To reset the engine control module in a 2004 Cadillac SRX, it's quite simple to do and should only take around 17 to 20 minutes of your time. Start by sitting in your car on the driver's side and inserting the key into the ignition. Turn it to the on position without starting the engine. Then, pop the hood of your car and find the ECM inside the fuse box near the front of the engine bay. Remove the fuse and wait for approximately 12 to 15 minutes. After that time has passed, reinsert the fuse, close everything back up, and restart your engine. Your ECM should now be reset and ready to go.
To reset the ECM on a 2004 Cadillac SRX, first turn the car on without starting the engine. Then, open the hood and locate the "ECM" label on a fuse in the engine bay fuse panel. Remove this fuse and leave it out for 10 minutes before plugging it back in.
Remove the electronic control module fuse from the panel, extract it, wait for approximately 10 minutes, and then reinsert it.
Should I turn the key off when I remove the fuse?
