In your 2003 Honda Pilot, the body control module (BCM) is responsible for preventing theft by disabling the starting system when needed. Occasionally, this may occur without cause, requiring the security system to be reset in order to start the engine. One way to address this issue is by ensuring all windows and doors are closed, exiting the vehicle, locking the driver's side door manually with the key (not the fob), and then moving at least 10 feet away. Waiting for 15 minutes may help reset the system, but in most situations, the reset process needs to be done from inside the vehicle. To do this, insert the key into the ignition as if starting the engine. When it doesn't start, leave the key in the ON position without opening the door for 10 minutes. Once the light turns off after 10 minutes, turn the ignition off and try starting the engine. If it starts, the reset was successful. If not, you may need to repeat the process.
To reprogram the security system of a 2003 Honda Pilot, you should insert the key into the driver's side door lock. Turn the key to unlock, then lock, and unlock the door again. After that, you can start the car by placing the key in the ignition and letting it run for a minimum of ten minutes.
That didn't do the trick, it suddenly made sense.
