If you are in the process of looking for a new vehicle, I highly recommend VanBortel Ford to be the first place you stop. I worked with their Sales and Finance Department, and they are simply the best. When working with Christin -- she listened to what I was willing and able to pay as to monthly payments and the range of the down payment. She came back with options for the Ford Fusion and Escape with various price points. From there, we test drove both. I made my selection, and then was able to meet with Brandon. Talk about no pressure -- he reviewed with me several of the extended warrant option packages available; told me that I could pick and choose what would best meet my needs and want I wanted. There was simply no pressure. A couple of days later I was back to pick up my new vehicle. Needless to say the experience was the best, and where else when you leave the dealership you give your sales person a hug for all that she did to make it happen.

As soon as you walk into the showroom, you know you're dealing with a different sort of dealer. The showroom was spotless. Every sales person was dressed as a neat professional. A lot of attention to detail every vehicle was white, and the showroom definitely not cluttered with vehicles. Pleasing to the eye. No pressure and a pleasure to deal with. I wanted my mechanic to look the vehicle overno problem. I checked out financing at a credit union; when the rep asked me what dealer, and I told him, he said that based on his experience, he loved that dealer and wouldn't go anywhere else. I might go somewhere else for the right price, but honestly, the pricing was fair and the care exceptional. Based on my experience, Van Bortel will be my first stop in the future.

We worked with George Lunney and ordered a 2016 F150 from the factory. George answered all our questions and there was never any pressure. He was available when we called and responded to our e-mails. He took the time to discuss and explain all the features of the truck. We would recommend Van Bortel Ford to any one looking for a vehicle.

This past weekend we were in the area to visit with elderly family members, when our 2003 Grand Marquis broke down. We called the service department of Van Bortel at 6:45am and they were very gracious to take us as soon as our car could be towed to them. They gave us a new Ford Focus to use for the day and had our car fixed by early afternoon. We had never even heard of this dealership before, but they treated us as if we had been loyal customers for years. We were impressed with the employees, as well as, the service we received. I worked with George Lunney in the purchase of a F150 crew cab that I ordered from the factory. George was very response to e-mails and phone calls which was very important in my decision to buy from Van Bortel. I have always been a GMC customer and loved my GMC. I switched to Ford because of their most recent reviews and also since Van Bortel was willing to give me the same deal when ordering a truck. This was nice since I purchased only what I wanted. I knew what I should pay for the vehicle before I finalized the purchase and I know I received a good deal. George's responsiveness sealed my interest in working with Van Bortel. I would strongly recommend Van Bortel if you are looking for a Ford and even if not, the new F150's are very nice compared to the GMC

I purchased a new Ford F150 and the Van Bortel price was fair without haggling. Chris showed me a car with the exact trim level and options that I asked for. I was never pressured into buying anything that I did not want by either Brandon or Chris. Mark was also helpful in spending a lot of time with me to make sure I knew all the features of my new truck before I drove it off the lot. All the staff that I interacted with were great and I would recommend this dealer to others.

Looking for a SUV, carefully with many other dealers, my final one was Van Bortel and they had what I was looking for. I got a 2015 Nissan Juke, and in white like I wanted, this dealership treats you as how they want to be treated if our positions were reversed. George Lunney knew what he was doing and answered my questions and more....took home the SUV the very same day. Answered phone calls and emails promptly and with courtesy.

After much deliberation, research and comparison shopping, we decided to purchase a 2016 Ford Edge. To estimate its cost, we used Fords online Build and Configure tool. Within 21 minutes, we received an email from Matt German, a personable and knowledgeable sales rep at Van Bortel Ford in East Rochester. Matts email provided Van Bortels selling price for the Edge we had just configured, including current rebates! A few minutes later, he called to personally introduce himself and explain Van Bortels pricing and sales policies.We set up an appointment and met Matt, who was armed with answers to every question we posed. After another test drive, we decided to order the Edge. Matt competed the necessary paperwork, and introduced us to Brandon Wood, who explained Fords extended warranty and other optional add-on packages.Our new Edge arrived within the original delivery window and we went back to Van Bortel to pick it up. This time, Matt introduced us to Mark Hawkins, a virtual walking encyclopedia of Fords latest technology. Mark spent an hour explaining all of the new gadgets and even answered our questions regarding our 2014 Ford Fusion! Finally, Matt introduced us to Bryan Zemaitis, who carefully explained all of the important points in our Ford Credit contract.We have purchased 10 new cars over the past four decades and have never found the experience to be as enjoyable as it was at Van Bortel Ford. Matt, Mark, Brandon, Bryan and the others we met there were friendly, professional and never too busy to answer questions and make us feel like family. From our first impressions through vehicle delivery, Van Bortel Ford has truly been a one-of-a-kind dealer!

Lee Daubenspeck Sales Manager and Christen Lanzalaco Sales Rep were second to none in service professionalism, respect and friendliness. And lastly I can't leave out Mark Hawkins Delivery Specialist who gave me all the time I needed going over my F-150 features head to toe . I have brought by 2006 Ford Mustang in for service about 1-1/2 weeks ago. Needed a new battery and alternator. On Saturday (2/27) the battery light came one. I immediately went to Van Bortal for them to check out the issue. It was determined there was a problem with the newly installed alternator, and due to the fact that they did not have in stock for my vehicle; I was given a loaner car for the weekend and through Monday. Upon arriving to Van Bortal late Monday to pick up my vehicle; I was presented with a bill/invoice with a ZERO balance. I was surprised and I had expected to lay for labor; but to not have to pay for anything was a pleasant surprised. It was explained to be by Doug and then Rocco -- that the issue was due to a faulty part which was installed, and that I was not going to be charged for the placement for labor. Also Karen (Cashier) had signed me up for their Rewards Program, and ensured that I was given credit for past repairs which occurred during the last year. She did this without even asking, and it was so appreciated. Once again the level of customer service and doing what it right for the customer -- is just how they do things. It does not go unnoticed by me. I would HIGHLY recommend them!!!!

