To reset the ECU on your 2013 Ford Focus, begin by opening the hood of your car. Find the battery and unplug the negative terminal. Leave the car untouched for an hour. Reconnect the battery, start the engine, and allow the car to run for 10 to 15 minutes without pressing the gas pedal. Next, take your car out for a regular drive, and the ECU should reset to its original settings. If this process doesn't work, you can try repeating these steps yourself or bring the car to a mechanic for assistance.
To reboot the computer on a 2013 Ford Focus, start the car, and then press down on both the brake and gas pedals for 20 seconds.
Pressing the brake and gas pedals simultaneously for 20 seconds will only reset the oil change monitor, not the computer (PCM).
After completing all the necessary tasks, I will then proceed to have my oil changed, which is something that needs to be done.
