To clear the check engine light on the 2012 Dodge Avenger, you can easily do so in a few minutes. You'll need an OBD II scanner, available at local auto parts stores or online for around $20. After obtaining the scanner, simply turn the key to the ON position, plug in the scanner to the OBD port, and follow the on-screen instructions to erase the codes. Once completed, the light will disappear, and you'll be all set.
I removed fuses numbers 10, 14, and 33, then switched the key to the accessory mode, turned it off, and put the fuses back in. The light is no longer on.
To turn off the check engine light on a 2012 Dodge Avenger, you will have to utilize an OBD II scan tool in order to delete the code.
