To make the ESP BAS light in your Jeep turn off, you may have to reset the steering angle sensor. First, start the engine and turn the steering wheel completely to the right until it stops. Then, turn the wheel all the way to the left until it stops. Gradually bring the wheel back to the right until it's almost centered. If the light stays on, it might indicate a faulty sensor that needs to be replaced. The wiring leading to the sensor could be damaged or corroded from road salt or debris. To pinpoint the precise problem, a diagnostic scan will be necessary.
To reset the ESP BAS light on a Jeep, start by turning on the ignition without starting the engine. Turn the steering wheel fully to one side while the Jeep is off, then move it to the opposite side. Next, turn off the vehicle completely, restart it, and drive a few miles. The light should reset after that.
I did as directed and repeated the steps two times. The light turned off momentarily, but then turned back on.
I just had my tipm replaced, and now the ESP Bas symbol is showing up on the dashboard. How can I resolve this issue? Do I need to reset something?
