If you own a Chevrolet Sonic, you might encounter trouble code 59, which signals a malfunction in the transmission fluid temperature sensor. This error is detected by the vehicle's computer due to a likely high voltage output issue from the sensor. As a result, your check engine light may come on. You can expect to spend between $40 and $106 on a replacement sensor. To swap out the faulty sensor yourself, start by disconnecting the battery in the engine compartment. Then, remove the transmission cover and drain the radiator fluid and transmission fluid. Unbolt the valve body cover and detach the sensor connector to replace the sensor if necessary.

The Chevy Sonic's Code 59 pertains to the driver's window. To resolve it, simply open and close the window, and the code should disappear.

I can verify that the issue is with the front driver's side window. It was behaving strangely when I attempted to close it, and then an error code appeared. After reading Caitlin's response earlier in this thread, I lowered the window, raised it again, and the error code disappeared.

We set the specified time frame for error code 59 on a 2018 Sonic. I lowered the window on the driver's side completely, then raised it, and the issue is no longer present.

I can confirm that number 59 controls the window on the driver's side, and number 60 controls the window on the passenger's side! You can make the windows go up and down with those buttons!

Error code 95 pertains to the windows, and code 59 refers to the transmission fluid sensor. The individual owns a 2018 Chevy Sonic and has experienced both of these error codes.

I can verify that for a 2017 Chevy Sonic, the issue is with the window. I experienced trouble getting my front driver side window to roll up completely - it would only go halfway and then roll back down. After managing to roll it up, I encountered code 59 when starting my car again. Through some research, I came across this website. I noticed a comment suggesting to roll the window all the way down and then back up, and the code disappeared on its own.

Enable the movement of the driver's side window in an upward and downward direction.

Oh my goodness! It actually fixed the issue! I was really concerned about error code 59 in my 2017 Spark, but when I rolled down and then back up the driver's window, code 59 disappeared completely! So relieved and delighted!
