To silence the horn on a Dodge Avenger, you can disconnect the battery cables. To reactivate it, simply reconnect them. Keep in mind that the Avenger's horn is controlled by a relay. Although it is not recommended to permanently deactivate the horn, you can temporarily turn it off by taking out its fuse. To locate the relay, check for the Avenger's T.I.P.M. (Totally Integrated Power Module) in the engine bay on the driver's side. It sits in a lengthy black enclosure against the firewall, typically positioned in front of the battery. The relay will be situated underneath the fuse box. Refer to the instructions on the box's cover to identify the horn relay and remove it to disable the horn's function.
To disconnect the horn on the Dodge Avenger, press down on the steering wheel to release the horn. If the horn button is stuck, try pressing it a few times to fix the problem. Turn off the engine, shut the hood, and look for the horn. Use an adjustable wrench to disconnect the wiring connected to the battery.
Simply disconnect the power source.
