Resetting the check engine light on your 2014 Ford Escape is a simple task that can be completed in just 10 to 15 minutes. To begin, go to the front of your vehicle and secure the hood using the prop arm located on the left side of the engine bay. Locate the battery situated in the front compartment to the right of the engine. Disconnect the positive and negative terminals, then reconnect them. After starting the engine, the check engine light should be successfully reset.
The "check engine" light comes on when the computer identifies a problem with a system it manages.
