Resetting the check engine light on a 2017 Ford Escape is a straightforward task that requires an OBD II scanner tool. You can easily find this tool at most auto parts shops, typically priced around $20. To start the process, open your car door and insert the key in the ignition, turning it to the ON position without starting the engine. Next, plug the scanner into the OBD port in your vehicle and follow the prompts on the tool to reset the light.
To reset the engine light on the 2017 Ford Escape, you can do so by turning the car on and off three times.
Start the car by turning the key to the on position and simultaneously press down on the gas and brake pedals. Keep them pressed for about 30 seconds until the screen resets.
The light does not reset on its own.
If you press both the gas and brake pedals simultaneously, it will reset your oil life indicator. Avoid doing this.
