When trouble code P2070 appears on a Chevy Uplander, it means that the engine control unit (ECU) has found the intake manifold tuning (IMT) valve to be stuck open. The ECU receives this information from a position sensor within the tuning valve actuator. If the IMT valve is stuck open due to binding, it can lead to failure. Failing to address this issue will prevent the engine from achieving its full horsepower potential. Even though there may not be any noticeable driving issues, the ECU is the only way to detect the problem with the IMT valve.
How can it be repaired?
The stored code P2070 indicates that the powertrain control module (PCM) has detected an issue with an intake manifold tuning (IMT) valve on engine bank two, which is currently stuck in the open position.
