To reset the anti-theft system on a 2004 Ford Escape, first disconnect the positive terminal cable from the battery. Next, insert the key into the car and turn it to the on position before reconnecting the positive cable. Turn the key off and then back on to reset the alarm. This process will allow the anti-theft device to be reset, enabling you to start the vehicle normally. If the system was triggered by a drained battery or removing the battery, or if the pass lock sensor is malfunctioning, the anti-theft system may prevent the car from starting. In such cases, further troubleshooting or utilizing an OBD diagnostic tool may be necessary to identify and address the specific issue.
