The 2008 Ford Escape is experiencing some climate control issues. Ford issued a technical service bulletin, or TSB, on May 10, 2010 (TSP 10-8-6), addressing these problems in the 2008 and 2009 Ford Escape and Escape Hybrid, as well as the Mercury Mariner and Mariner Hybrid. The bulletin mentions possible temperature inconsistencies and fluctuations from the vents, likely due to a faulty temperature blend door actuator. To resolve this, you will need to replace the temperature blend door actuator assembly if it has the part number 8L84-19E616-EA and a date code of S30708 or earlier.
The blower fan in the 2008 model may stop working at high speeds, as some drivers have experienced. There are also complaints about the air conditioning blowing hot air and the fan motor not functioning properly.
