There are multiple ways to access the back storage area of a Mercedes E350. One method is to use the remote by pressing the "trunk unlock" button on the right side of the key fob, which is usually marked with a trunk symbol. To close the trunk, grab the lever on the top right of the lid and press the concealed switch to secure it in place automatically as you push the lid down. To manually open the trunk further, press the left button on the fob to unlock all the doors, including the trunk. The trunk will not pop open automatically, so after unlocking all the doors, find the central latch on the trunk and press it while lifting to open. Another way to allow the trunk to open automatically is to access a switch located on the driver's side door frame. Just flip the switch to activate the automatic trunk feature. The same steps can be taken to close the trunk afterward.

If your car's trunk suddenly refuses to open, there is a switch inside the glove compartment that can lock the trunk unintentionally. If you happen to press it by mistake, the trunk will become locked and both the key fob and the button on the door will be ineffective in unlocking it.