For the last 1-1/2 years, I have been bringing my vehicle to Van Bortel Ford for service. My service appointment on Friday, once again did not disappointment as to the service provided, but also the customer service provided. Rocco and all of the Service Team are the best. Even Bob, who drives the Courtesy Shuttle is the best. As I always say, it is the little things that count and mean the most, and that is what they continue to do at Van Bortel; ensure that all of the little things are done right. I went to Van Bortel ford in E Rochester believing that i had a free oil change coming to me. After the car was brought into the garage I began giving information to a service rep. At this time i was made aware that I did not have a free oil change due to me,I had misunderstood an e mail about the rewards program. The goal of having everyone leave happy left me with another free oil change and I did indeed leave happy. from the time i bought my car to every time i visit them for any purpose, Van Bortel Ford of E Rochester has been friendly,professional and simply pleasant to deal with. I bought a 2012 Fusion in 2015 and i am always made to feel as if I bought the newest most expensive car on the lot. My experience with two other dealers in the Rochester area comes nowhere near matching every visit i make to Van Bortel !

After using the service department at Van Bortel for the past few years, I had made up my mind that when the time came to buy a new vehicle, I wanted to purchase it here.A couple of weeks ago, I found a Ford Fusion on Van Bortel's website that I was interested in. I went to the dealership and was immediately greeted by Chris Pelow. I stated what I was interested in and we went out to look at the car. After a test drive, we made the deal. Van Bortel even gave me more for my trade than I had expected. It took less than two hours and we made a deal. After doing extensive web research, I saved about $1,500-$2,000 by shopping here.I have been very pleased in the past with my service experience here and now I can highly recommend Van Bortel for sales as well. A no-pressure, friendly dealership that actually cares about their customers! I even received a card with Kitty Van Bortel's personal cell number if I ever have an issue and want to talk to her!! How many times have you been given the owner's cell number at any other dealership? The day after I drove the Fusion Energi home I took my first trip of about 27 miles. The car handled much better than my previous car, a Fusion Hybrid, and at my destination the gas milage was over 103 mpg! I got 19.7 miles from the high voltage battery, and a score of 96% on regenerative braking. Driving home at night, I was particularly pleased with the automatic lights. The headlights and tail lights came on automatically and the headlights dimmed and returned to high beam faster and more efficiently than I could do manually. On one stretch of road, when there was no traffic, I purposely drove over the centerline to see what would happen and immediately a loud drowsy warning appeared on the screen! I like the looks of the car, and a friend of mine, on seeing it, became excited on how sleek it is. The staff at Van Bortel were extremely helpful with advice and also spent over 2 hours familiarizing me with the complete computer system.

I believe that the service professional that I worked with was Gabe. He took the time to call the tire company to see if they would honor a warranty a bit early so that the cost of my new tires ended up being prorated now instead of having to wait another few months which could have left me in snow without great tires. I have had great experiences at Van Bortel since purchasing my Ford Edge and with the Service department during the 100,000 miles I have put on this vehicle. They're considerate and will make changes if I point out a problem. They explain issues with my vehicle until I am satisfied. I also recently dealt with the sales staff with my mother who ultimately did not buy a Ford but we really wanted to because of the patience of the salesman that we worked with. She did pick a Camry because she felt the car was better for her (she is 80 years old and used to a Camry. Thanks for restoring my faith in Auto dealerships!

I bought a 2016 Ford Focus Sedan and wanted to buy a manual which I found when the friendly sales person was showing me the models available in the display parking lot. I was able to test drive both the manual and automatic versions. Going through the paperwork was fine and all questions were answered, and the same was true the following day when I picked up the car. No complaints whatsoever.

I miss Dick Clark. He was pleasant and friendly. The new team of management seems aloof. If I get another Ford (and that is a big if) it will probable be with another dealer. I enjoy the cleanness of the facility and the free coffee but the place had taken on a big operation atmosphere and not the friendly personal place it once was.

it was a very pleasant and wonderful experience, I went only for a test drive of the new escape 2016 models available, because I had a 2006 XLT and it was a very reliable car , solid, good performance, good gas mileage, and I bought it from this dealership. The service representative was relatively new and charged me for brake pads and rotors, wipers and an oil change. I asked if any of it was covered under my extended warranty or maintenance plan. I was told no, so I had planned on calling the next day and asking someone. A very kind lady called me the next morning and told me that I was overcharged and that I would be receiving a credit for $171.00 I want to thank the Van Bortel dealership for it's honesty and saving me a call. It's nice to know that I'm dealing with a dealership with integrity! I have purchased my last three cars from you and I intend to continue that habit! I had gone on-line earlier in the week to schedule an appointment to bring my vehicle in to have two snow tires placed on the front as I already had snow tires on the rear. My appointment was confirmed for Saturday (11/28). On Friday morning received a call from the person who oversees the appointment scheduling as she noticed that I had not included information as to the make/brand of snow tires which I wanted to purchase. As she stated to me, "we don't want you to come in on Saturday morning only to find out we do not have the tires in stock". I was able to get all of the information which was needed, called her back, and within 15-20 minutes she called backed having checked with the Parts Dept to confirm that they did have the snow tires in stock, and they would see me on Saturday. For me it is the little details that make the difference. I continue to be impressed with the level of customer service which each employees at VanBortal displays each time I have gone to the Marsh Road location. Continue to be a customer for life!

