The 2017 BMW X1 comes equipped with blindspot detection, part of the driver assistant package for the xDrive28i model. However, in other trim levels of the X1, blindspot detection is not included as standard or as an option. When a vehicle is in your blindspot while you're merging or changing lanes, warning lights on the side-view mirrors will flash to alert you. This feature is particularly useful in fast-moving traffic situations where quick decisions are crucial. It also proves helpful in congested traffic, allowing you to change lanes without physically checking your blind spot by turning your head. Using cameras and sensors, the warning system is designed to detect objects in your blind spot.
The blind spot warning system uses cameras or sensors to identify objects in areas that are not visible to the driver. As a result, this feature is not included in every vehicle. For instance, the BMW XI model is one of the cars that does not come equipped with this technology.
