To turn off the TPMS light on a 2016 Kia Rio, start by inflating the tires to the recommended pressure. Look at the label inside the driver's side door to confirm the correct pressures; I believe the Rio requires 33 PSI. When inflating the tires, unscrew the valve stem cap and firmly attach the air nozzle to prevent any air from escaping. Add air gradually and use a tire pressure gauge to check the pressure. Keep adding air until the gauge shows 33 PSI. Replace the valve stem cap and check the air pressure in the other tires to ensure they are correctly inflated too. Next, go into the passenger compartment and press and hold the TPMS set button on the dashboard for around 3 seconds. The TPMS light will flash three times and then turn off.
My Kia Rio does not have a TPMS system installed.
Is this meant for a 2016 model? Because I'm having trouble locating it for that specific year.
To recalibrate the tire pressure monitoring system (TPMS) on the 2016 Kia Rio, simply hold down the pressure warning button until the TPMS indicator flashes three times. Afterwards, start the car and allow it to idle for 20 minutes before switching it off.
