If you have to take out the dashboard in a Chevy S-10, it's going to be quite a task. You'll need pry tools, nut drivers, sockets, and screwdrivers to get the job done. To start, take off the glove compartment and any trim pieces on the dashboard. This will give you access to the initial screws that need to come out. Once those are out, you can start removing the panels around them. Don't forget to reach the bolts located in the footwells to detach the top part of the dashboard. Keep in mind that there are various types of clips in use, so handle them carefully to avoid any breakage.

That's not the complete freaking process of removing the dashboard, man. It's as if no one has ever removed the entire dashboard before.

To remove the dash on a Chevy S10, start by using a screwdriver to unscrew the upper screws for the knee bolster above the steering column. Then, detach the screws for the sound insulator panels underneath the dash and lower them off. Tilt down the steering column and shift the transmission lever into a low gear for better workspace. Next, remove the remaining screws from the knee bolster and take them out from the instrument panel. Finally, remove the two accessible retaining screws above the instrument cluster for the instrument cluster bezel.
