The slip indicator light in a Nissan Sentra alerts you to the traction control system being activated. This typically occurs when the vehicle's variable speed sensor (VSS) detects wheel slippage and triggers the control system to prevent accidents. If the light remains on, there is a TRAC OFF button on the main console dashboard that you can press to turn off the indicator. If the light persists or fails to turn off initially, it may indicate an issue with the engine control unit (ECU) sending inaccurate signals or, more probably, a faulty VSS unable to accurately detect sliding.
To turn off the Vehicle Stability Control (VSC) in the Nissan Sentra, press and hold the TRAC OFF button for at least 3 seconds while the vehicle is stopped. This action will activate the "TRAC OFF" and "VSC OFF" warning lights.
