To clear the check engine light on a 2008 Dodge Caliber, you need to first reset the error codes. Start by inserting the key into the ignition and turning it to the on position. Press the trip reset button on the dashboard until the trip mileage is displayed. Hold the button down for about 10 seconds, then turn the ignition on and off three times. The display will show error codes in the form of a letter followed by numbers. Look up these codes to determine the problem. Once you see "sure" on the display, press and hold the reset button to clear the error code. Keep in mind that this is a temporary fix until the underlying issue is fixed.
