To replace the battery on a 2012 Chevrolet Equinox, you'll need a few tools: a flathead screwdriver, a popping tool, a 10mm deep well socket, a socket extension, and a 10mm wrench. First, lift the hood and remove the cover of the car's computer by sliding it to the right. Use the socket to unbolt the computer and slide it off to the right. This will reveal the battery underneath. Use the popping tool or screwdriver to remove the plastic piece above the battery. Then, lift up the plastic piece and unbolt the brace connected to the battery. Disconnect the terminals, lift out the old battery, and install the new one in reverse order.
