I had went to several dealerships trying to trade my car in for an SUV. Someone put a bug in my ear to come to Whitten Brothers for the hail sale. Long story short the salesman M.E. Roberts took his time with me as well as his staff I was in my car the same day. Went to Hyundai on broad they didn't give me the time of day didn't even call me back. The guys at Whitten Bros in Richmond took great care of me and my family.Researched the vehicle online for months and looked at others to get the idea of what my family and I needed and wanted. Found the perfect one here online and called ahead of time to make sure it was still there. Drove over 2.5 hours to kick the tires. Wife still a bit unsure of it. Drove it then others similar on the lot. Even after a bit of confusion on my part, she had to have it.Melvin Roberts, Luther, and Jose took care of us to make sure everything was right and all were happy, even our 4 kids we brought along. (Ages 14 to 8)With the selection, quality, and price these guys have, you can't go wrong!!! I will be looking here first before my next purchase.Thank you guys for everything!!!

I purchased a new car and my salesman was Josh Turner. I had not purchased a car in almost 12 years and Josh made the difference in this car buying experience. I recently purchased a Pre-owned vehicle from Whitten Brothers at Richmond dealership. It has been a number of years since I have purchased an automobile, so I had some reservations. As soon as I came onto the lot, I heard someone say, Where have you been, Ive waiting for you. I felt like I was meeting with an old friend. With that, Mr. Melvin Roberts put me at ease. I did not purchase the vehicle that day. Mr. Roberts work with me for 3 days. He had a quiet and calm demeanor, which made my experience stress-free. The Whitten Brothers staff was friendly, helpful, knowledgeable, and most of allpatient. Thank you Whitten Brothers and especially thank you Mr. Roberts for making my experience very pleasant. I bought a 2013 Ram Crew Cab 4x4 from the used vehicle section. Found it online and called with carious questions. Decided to drive up from NC the next day and dealt with Robert King. The negotiation for price was pretty straight forward and I feel like I got a great deal. The only part of the whole thing I didn't care for was the financing sales person we dealt with after Robert was putting a hard sell on the extended warranty that I wasn't interested in, but he did get us a great rate, better than my bank, on the loan so it all worked out in the end.

Purchased a new Jeep from Matt Audet and Whiiten in Midlothian. Matt could not find exactly what I wanted so Matt recommended I order one. Jeep arrived perfect in 4 weeks and priced exactly as we agreed on. No surprises or attempts to add anything I didn't want on delivery day. If you need to buy a car in the Richmond Area, purchase from Jon Burfoot at Whitten Brothers. My wife and I were looking for a new vehicle and visited a few dealerships in our travels, two stood out above the rest. But the Whitten advantage 200,000 mile Powertrain coverage sealed the deal. As to the sales team, Jon was able to provide a complete customer experience. While he did not know all the answers to questions we asked, he was honest enough to admit that he didn't and he took the time to follow up on the questions and get us the answers. --- My only ding on Whitten was that we had to move around desks as they were crowded for the Memorial Day weekend and since Jon is relatively new he hadn't yet secured a permanent spot. **** There are other dealerships (Ford), same side of road as Whitten and across the side street where we walked in and walked out within 10 minutes because of the complete distrust and ineptitude of the sales team and there ability to raise discomfort in my Salesman barometer (wife). ****

Our Salesman was Mark Lafoon and he did an amazing job of helping us in the entire process of purchasing a new Jeep Grand Cherokee. Mark was extremely knowledgeable and made the entire process smooth and easy. The entire staff was amazing. From Willie, the sales manager, to Charlie, the finance manager, the staff was amazing. You could not have a better buying experience. They helped us get the perfect vehicle for our needs. It was all about us from the beginning until we drove off the lot with our new Jeep. We could not be happier with our new vehicle. One thing that was amazing was when we asked everyone how long had they been with Whitten, they all answered a very long time. The average was over 15 years. Having owned business during my career, that loyalty shows that the dealership cares about not only the customer but also cares about its employees. I already knew what I was looking for so when my brother found Whitten Bros has a 2015 Subaru that looked in great condition and good price range I went in to test drive it. The sales rep was very friendly and happy to help me without a pre-set appointment. Both the sales rep, Bill and the manager were very friendly and accommodating of our questions and when it came to negotiating we were able to come to an agreement I was happy with. Overall a great experience, did not feel pressured to purchase and Whitten offers great follow up service with their 4 year promise on VA state inspections and regular maintenance with a 24 hour vehicle to use while your car is being worked on. Haven't experienced these yet but compared to the other dealerships where I'd test drove used vehicles they offered no follow up service for used vehicle purchases.