I took my 2014 Escape in for its regular oil change and tire rotation. I also set an appointment to take my car in for a tweak to the air bag system for a recall. As always the service department staff were extremely helpful, friendly, courteous, and professional. They got my car serviced quickly both times. For the recall I dropped it off in the morning (8am) and was able to pick it up around Noon which was well before I needed to leave to work.

A spark plug on my Ford Hybrid was not firing. I didn't know what was wrong, and didn't want to drive my car. Everyone so helpful, and shop foreman test drove & diagnosed for me, and then replaced spark plug and coil while I waited. Thank you for helping me solve the problem ASAP!

I took my Ford Edge in for an oil change and tire leak. Two tires needed to have the reams cleaned and tires remounted for the leak. They also noted that my ty-rod ends where bad. They took me back to my vehicle to show me that they where bad and explained why they where bad. I had them replaced. I have been going to Ford Dealership for 4 1/2 years now and they have always been honest and have done an excellent job.

I like to bring my Ford Taurus to the Quick Lane for oil changes because I can have my vehicle serviced without an appointment and with minimal wait time. The staff are friendly and very helpful and the waiting area is very comfortable. The hours of operation are convenient for me; because the Quick Lane is open after 5:00 p.m. I can stop after work, have the oil changed and be home at a reasonable hour. I don't have to time away from work or give up my Saturday mornings to take care of my car!

My only negative observation was that when I called to check on the status of needed service, I was told that I would get a call back. That call never came so when I got there we waited a while for the car to be finished. The service person said the person who was supposed to call me back went home sick. It would probably be good practice to have someone checking the voice mails of absent employees. Otherwise-GREAT!!

2014 fusion hybrid ... we live in geneseo but felt van bortel was a great place for service, and we were right... when i couldn't open my e-mail because of their new wi-fi, i called when i got home to say i did have a free oil change on the account which disagreed with what they had, so they gave us 2 free ones in the future !!! plus did a recall update and diagnosed another small problem ... great folks. i had also recommended "the fred factor", a book about customer service, the last time i was there to the customer service "boss", and she has purchased it and is reading it ...

I needed the battery and charging system checked because I found myself with a dead battery on 2 occasions. The Quick Service department was able to do that within about an hour on a pretty busy day. I regained confidence in the battery and charging system and was not charged. Thank you Van Bortel for standing behind your product! I keep returning to Van Bortel for service on my F150 because these are the right folks with the right experience to service this vehicle. keep up the good work.

I purchased a 2010 Transit Connect from Van Bortel Ford 5 years ago (put 125,000 miles on it)and have had a great experience with the sales and maintenance teams. I just purchased a new 2015 Transit Connect and was treated to another great no pressure sales experience. The 2015 Transit Connect is vastly improved from the older model. It rides very nicely, The interior is quieter, The old style key lock gas cap and hood have been replaced with the no cap gas and the hood now opens like regular cars. It has better acceleration (I got the eco-boost turbo engine) and get's better gas mileage too. It also has a nicer loading deck and a really nice LED light in the cargo area. I highly recommend this vehicle for anyone with a small business that has their eye on great gas mileage and ease of transporting products. I also got the bluetooth and phone sync so i can listen to texts and make phone calls hands free. This is a great feature for business owners that need to keep in touch while on the road. I test drove the Chevy/Nissan and the Dodge similar sized vans and think the Ford Transit Connect is superior in many ways. There are many other updates on the Transit Connect that make the new model a pleasure and fun to drive. I highly recommend Van Bortel Ford when you need to purchase a car or van or truck. They are the best.

After calling a different Rochester Ford Dealer with little to no assistance, I called Van Bortel and spoke with Ryan in the service department. He immediately answered my questions regarding the type of replacement tires needed for a 2013 Ford Focus and determined that the tires I wanted were in stock for a Saturday appointment with Quick Lane. I also needed a tire pressure sensor fixed on a tire that had already been replaced due to a flat. They double checked to assure there was no actual leak and then agreed that it was simply a missing sensor. Finally, there was a foam piece over the speakers in the rear of the vehicle that had deteriorated due to sun damage. They fixed it too for a nominal $8 and had the vehicle ready to roll early in the afternoon. Ryan was patient in answering my questions and provided excellent customer service that is unfortunately rare these days. Just an all around great experience.

Just took my Town Car in for a NYS inspection and a set of new tires I ordered from the parts department the day before. The price for the same work done 2 1/2 yearrs before at a different place was very close. I went to VanBortel because i had bought my last vehicle there and had such a positive experience. The sales rep I was working with over email and phone was out sick the day I came in for a test drive and Jake was happy to help. He went over all my options for payment and helped me understand how leading was the right option for me. I left Friday and told him I needed time to think about it. He never made me feel pressured to make a decision at all. I had made the decision the next morning to lease a 2015 Ford Escape. I have had such an amazing experience and I love my new car! I recently went it to have my F150 serviced. The consultant told me a price but when the final bill was printed, it was $70.00 higher than the price he had told me. The consultant looked at the bill and compared it to the price he had scribbled down earlier. Without hesitation, he changed the bill to the lower price. He explained he had forgotten to add one of the charges to the initial price but that it was his mistake and that they stick by their quotes.

