The 2012 Dodge Ram 3500 can hold about 1.873 lbs of R134-A refrigerant and around 24 ounces of Polyalkylene Glycol (PAG) oil. The refill port, located on the low-pressure side, protrudes approximately 4 inches from the top of the firewall on the passenger side of the engine compartment. When topping up the AC system, ensure the truck is running with the air conditioner set to maximum. Attach the hose to the port and begin refilling. For a thorough refill, the lines should be vacuumed to eliminate any moisture in the system. Use manifold gauges on both the high- and low-pressure ports – these are distinct sizes, so there's no need to be concerned about mixing them up.
