Reconfiguring the climate control settings in a 2016 Ford Fusion can be accomplished quickly and easily. It should only require about 2 to 4 minutes of your time. To do this, simply sit in the driver's seat of your car and locate the center dashboard area. Using the controls near the climate control module, simultaneously press the climate control power button and the defrost button. Next, release the buttons and press the climate control power button again. This should successfully reset the climate control system in your vehicle.
As another person inquired, should the car be running or not?
Push both the climate control power button and the defrost button simultaneously, then press the climate control power button once more.
It doesn't function in my 2016 Fusion SE. I have the 8-inch touchscreen display on the dashboard with manual buttons below. There is no air conditioning or heating coming out. The manual buttons are all unresponsive, and the only way to control the radio is either through the steering wheel or the touchscreen.
These two comments are spot on. After reading them, I immediately went outside and fixed the issue with my 2018 Fusion. The dashboard lights were on but the blower motor wasn't working. Following the advice to press the power button and defrost simultaneously did the trick. After releasing and pressing the power button again, the AC kicked in and cool air started flowing quickly. It's sweltering hot at 97 degrees in Michigan today! Much appreciated.

When I perform this reset, should my car be turned off or on?
It worked for me as well! The key modification to the suggested advice is to remember to press the rear defrost button along with the power button. I experienced similar issues where the air conditioning only blew cold air and was unresponsive to temperature changes until I set it to the maximum heat setting. After performing the reset, I could hear the actuators functioning as I adjusted the temperature settings. I appreciate you sharing this helpful tip!
The car must be powered on for this to work.
Great! Everything went smoothly. Just follow these steps: 1. Turn on the car. 2. Press and hold the Power and Defrost buttons for 3-5 seconds. 3. Press the Power button again. Your issue should be resolved. It saved me; thank you! I was really anxious that something got damaged.
Here's a paraphrased and rephrased version: "Also worked on a 2015 Fusion SE. The car was running when the reset was completed.
My air conditioner's power button is not functioning properly. Can anyone provide advice on how to troubleshoot this issue? Additionally, I am unable to adjust the volume or change radio stations. I am also unable to turn on the air using the control screen.
I own a 2018 FUSION and the air conditioning suddenly stopped working. The system powers on and makes clicking sounds, but there's no air blowing out. I checked the blower motor and it seems fine. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Please contact me at [email protected].
I also found success with this method!