I continue to be so impressed with the level of customer service which is provided by the team at Van Bortal Ford. Not only did Rocco explain to me following the appt a couple of things to keep an eye on, he let me know that if it was something they felt needed to be addressed and taken care of immediately they would, but as he said "We are not going to let you drive away in a vehicle that we know there is an issue with and thus not safe, but this is not the case". He further stated at my next routine service appt they would look to see if the item needed to be replaced then. Also while I was there another customer was waiting for their vehicle and the service was taking longer than anticipated, knowing the time constraints that the customer was under; the Service Manager came out and not only apologized, but had set him up with a loaner so that he could get to practice that he was scheduled to run. As the Manager said, we want to make sure you car is serviced properly, but also don't want you to miss the practice either. Again, it simply goes to speak to the level of customer services and care which is shown by the team at Van Bortal Ford.

I went to Van Bortel Ford to look at the 2016 Ford Escape which was one of the vehicles on my short list to lease. The sales staff was very accommodating and genuine without being oppressive. My representative took the time to show me the AWD Ford Fusion SE and inform me of very advantageous leasing terms. I liked the car and the packages that were included so I ordered it. The dealership bought my used car and gave me a fair price for it. Picking up the car was quick and painless. I had a few problems adjusting to the My Touch system but they brought right in to go over it and we were able to correct the problems I was having within thirty minutes. So far it has worked flawlessly and I am enjoying the car when I can get it away from my wife.

I have been a customer since Van Bortel Ford opened, for service on my 2006 Ford Focus. Service was always excellent, and I even purchased a 5 year end-to-end extended warranty. Recently my 2006 Focus was totaled. I shopped elsewhere and then purchased a 2014 Focus Hatchback from Van Bortel. I received an excellent deal from Claxton, and from the financial manager. I got a 7 year extended warranty at a great price. I was also given a lengthy tour of all the manual and electronic features by another employee. I love my new Focus and I do recommend Van Bortel to everyone.

I scheduled service for my 2011 Fusion on Wednesdsay, 10/7 for "The Works" fuels saver, the recall for the EPS control module and a possible issue with the transmission kick down. I loved everything about that car -except - it just wasn't quite large enough. Ford Taurus 2013 15,000 mile service. I received a reminder from the service department in a timely manner. Transportation to my home was provided when I dropped off my car in a very timely manner. The only issue I continue to have is with my SYNC and I-Phone. The system was rebooted and at this point is working fairly well. I still have times where it takes several minutes (and occasionally the phone does not connect with the sync) for the phone to connect but to this point the other features of the sync system are working fine.

Purchased a 2014 used explorer in Dec 2014, the process was simple, the salesman explained everything clearly and helped to run numbers in order to stay within my budget. Just yesterday I had to bring my vehicle in to be serviced. I am just 4K miles outside my bumper to bumper warranty and my compressor and belt died. Shayleen (sorry if I butchered the spelling of her name) in service was wonderful! She was friendly and understanding from "hello". She recognized my anxiety over the price of the repair (I've been on short term disability from work for 7 wks due to unexpected surgery and my pay has been less than 50% of my normal income). She, without hesitation, used the Goodwill warranty to help lower the cost to something I could handle. She was also going to get me a loaner car since she was sure my car wouldn't be looked at that day, said she'd call later and let me know when one came in. Instead of calling to tell me a loaner came in, she told me the vehicle was looked at already and could be ready for pick up in the evening! I wish she was still there when I picked it up, I would have liked to thank her in person. Another person worth mentioning is your shuttle driver, Ray. Also very friendly. He even called me when he heard my car would be ready and offered to pick my daughter and me up to save my mother the trip! Wonderful service from everyone and kudos to your mechanics for getting my vehicle up on the lift and done the same day! Not bad for a Monday!

You guys did a great job with the items that we set up to have looked at/done (inspection, tire rotation, and traction control code). You diagnosed the issue with the traction control, and you fixed all items necessary for the inspection to pass.I appreciate the fact that you found bad e-brake cables and nearly dead back brake pads. I don't drive that car much (wifey's car), and she usually doesn't tell me when something isn't right with the car until it is really really bad.

We purchased a Ford C-Max Hybrid (which I am loving!). Clax was our salesman and he was wonderful! While we were out test driving a Fusion, he brought up a Hybrid for us to try because we had mentioned that we might want to try one. Overall, though it was a bit more time-consuming than we had expected, we left the dealership with a contract to purchase the car and financing underway.

I purchased a 2015 F-150 XLT 4x4 Sport. I feel it took longer than expected to get my truck. It took me a week and a half. And that was with me calling. After my first salesman left your company I felt know one cared about my sale anymore. Plus I wanted to go with a bank that had a lower APR than the one I ended up being put with. Which costs me more money. I was also promised a gift card for my aggravation but never received anything. Plus I was told I would get a free loaner if I ever had service performed on my truck. Now I'm not sure if that's true or not. Jeff

I have been having trouble with one tire for 2 months. It has been loosing air about every two weeks and sets off the sensor. Each time I have taken it to Ford I was told that there is nothing wrong. Wrong answer! When the operator came back with the same answer at your dealership, the lady at the service desk had him take it back in and pull the tire to check the seal. So far so good and she is my new hero!! If I have any more problems you can believe that I will be back! Thank you!!