What can I say other than I was able to walk away with a great certified used vehicle with a factory lift and a the monthly payment I asked for. I worked thru a new purchase of a JGC with Bob and Matt. Both were very professional, helpful and patient. I told Bob in the beginning that I was a slow buyer, and he was always very patient in responding to my questions and inquiries. I believe I probably paid more for the vehicle compared to some other dealers a few hours north of Richmond, VA, but Im OK with that. I thought Whittens offer was competitive and I feel like I also purchased a relationship with a local dealership, which I think is also important when it comes time to resolve any issues that might come up. In working, via phone, with some of these other dealers outside of Richmond, they were not nearly as helpful or professional when it came time to finalize a purchase. I also shopped some other local Richmond Jeep dealers and never even got a follow-up call from those dealers. If you are shopping in Richmond, go with Whitten.

I looked online for my next car and found a 2011 Chevrolet Traverse, all the bells and whistles. I traded my 2006 Chevrolet HHR with over 169K miles. I met with Monty Baker. Right away I knew this was an honest sales representative. He took care of me from start to finish. I had special financing needs due to poor credit and just coming out of a C-13 Bankruptcy. It took longer than usual to complete the deal, but they made it happen. I was thrilled because I did not think I had a snowball's chance in a fire of getting a loan. They did it!! If you are looking for a new or used vehicle, Monty Baker is your man. He treated me like I had a credit score of 900+ and like I had a wad of cash on me. i didn't, but he gave me the very same individual attention, never left my side and went over all the details of my purchase. No surprises, no hidden fees. he was upfront and honest and very confident that he could help me, and he did. I would recommend this dealership to anyone, especially with getting the perk of free inspections for the life of ownership.

On February 19, 2016, I purchased my second new Grand Cherokee Overland from Whitten Brothers. The first purchase was in 2012. I ordered each Jeep, and Jay Lipchak was my salesman for both purchases. He was consistently professional, knowledgeable, and helpful in answering my countless questions, and aiding me through the ordering and delivery process. Jay continuously kept me informed as to the status of my Jeeps through this process. I am 68 years old, and I have purchased 13 new cars in my lifetime. I would rate Jay as the best salesman I have worked with in purchasing a vehicle. I appreciate the fact that he pays attention to all the details involved in the process. Likewise, I have found the Service Department at Whitten Brothers to be exceptional. They, also, are professional and knowledgeable, and they are the best service department I have used in my lifetime. I think the most impressive aspect of the department is the fact that they honestly explain the work that they recommend you have done on your cars without pressuring you to get it done. I have dealt with many service departments that constantly push customers to get all work done immediately. That attitude often left me with the impression that they were more interested in making profits than honestly trying to help the customer. This doesn't happen at Whitten Brothers. They will tell you what they believe needs to be done immediately and what can be delayed for several months. I completely trust their recommendations. I strongly recommend Whitten Brothers to anyone interested in buying a car or truck.

I was looking for a new SUV to tow a boat I just purchased. I've driven a Lincoln MKx (midsize SUV) for the last few years and love it, but it didn't have the towing capacity I needed. I drove a Ford Explorer and was about to finalize a deal at Sheehy Ford but just felt the Explorer was a bit too big for my needs. The Grand Cherokee is about the only SUV smaller than an Explorer that has the capacity to tow what I needed, so I stopped at Whitten on my way to finalize the deal on the Explorer. Salesman Matt Audet met me at the door and I let him know I intended to purchase a vehicle that day, and I had all but finalized the deal for the Explorer. After a quick test drive of a 2016 Grand Cherokee Limited I knew I preferred it to the larger Explorer, and it had the towing capacity I needed. After some quick negotiations with Matt and Sales Manager Willie Stewart, I was satisfied with the deal. Mike Schatzberg (Finance Director) did a very professional and thorough job of completing the financing and associated paperwork and I was out the door with my new vehicle. I left Whitten very happy with the entire experience and impressed at the ease of the process. However, after driving my new Grand Cherokee for a day or so, I realized that it didn't have some of the features I really wanted. Long story short, I rushed the process and rushed Whitten to get me out the door quicker than I should have. Suddenly, I had a case of buyer's remorse. Luckily, Whitten offers the "Whitten Advantage", which includes a 48 hour exchange policy. I emailed Matt letting him know that I might want to take advantage of the exchange policy. I expected him to react negatively and try to convince me to keep what I had just bought. His reaction was just the opposite. After a couple of emails and phone calls, I quickly realized they stood behind their policy and were committed to making sure I was totally happy with my purchase. They worked hard to find another Grand Cherokee that I liked better. When I walked back into the dealership to do the exchange, I still expected a hassle, but never got one. Willie offered a fair price on the new vehicle and Mike quickly took care of re-doing all of the paperwork and I was quickly back out the door with the vehicle I really wanted. I'm a sales professional myself and have a disdain for other sales people that I don't consider to be professionals. I know car dealers often don't have the best reputation for their sales tactics. but during my entire experience at Whitten everyone was professional, respectful and genuinely concerned that I got exactly what I wanted. It truly was the best car buying experience I've ever had. I'll be out of the car market for awhile, but I've already told several people about how impressed I am by Whitten Brothers. I couldn't be happier with my new vehicle and Whitten Brothers!

