The 2017 GMC Acadia originally had a 2.4L 4-cylinder engine, but GMC also gave the option to upgrade to a more powerful 3.6L V6 engine. Both models require 6 US quarts of oil, including the filter. The main difference between the engines is the type of oil needed. The standard engine calls for either 5W-20 or 0W-20 synthetic oil. For the upgraded V6 engine, you'll need to use 5W-30 oil unless you live in a cold climate, then it should be 0W-30.
All Acadia engines use the same quantity of oil, so it's simple to figure out how much you need for an oil change without having to identify your specific engine type.