The last time my car was in for the green clutch replacement the mechanic didn't torque down the bolts enough. The car had terrible engine vibration and after bringing it back for 10 days, they thought it was fixed and after 3 days the engine light came on again, they had it another 4 days. So far it seems ok after 3 new green clutches.I am not happy with the car because its in the shop more than driven and only has 46,000 on it. I have always been happy with the sales department & Kitty herself with helping me get a good deal on my car. The service department I have had both good and bad experiences.I would love to be able to work a deal and trade my car in, but have considered switching makes after the issues with my focus.

I took my 2011 Escape in for it's 5000 mile oil and filter change and tire rotation.I used the Quick Lane service. No appointment was necessary. The service writer, Kelly, said my vehicle would be ready in about one hour.From the time I walked in the door and walked out it was exactly one hour ! They even offered complimentary tea, coffee, juice and water to drink as well as an assortment of snack bars to customers that wait in the waiting room .... Now That's great service !!!

Even when a mistake is made in a repair, the fix was quick and politely accomplished. A wrong sized windshield wiper was installed. It flew off during a storm. The repairman apologized and replaced it immediately.

I came in for my NYS inspection. The staff got me right in, there was one suggestion made for keeping my car running at peak performance which I had not thought of over the past two years - changing my air filter, so that was taken care of. Everyone was extremely accommodating to us when purchasing our Flex! We came in and went through every single option that was available, and I never felt rushed or like I was inconveniencing them. All the numbers can confuse me, and they went through all the different prices and additions step by step multiple times, and they were so understanding. Even when the car came in, Christin Morse made time to squeeze us in to pick up the car, because she knew how excited we were to get it! Every step was carefully done and discussed and made simple. I had called to speak w/a sales person and was connected w/Steve Miller. I expained what I was looking for and wanted to set up a time to come in and test drive the Ford Edge. I explained that I did not want to be car poor and I would not be put under any pressure in purchasing a car. When I met w/Steve he was great. He set me up to test drive the edge. Beautiful car. Loved it. Steve worked w/me on getting me a car that I would be comfortable w/my payments. In a whole everything and everyone I had to deal with did a great job. This was the 2nd car we have purchased from Van Bortel, and both times the process could not have been easier. I do not enjoy the car buying experience, but Claxton (our salesmen both times) was a dream to work with. Very patient, and accommodating - even when we showed up without an appointment. Every Van Bortel associate we encountered through the buying process was kind, and easy to work with. I have zero complaints. We recommended Van Bortel to my mother in law, who also purchased a used car from this dealership as well. My husband and I went back and forth between leasing a new 2016 escape, or buying one a few years old. After seeing the numbers laid out, ultimately we decided to lease, and could not be happier. I have mixed emotions about VanBortel service. I would be less critical had the lug nuts not been damaged by an impact wrench on my previous visit. I will need to buy some new ones. A little more care would have been appreciated. During this visit, the windshield was not cleaned before new inspection and registration stickers were applied. They were put where I wanted them and that was appreciated. I was told I could get a ride home when I scheduled the appointment. The shuttle was not available, but fortunately my wife was available and came to get me.

Hello, On Friday night my car would not start. A strange message.....key not identified???? and It also made a clicking noise. to make a long story short.........It was towed to Van Bortel. Next day I called to tell them car was there......they knew. I got call back with an update. In the end it was the battery, covered by warranty. THANK YOU FOR SUCH GREAT SERVICE AS ALWAYS. I could not believe my car would not start, it is not three years old. BUT VANBORTEL SERVICE FOUND THE PROBLEM AND GOT ME BACK ON THE ROAD........GREAT SERVICE.

There was a problem with my car. It is a Ford Focus 2013 which I really like. Unfortunately the clutch sucks in this model (I heard 2012 and 2013 Focus models have all this problem). The clutch was replace and it is running perfect for now. It is the second time I bring my car to repair this issue. It seems like this time you guys did a great job. I had an excellent service after all.

We were looking for a decent product to hold us over until we can afford purchase an around town electric vehicle. There were no available Focus Electric cars, so we moved to the C-Max Energi cars. So far we are impressed with the amount of electric miles we are able to use. so far around time I'd say we use 20 electric miles for every 10 Gas miles. With local trips to a neighboring city being the only exception. The C-Max is a great car and VanBortal did a great job getting it for me.

The customer service has been excellent, but I have experienced some issues with my new car since it was purchased mid-July 2015. On one occassion, it would not start. The transmission was also studdering, so I took it to the dealership. They were unable to find an issue surrounding the vehicle starting. They fixed the clutch to address the studdering issue. I also had to bring it back again because the passenger side window would detach when the door was closed. These experiences have impacted my experience with the car. The reason I bought a new car was because my old car was experiencing numerous issues and frequent trips to the mechanic. I am now experiencing the same thing with my new car. Every time I bring my car in though, the customer service has been wonderful and staff are responsive.

