The BCM (Body Control Module) in your Ford Ranger is responsible for managing all non-engine related functions and features of the vehicle. This includes controlling the lights, displays, and even the SRS/Airbag systems. Typically, the BCM will adjust to a component swap or new installation without issue, but occasionally it may require a reset. Depending on your Ranger's model year, you can reset the BCM by disconnecting the negative battery terminal and letting the truck sit for 10-15 minutes. However, if you have a newer model, you may need to visit a Ford service center for a reset using their specific software.
The left side has an issue on the 2015 Ford Ranger with the turn signal not functioning properly.
Unplug the negative battery terminal for 5 minutes and then reconnect it to reset the body control module.
I encountered a similar issue where Ford quoted me $1000 for a new BCM. However, I managed to discover a wiring harness on eBay for only $8.90. Now, the lights are controlled by relays receiving signals from the BCM. The high and low beams are connected directly to the battery with a fuse, making it a simple plug-and-play solution.
Can someone point me in the right direction to find a loom for my vehicle? I attempted to install LED headlight bulbs on my 2015 wildtrack, and now my low beams are not working, and the ABS and traction control lights are illuminated.
There is no supply for the injectors. I require a flowchart.
My 2014 Ford Ranger's right light is not working, I have checked everything, the bulb is not faulty, and I even tried disconnecting the battery terminal, but the light is still not working.
You must install a canbus for every LED headlight bulb in order to prevent the BCM from deactivating the low beam functionality.
Is it possible for me to reset the Body Control Module on my 2014 Ford Ranger on my own? The low beams on both sides are not functioning.
Hey Ian, could you make an introduction for me? I've come across that issue too. Thanks!
There's this dude from York who fixes BCM units. I tried to install LEDs on mine, but it didn't work out and shut down. I brought it to him, and in just an hour, he had it all sorted out.
