To swap out the back wiper blades on your Ford Escape, start by lifting the wiper arm away from the window to reveal the old blade. Position your fingers with one in between the old blade and the arm, close to the center of the setup. Push the old blade towards the window, which will detach the blade's mounting bracket from the plastic bar on the backside of the arm. It's advisable to replace your wiper blades every 6-12 months as rubber deteriorates over time, rendering it less effective. You can find a range of wiper blades at stores like Advance Auto Parts and Auto Zone, where they even offer complimentary installation services.
To begin, remove the old wiper blade by pulling the plastic cover from the bottom of the wiper arm. Raise the back wiper to reveal the old blade. Press the blade firmly towards the windshield to detach the mounting bracket. Align the new blade with the bracket and firmly snap it in place. Reattach the arm and complete the process by placing the black plastic cover back over the base.