Even though this was my first ever car purchase, I could not believe how seamless and easy it was to purchase my car! I came in looking to buy a new 2015 Ford Focus and immediately I was paired with Charles. He was able to directly guide me to the car I was searching for and after a test drive I was ready to sign the papers to purchase it. The entire time Charles was inviting and friendly and it almost had the feel that by the end of the car purchase I knew him personally. When it came to trading in my van, I was prepared to have to negotiate a trade in price, however, I was offered more than I was expecting to get for it and I was super excited! The car is amazing and thanks to Charles and the Ford company I was able to get the car I wanted. Thank you so much for the incredible customer service and the ease of the car purchase.

I received two recalls on my 2015 Ford Escape (within 2 weeks of each other). I made an early morning appt. (6:30 a.m.) after receiving the first. When I was notified of the 2nd, the service dept. said they could do both at the one appt.I was asked when i would like to pick up the vehicle (was dropping off and leaving). I exp'd I would like it back by 2pm. I think i received the call it was ready at 8a.m.That's service.

I was planning on leaving the car (coming back later to pick it up) However, circumstances changed at the last minute & I had to wait for it. Jake McClelland was recommended to me by a neighbor who loved her Van Bortle experience. I was not disappointed. I had just spent 4 long hours at another dealership trying to get facts and figures on an Escape. I was exhausted and totally frustrated with the salesperson. After spending an hour with Jake, I had taken a test drive and went home with facts, figures and the pros and cons of leasing vs. buying. We discussed the many options available and Jake helped me sort through them and figure out what was best for me. I returned today and was greeted warmly and professionally. I will pick up my 2016 Escape in a few days. I can't say enough wonderful things about the total Van Bortle experience. I never had such a good time spending money !!!!! Do yourself a favor and visit them....You won't be disappointed......I promise !!!!!

I understand that my repair, while important to me, was one of many to you. I was given a realistic timeline regarding the repairs and provided a loaner through Enterprise that met me needs for the nine days my car was in your shop. My only disappointment was the explanation that the excessive vibration that I had been experiencing during slow acceleration was "normal" for Focus and Fiestas. The redesigned clutch that was installed as part of the repair resolved the vibration issue.

I am more than pleased with my return trip to get my pick-up truck serviced. Initially the repair was not covered by Ford, but Guy, the service manager, talked to Kitty, the owner, and they did the work at cost and split it with me 50/50!!! When the dealer steps up like that to back their product even when the factory would not, you have to just say WOW! and Thank You! The truck is running quiet again and I am very pleased and recommending Van Bortel Ford to anyone who asks about my truck and the dealer!

This dealership represents the epitome of perfection to the highest possible degree of excellence! I always enjoy having to come in for service and sometime just for conversation. We recently purchased a 2015 Ford Edge. Claxton Wells was our Sales representative. He was straight forward, gave us all the information upfront and gave us time (didn't pressure us) into making a decision. I have owned either a Honda or Toyota since 1991. Had my 2012 Ford Fusion serviced for an oil change and tire rotation. The tech noticed that one of my tie rods was loose so I had it replaced and had a front and rear wheel alignment. Wow?still getting used to the no hassle Van Bortel (Ford)experience. Previous dealerships left me feeling anxious and confused, and always spending way more than anticipated. My family has only bought Ford from Van Bortel for the last 10 years. After my first car, a 2004 Chrystler Sebring broke down for its final time, I decided to get a new car and Van Bortel was the first and only place I went. I was very pleased with the service I got, except that the person helping me was also helping 4 other people. I visited Ford 3 times before making my decision on which car I wanted, and each time I was there for at least an hour, and about 45 minutes of that was waiting for someone to help me. I was impressed with the sincerity of the employees after I disclosed I was not thrilled with the wait period. I would recommend Van Bortel Ford to my friends and family

This was my first time in purchasing/owning a pickup truck having chosen the 2015 Ford F-150. This was my first experience in buying from Van Bortel. 2013 Ford Edge had a rear back up camera problem. Vehicle was under warranty and was fixed at no cost to me. Works great now. Vehicle was left overnight so parts could be delivered. I used the courtesy shuttle which was very convenient. Service personnel checked and verified that there were no recalls on my vehicle. All service personnel were great including the shuttle driver. I especially liked the electronic receipt that was emailed to me!

The problem was not the service but the poor quality of original tires Ford installed on the car. The tires had to be replaced after 16,000 miles. One of the tires was 'chaffed' causing it to sound like a snow tire. Tread wear was also low on the other tires. This was a Fusion Titanium leased in 2013.

My father brought my 2011 Ford Escape in for a check-up as I am about to take a long car trip. The staff were beyond helpful. There were some shock absorbers (or related) needed that would take 4 days to come in, but the parts manager was able to find aftermarket ones. They were able to get my repair approved by my warranty, even though the person had to stay on the phone for about 15 minutes. Needless to say, I cannot thank the staff enough for the work done! Everything was perfect! I appreciate the fact that the repair was done in one day, so that I didn't have to try to find a time to come back during an unusually busy week. Thank you so much! Your dealership has excellent staff, service, and salespeople. A great combination!

We bought a 2015 Explorer EXT last Sept. We were not happy with it since it was difficult getting in and out, did not have memory seat, had cloth seats which were hard to slide on. I called our salesman, Matt German, when we returned from our winter in North Carolina. He had us come up and look at other cars on the lot. (My husband has alzheimers and I do all the driving.) That first day we settled on the last 2014 Edge that they had on the lot. It was a limited with all the features we wanted and it was in our favorite red color. We picked it up two days later. We have been very happy with it so far (only have 200 miles on it.) And were extremely happy with the service Matt provided.

