The primary issues reported with the 2009 Porsche Cayenne involve the cooling system, electrical system, fuel system, drivetrain, and interior accessories. Among these, drivetrain problems are particularly troublesome. Notably, the Cayenne is susceptible to sudden drive shaft malfunctions leading to aggressive shaking and loss of control. Addressing cooling system troubles can be costly, especially when the oil and coolant mix due to a faulty head gasket, necessitating its replacement. Typically, this repair ranges from $2,340 to $2,870, with labor costs making up $1,959 to $2,460 of the total. In terms of fuel system issues, the most commonly reported problem is fuel pump failure, a repair that can cost between $2,230 to $2,310, with labor expenses making up $250 to $340 of that overall cost.
Some problems frequently seen in Porsche Cayennes are related to the reliability of fuel pumps and the occurrence of uneven tire wear.
Could a problem with the electronics or computerized system in a Porsche Cayenne Tiptronic lead to transmission issues with the vehicle?
Of course not - if you're having problems with your transfer case, just let me know and there's typically an inexpensive and speedy solution available.
Can you suggest if it's a good idea to purchase a 2004 vehicle with 183,000 miles on it?
We haven't experienced many problems with our Cayenne S vehicles from 2004 and 2005, except for having to replace the drive shafts, control arm bushings, back hatch shocks, and dealing with brakes wearing out. However, the brake issue could potentially be attributed to how the vehicle is operated.
I have owned two Cayennes in the past - one with a V6 diesel engine and my current one has a V8 diesel engine. With 190,000 kilometers on the clock, I can't bear to part with it. It has been a fantastic, cost-effective performance vehicle with minimal issues. I may have to keep it until 300,000 kilometers because it's hard to find a replacement that matches up to its qualities!
I face numerous issues with my recently purchased 2013 Porsche Cayenne Diesel with 65,000 miles. Despite having all warranties, the car has been constantly in the shop due to various problems. I would advise against this car to anyone.
