Swapping out the fuel filter in the Ford C-Max equipped with the 2.0L TDCI can be a bit of a project, so don't hesitate to bring your car to professionals if needed. Let's get started. First, make sure you have a fluid extractor handy. Remove the connections one by one and use the provided plugs with the new filter. Loosen the bleed screws on the filter housing just a bit, attach the fluid extractor tube, and remove some diesel fuel from the housing to prevent spills. Finish unscrewing the filter lid, take out the old filter, and drain any leftover fuel. Replace the O-ring, install the new filter into the lid, and screw it back on. If possible, use a syringe or similar tool to refill the housing through the bleed screw hole. You can also use the fluid extractor to pull diesel through the new filter for priming, although it's not essential. Start your engine and enjoy the benefits of your fresh filter!
The fuel filter is situated close to the engine. Locate it and simply unscrew it in order to replace the filter.