We dealt with Claxton Wells from Van Bortel ford purchasing a 2015 Ford Edge. Claxton was great to work with. Very low pressure and he worked vary hard to get us exactly what we wanted and worked just as hard to get the vehicle at a price we wanted to pay. Claxton spent a lot of time with us and really cared about what we wanted at a price we wanted. We wound up ordering a vehicle with the options we wanted on it. Our experience was great. At the time of delivery, Matt German spent almost 2 hours with us going over all the features of the vehicle, which were many, and setting up all of the technical / sync options. I haven't had a dealer pay this much attention to detail in a long time. (I have purchased many vehicles over the years) They also treated us very fairly on our trade vehicle.

Working with Matt German on the purchase of my 2014 Transit Connect-Titanium was an absolute pleasure and enjoyable experience. Unlike my past dealings with car salesmen, man was zero pressure, courteous, knowledgeable, friendly and very eager to answer all my questions. His willingness to promptly return phone calls and e-mails really demonstrated his desire to work with me and ensure my questions and concerns were addressed. I feel Matt was very instrumental in my deciding to purchase the vehicle from Van Bortel Ford. Matt was also very fair with me concerning the trade-in of my 2006 F-150 as well as locating additional discounts I was entitled to with Ford. I very much like the arrangement that Van Bortel has with Ziebart as I would have done that anyway without their assistance but it was so much easier and cheaper using Van Bortel as my liason with Ziebart.. Matt was instrumental in my going with the additional extended warranty plan as he was fully capable of explaining the plans benefits. Brandon Wood was also a very valuable resource in displaying the various plan options and associated pricing to me and fielding any questions I had. I had been experiencing problems with my clutch on my 2006 Mustang. In calling the dealership I usually got to, they were not able to get me in til beginning of June. So I had a friend say call Van Bortel and see what they can do. Immediately called, and without hesitation they were able to set-up an appointment for me that same week. Upon arriving to their Ford Dealership on Marsh Road, I was greeted by members of their staff at 6:30am with a "good morning, how can we help you today". Doug Hicks was assigned to me, and immediately asked one of the Service Tech (Steve R.) to take a look at my car to see what he thought, and before I could meet Steve at my car; he had gotten out confirmed it was the clutch, and explained to me (in language that I would easily understand) what the issue was, and what needed to be done. As this is my only vehicle, I let Doug know that I would need a loaner car if the clutch could not be replaced that same day. Throughout the morning Doug called to keep me posted, and when he called to confirm the cost, parts, etc. -- he let me know that one of the parts which was indicated to be in stock was not, but was being ordered, and would be in the next day. He then said, I've already lined up a loaner car for me through a Rental Car Company, and simply need to know what time I could pick up the rental car. Doug let me know what all of the paperwork for the loaner car was done, he could confirm the pick up time for me, and that I was all set. I have never experienced a level of customer service like this before. Very impressedI truly have to say, Doug and Steve throughout the process explained everything to me, and what I could expect. A stressful experienced was truly made less stressful by Doug, Steve, and the Service Dept Team; even Jeff who brought me to work that morning. I would highly recommended Van Bortel Ford to anyone who has a Ford vehicle and is looking for quality service, and a level of customer service that cannot be matched. I had such a good experience five years ago, I returned for my next purchase. Super respectful sales people who DO NOT pressure you in any way. Totally amazed at the amount of time they are willing to take with the customer to answer questions and discuss vehicle options.Purchase process was super smooth and stress free-loved that there wasn't any "haggling" involved. I had researched what I was trading and buying-the prices for each were extremely competitive. The entire staff made sure I was comfortable with the purchase and followed up with me a few days layer to make sure all was well.No question about it-I will buy from Van Bortel again and highly encourage others to do so as well!

My wife and I had a wonderful experience with a recent Ford Fusion purchase courtesy of Charles Sarratori and the helpful staff at Van Bortel Ford. From the initial test drive through to delivery, Charlie took the time to answer our questions and offer suggestions in a truly no pressure fashion. I took the time to solicit quotes from several area Ford dealers, and beyond the fact that Charlie went above-and-beyond in getting us to a number we were comfortable with, I really appreciated his being upfront with us about all costs and being true to his word throughout the entire process. As we have a young child, cutting the total amount of time at the dealership was very important, and in this Van Bortel really excelled. On delivery day, we were in and out the door with all paperwork signed and keys in hand within 1 hour. Simply put, this was the best car buying experience weve ever had, and I wholeheartedly recommend Charles and the team at Van Bortel for your Ford needs.

Once again, Van Bortel exceeded my expectations. I stopped there because my windshield wiper fluid sprayers were not working properly. I didn't have an appointment but drove into the Quick Lane. I was greeted by Kelly who said they would be glad to look at it. While my car was being looked at, she noticed my NYS inspection was due this month and asked if I would like them to do that as well. I ended up being there for only about 40 minutes, my washers were fixed and my car inspected. Try and do THAT at another dealer -- I don't think soThe staff at Van Bortel is awesome and I would recommend them to anyone! Thank you Ms. Van Bortel for a great experience.

Rebecca and Guy exceeded my expectations this week.While technically the "60000 mile" tires I had were not yet worn out (with 1-3/32 of tread to go), there were only 38,000 miles on them and winter is looming.I was given a pro-rated discount a new set of tires. Because the original brand was on backorder, I was given the option to buy a different brand. On top of that, they matched the competitive price for the different brand.It's the great customer service that keeps us coming back (from Chili).

