First, ensure that you have a fully charged battery because the instrument cluster and ECU need to be operational. Turn the key to the ON position and check if the security light is on. Keep it in this position for 10 minutes, then turn the key off for 10 seconds. Turn the key back on: If the engine starts and the light is off, you're all set. If not, switch to the accessory position, wait another ten minutes, then turn the key off for 10 seconds. Repeat this process up to three times. This procedure should help reset the alarm on a 2007 Chevrolet Silverado with a PassKEY system.
Insert the key into the ignition and turn it to the first position, then allow ten minutes to pass. Once ten minutes have elapsed, the anti-theft system will be reset.
I completed the task, and my security light turned back on.
Spot on! Resolved all issues with my lights and door locks. Much appreciated!