Whitten Brothers did an exceptional job of getting the Jeep Wrangler that I have wanted for several years. The options and color combination made it a difficult find. Ben Kadrlik, my sales representative was not only able to find it, he went and picked it up himself early on a Saturday morning to accommodate my busy schedule. This was done all within 48 hours of my initial visit! The buy and trade experience was quick and stress free. Thanks to Whitten, now my whole family of five can ride to together in the Wrangler...one of my kids favorite things to do. Thank you Whitten!

We received a quote from the Internet sales department (Gillian was very helpful) and then went in to purchase the Jeep. Jay L. was the salesman we were directed to once we arrived (the Internet sales folks do the work before you arrive and then when you show up another person takes the file and goes over the vehicle). The manager Willie was also wonderful. Our salesperson Jay was very knowledgeable about the vehicle and did a great job explaining a few neat features and how to personalize them. We were very pleased with this dealership.

The salesman Bruce Anderson, Sales Manager, Car care Manager & Mike the finance manager treated me very fairly & made me feel comfortable & feel at home. I have dealt with at least 15 different dealerships over the past 35 years & Whitten Brothers at Midlothian & their teammates are at the top of the list. They do not give cars away but they truly work with you to be sure both parties receive a fair deal. If I could rate all of them higher than 5 stars, I would!

I was looking for Dodge Grand Caravan and a reasonable price. I was able to find a 2015 model that came under my lowest purchasing price. I was able to make an appointment the same day to see the vehicle. Everyone were great! I arrived to my appointment early, which actually conflicted with another customer who had an appointment at the time. Although I offered to wait, instead they found another salesman who could assist me immediately. Working with Ben was like running into an old friend. He didn't pressure me to look at other vehicles or make any additional purchases. The process was fast and enjoyable. I'm normally an introvert, but the staff had me laughing as if we were all old friends. They were so personable, friendly and genuinely cared that I was happy with my vehicle selection and purchase. If you want to have a wonderful car buying experience without a lot of hassle, definitely go to Whitten Brothers.

So how many dealerships have you been to that have a "laundry list" of items that you supposedly NEED only to find out after the fact that you didn't have to have it or could've gotten cheaper elsewhere? Not only did this store have a first class lounge area with free wi-fi, water and snacks but staff that was extremely helpful and saved me money! Yes, a service department that SAVED me money! The Whitten staff were extremely accommodating and honest. We were able to negotiate a great deal by email and phone with no game playing. Sales Managers Richard and Sheri promptly responded to all of our correspondence and even researched offers from other dealers for us. My husband and I were in the market for a truck that could tow our new RV and were new to the whole towing experience. We actually started our search in the summer because we wanted to educate ourselves about the trucks available, towing options, etc. Larry "Baseball" Cupp worked with us throughout the process -- researching possibilities, comparing options and making sure we got the truck we wanted. We were very pleased with the whole experience. There was no pressure to buy. And, when we did find the perfect vehicle, we were very pleased with both the price and the financial arrangements. After an accident for which my car was totaled, I had been looking for reasonable used cars from 2013 to 2014. After finding a 2014 Mazda 6 Touring for which a follow up was needed the next day to be able to look at and drive the car, I decided to stop by the Whitten Mazda Dealership. For a long story short, I left the facilitiy several hours later in a 2016 Mazda 6 Touring Sedan (and in Soul Red I may add) for which I'm loving. To add is that the experience "just felt right" from when I first opened the door to the end of the transaction. When entering the door, Megan Reid greeted me and from that point forward it was a very comfortable and trusting situation. I am happy with the car, happy with the customer service during the selling and buying process and am also looking forward to continuing a relationship with the dealership for the maintenance on my car. A very good experience and a car I'm loving so for now this lady is very satisfied and will be recommending others to this dealership.

