To reset the security system in a Honda Civic, follow these steps carefully. Please be aware that the system cannot be disabled, only reset. Begin by turning the key to the on position and trying to start the engine – it will crank but not start. Leave the key in the run position and wait for approximately 10 minutes. After this time, you will notice the security light blinking and then turning off. Turn the key off, remove it, and wait for 2 minutes. The system should now be reset, allowing you to start the vehicle.
You can utilize the key fob equipped with an alarm button to deactivate both the alarm and the anti-theft system.
