To reset the computer in a 2009 Chevy Aveo, you will need to disconnect the negative terminal of the battery. Start by opening the hood and using a wrench to loosen and remove the nut from the negative terminal without touching the battery terminal. To ensure all power is drained from the system, turn the headlights on and let them remain on for about ten to fifteen minutes. This will use up any remaining power in the unit. Once the time has passed, switch the headlights off. This process should fully drain the power, resulting in a reset of the car's computer.