I was dreading the whole 'new car purchase' process and visited multiple dealerships. I had always wanted a Jeep Cherokee and found one at this dealership online that I wanted. A representative sent me an email with details so I stopped in for a test drive. My salespersons name was Charles and he could not have been more helpful. I just recently bought a 2015 Dodge Charger from Whitten Brothers Midlothian and Robert King was very helpful throughout the whole process. He demonstrated excellent customer service and was great! Also, the man in the finance office was amazing (can't remember his name). I had been trying to trade in my 2012 Jeep Compass and had visited several other dealers who all were willing to offer me far less for the car than I knew was valid. I decided to try Whitten because I had the Jeep serviced there on a few occasions. I worked with Ben Kadrlik and after some initial paperwork he was able to offer me $400 more for the Jeep than I was expecting. They had a lovely used Passat SE priced within my range and made the trade incredibly easy. Ben was knowledgable and straightforward. I really appreciated that he wasn't pushy or forceful and understood all my concerns about trading in the car. After some negotiations, and a day to mull things over, I ended up successfully trading in my Jeep for the Passat and could not have been happier with the rate I received. The experience as a whole was ten out of ten. I highly recommend Whitten Brothers and specifically Ben!

These folks will treat you right. I've bought my last two cars from them and had good experiences both times; I was referred by another customer who feels likewise. They are committed to finding the vehicle that you want if it's not already in their large stock on hand. Yes they are in the sales business and yes they will offer up extended warranties, add ons etc., but if you decide these aren't for you they won't hound you about it. Overall as good a car buying experience as you can expect and I'll go back again.

I shopped around online before ordering a new Ram 1500 and I was set up with Bob Darling from Whitten Brothers. I emailed all the dealerships around and Whitten Brothers was the first to respond and with the best price. From there on, the process was smooth as could be. I came in and met with Bob, test drove a couple trucks, and ordered one exactly the way I wanted it. From start to finish, Whitten Brothers treated me like I was their number one customer and earned my business. Most importantly I will be back to buy another vehicle.

Gillian called me after I had emailed and throughout the entire process was patient and happy to teach me about the buying process. We purchased the 2014 Jeep Overland Diesel in September 2014; I didn't want to buy "brand new" but my husband talked me into it. We immediately took it on a month-long 8000-mile drive across country; it was a fabulous ride and we enjoyed all the great gadgets and features!!! Love the car, and now 10 months later can't say enough good things about the car and the entire experience. Bob Darling was a joy to work with; would buy through him again in a heartbeat! I found options and called him. He also had been looking on my behalf. We exchanged our information and it turned out I was more excited about the car he found. He and his team went to work on financing for me and called me in to check it out. He assured me that if it wasn't what I wanted I wouldn't be obligated to it and that he would get back to work to find something else. When I arrived everything went smoothly. I love my new car!! I recently purchased a beautiful Mazda3 from Whitten Brothers of Richmond and the process went so smoothly! Daniel Oreilly not only walked me through the process of the sale but went as far as dropping my rental car off for me after I purchased my new car. I live in Arlington Virginia and looked everywhere for the specific color and style of car I wanted but wasn't able to find the car anywhere closer than Richmond! Justin, a manager there, offered to pay for my rental so I would be able to purchase the car the same day I found it. Everyone was very warm and nice and waited after hours for the paperwork to be finalized for the sale. Thanks to Whitten Brothers of Richmond, I love my car!! :)

Just wanted to leave my feedback on my recent buying experience at Whitten Brothers. My wife and I were looking for a used Lincoln MKZ and was shopping on Cars.com and found one we were interested in at Whitten Brothers. I made the 3 hour drive from Roanoke to Richmond to check out the 2011 Lincoln in their inventory. I called ahead and the car was ready for my inspection. Upon my arrival I was greeted by the sales manager and introduced to Graham Redfern. Graham was very knowledgeable and professional and was able to answer all my questions. The purchasing process was very professional with no pressure. I have owned over 50 vehicles and I would say that this purchase easily was one of the best if not the best buying experience I have had. If you are in the market for a vehicle I would recommend Whitten Brothers and highly recommend Graham.

