The 2019 Toyota Corolla offers blind spot monitoring as an optional feature on the SE trim, while it comes standard on the XSE trim. This is a crucial safety feature as many accidents happen when a vehicle is in another car’s blind spot. The blind spot monitoring system includes sensors located on the side mirrors and rear areas such as the bumper. These sensors will alert the driver if there is a vehicle present in their blind spot. Your blind spot is roughly when a car in the adjacent lane has its front bumper aligned with your back bumper, making it difficult for your peripheral vision to notice and register that vehicle, potentially leading to dangerous lane change mistakes.
The vehicle does not include blind spot monitoring, however, it can be opted for as an additional feature.
