clean, reinsert, then check the fluid level. Use a funnel to add fluid until the reservoir is full, being careful not to overfill. Close the reservoir and you're ready to hit the road.