We had to find a vehicle that was affordable and had room for our growing family. Car shopping with 2 small children is not a lot of fun, but Bill Edwards made it as simple as possible. My wife and I had been in the market for a used truck for quite a while. After driving through several lots in the Richmond area, we visited Whitten's used vehicle lot on Memorial Day just to "look". That's where we saw it...the truck I've been searching for. We were introduced to salesman, Howard Hall. Howard was unlike most salesmen I've worked with in the past. He was professional, laid back, and never tried to "sell" us on anything. A short time later, we decided to purchase the truck. Besides the $10,000.00 discount I was refused, the experience was a real pleasure. I have sold cars myself, both in Richmond and Los Angeles, so my opinion is a little bit biased. I was pleasantly surprised to find that Whitten Brothers is a breed apart from the rest. I found a very professional and cordial crew. The salesman, Jerry, was very outgoing and fun. He made my wife and I feel like we were important (unlike several other dealerships I went to). The sales manager, Richard, also made me feel like I mattered. He did his job of "not giving away the store", but also made me feel like he was flexible and willing to negotiate (also, unlike other dealers) Mike, the finance man did his job well and even got me a better finance rate than I originally proposed. He also offered me a great extra warranty (imagine that!). LOL! The other sales folks and Sheri, sales manager, made the place seem like a family. I'd highly recommend Whitten to anyone and everyone.

From the time I first sent an online inquiry to date of my purchase was about 3 weeks. Brittany was always quick to respond via email and update me on inventory, new or used. She really listened to what I was looking for and didn't push or give me results that were outside my wants - like I was experiencing with other dealers at the time. Because of location, I actually ended up at one of those other dealers one day. I was ready to purchase, but I couldn't get a clear list of exactly what they had on their lot to offer me. So, in that lobby I emailed Brittany and asked again about Whitten's inventory. Within minutes I had an appointment at Whitten. At Whitten, the atmosphere was calm and there was time for questions and no sense of rush. (at the previous dealer the salesman had told me to put my phone away as I was trying to search his own website listed inventory when he couldnt show or tell me what they had). Whitten was much different, it felt natural and easy. Justin the Sales Manager met me on arrival, relaxed and optimistic! He enlisted Daniel to help look through the options, and through that.... my brand new car was found! Getting all the bells and whistles was something I dreamt of but they made it possible! Very fair, honest pricing, and personable staff who really understand target pricing goals and treat you like a friend! I enjoyed watching them all communicate and work well together, supporting each others decisions which is highly respectful. I would recommend completely!

I came to the dealership knowing it was time for a new vehicle, but unsure of what vehicle I should buy. I was all of the place-looking at everything from a jeep to a charger. The customer service demonstrated by Graham was second to none. He encouraged me to test drive everything I was even remotely considering, and was patient when I continued to say I didn't like this vehicle, I need to try something different. I was thinking the car buying process would take the entire weekend, but I ended up leaving with my challenger the same morning. I really appreciated not being pressured into buying the first, second, or third vehicle I test drove.

This is our 3rd vehicle we have purchased from Whitten Bros. in the past 3 plus years. Our buying experience has always been top notch. They have good inventory however we wound up ordering this vehicle, whereas the 2 previous vehicles were purchased off the lot. Our sales person has been Percy on the past two, knowledgeable about the cars, easy to deal with. Did not push us, listen to what we wanted and made recommendations. When the car came in, I received an e-mail and a follow up phone call, came into the dealership with an appointment and had a short time to complete the sale, we make the timeline work. The Salesman was really great! (Bill Edwards - "Wild Bill") Told him from the start I was just looking and didn't want any pressure - he was true to that! I had not purchased a vehicle in 10 years so this was really nerve racking. Knowing that the vehicle (car) I had for 10 years is a great car and has been I was concerned about going to another dealership. So many to look at and the price had gone up somewhat. Knew I wanted to try an SUV. So with that in mind I kept looking. When I came back to Whitten for the vehicle that I originally saw and was interested in it, it was still available and I test drove it. Then Bill showed me all the "bells and whistles" which I didn't need but they came with the (wonderful used SUV - Jeep Compass Latitude - 2014). What a gift that was. I certainly hope this vehicle will take me a good journey like the other one. A referral from a friend who bought a Jeep at this dealership recommended I give it a try. I purchased the car from out of state. All went well to a degree but was misled as to car details. I was told their were no problems with the car when I accepted the auto but found the wipers rotted when I used them, their were dings...light but visible above the trunk and I found scars that had been painted over. The remote key trunk did not work. I am still in the process of having the car inspected for further problems. I hope it was all superficial?
