Although Ford's MyKey can enhance safety for teenagers and young adults, as well as when lending out your car, it can be frustrating to have limitations on your own vehicle. Fortunately, disabling it on the 2010 Ford Escape is a straightforward process. Simply start your car and allow the onboard computer and screen to boot up. Using the display controls on your steering wheel, access the main menu, then navigate to "Settings" followed by "MyKey", and confirm by pressing "OK". Within that submenu, locate the option labeled "Clear MyKey" and select it, then press and hold "OK" for a few seconds until you see the message "All MyKeys Cleared".
To deactivate mykey on my 2010 ford escape xlt with only the dealership key.
To deactivate mykey, first use the admin key to start the vehicle. Navigate the menu screen by selecting settings until you find the reset button to remove mykey. Hold down the reset button until the message "all mykeys cleared" appears.
