To reset the anti-theft system in a 2004 Cadillac SRX, start by putting the key in the ignition and turning it to the accessory position. Then, locate the hood release lever beneath and to the left of the steering wheel, and pull it. Exit the vehicle, leaving the driver's door open. Reach under the front center of the hood to find the secondary hood release and lift the hood. Find the engine compartment fuse box on the left side. On the back of the fuse box lid, locate the fuse labeled "THEFT." Remove the fuse and check if it's blown. Next, insert and remove the fuse three times. After removing it for the third time, reinsert it and leave it in place. This action will reset the ECM and the theft system.