I just purchased a vehicle through Van Bortel Ford and I was very impressed. Everything was organized and done very professionally. I came from New Jersey to pick a car up. When I got there the truck was parked right out front all prepared along with all the paperwork. I was in and out within 10 minutes. They also pushed to get the rate I needed to meet my needs. Very pleased.

We have purchased 2 vehicles in the past and from our 1st purchase we knew that we needed to look no further for a dealership we could trust. We are anxiously awaiting our 3rd purchase, a new F350 which our salesman Paul Bowers helped us build. We will be purchasing a truck camper in the near future and Paul was very knowledgeable about the "extras" that we needed for a safe truck/camper package. The same day we were making our truck purchase we also asked if the service department could do a LOF on our 2009 Fusion (we were overdue). They happily squeezed us in and asked us if we wanted to have them replace a tail light bulb (we said yes). We LOVE Van Bortel Ford, Paul Bowers and the Service Department!

My car decided to die one day after work. Being a single mom with no one here in NY to help I remembered my friend saying what great work Van Bortel did. So I had my car towed there and prayed for the best. I found Rebecca and Andrew helpful, supportive and professional when I was stressed and with no way home. I was given a loaner for the long time my car was being worked on. When I came to pick it up the wonderful people in the cashiers office helped me with the payment and even found my lost jacket. Ryan helped me understand the bill and warranty. Compassion, support and professionalism. Great team, great job and you have a new customer for life!! Thank you for taking great care of me when you could have taken advantage instead. Integrity!! WOW!

I have come to expect lackluster customer service or perhaps one person who acts like they are glad I stopped by. But at your dealership, I was shocked that every single person I encountered was over-the-top pleasant, friendly, and helpful, especially Brandon McKenzie who went out of his way to help me. I watched as the workers interacted with customers and I watched as they interacted with one another. I was impressed by the level of respect they showed one another. Van Bortel Ford is a special place and I will be sure to return for any automotive needs I may have.

After a little difficulty I was finally able to see the vehicle I was interested in. Matt German was great and while I haven't bought the vehicle I am interested in I am considering it. They were no hi pressure which I liked.

Van Bortel Ford is terrific. I ordered my F150 from the location on Marsh Rd. and have had nothing but good things to say. I still go there for all my service, they are trustworthy and when they can help you they will. The wait is never too long and if requested they will provide you with a rental car as yours is being repaired. I cant speak more highly about this office and I will certainly be returning there for my next vehicle.

I bought a used Ford from them that, a week later, I decided was not the one for us. Absolutely nothing wrong with the car, just decided that we didn't care for it. Took it back to them and while they were not overjoyed to take it back (who would be?), they certainly did NOT give me any hassle about returning it. The salesman who sold it to me asked me a few questions about why I was returning it (reasonable questions; was not grilling me) and based upon my answers said that they had gotten another used car (not a Ford) in two days ago that I might like better. I did and they swapped it. Oh and they also refunded the extended Ford warranty I purchased from them. Now, the second car cost more than the first (still a reasonable price for it) but they had already agreed to take the first one back and started processing the paperwork before I decided to buy the second one. BTW, the trade-in valuation was also higher than that of the three other dealers that I visited initially. I would absolutely buy another car from Kitty. Kudos to her and her people.

Worst new car buying experience ever, in my life. The new vehicle had more mileage than it should. Also, all the manufacturer's stickers, and new plastics had been removed (as if it was being driven & this was a special order/limited production vehicle). Staff was very uncooperative and disrespectful. Traveled over 5 hours to this dealership, and was met by rude, unhelpful staff. Even told us not to come get the vehicle the next day (driving another 5 hrs to fix some paperwork THEY mis-communicated about!) because 'They will not stay a minute late' (in case I was late). We ended up walking away from this purchase due to the treatment we received. Would not wish my worst enemy to deal with this dealer! Just because they sell vehicles at invoice, does not give them the right to accuse hard working people of identity theft, due to their own internal errors.

It was time for my son to buy a new truck and he had a few things that he really wanted: newer, 4x4, black, a regular cab that the seat can actually recline and an MP3/usb port for his ipod/phone and such. My job, as usual, is to be the facilitator and negotiator. It is what it is with many car dealerships and most buyers dread the thought of the ordeal they'll go through buying a new car. My son didn't want to get taken advantage of and of course neither did I want to see that.Anyway, we did our homework and found several trucks that fit the bill. His range was 25k and finding low mileage recent trucks in nice shape at that price is tough. We assumed that we couldn't get new since the price points were near 40k. We spent alot of time and gas tracking down trucks after we spent hours online.We ended up at Van Bortel on Marsh Rd in Fairport (East Rochester) and worked with Matt German who was their internet guy. I've purchased 3 other vehicles from this location previously under different ownership, but there was always a professionalism present. This was no exception.Upon entering, a salesman approached us and asked if were being helped and all I said was that I talked to the internet guy and he went and got him, unlike another dealership where the rep just said "He's not here, but he'd just turn you over to me anyway." Right away we knew to watch out at that place. My point is that right off the bat the salesman (Clayton) showed us that there was HONOR and honesty at the Van Bortel dealership.The sales staff all wore suits and ties and acted in the kind of manner that I EXPECT when I'm spending alot of money. Suits and ties don't necessarily make for a great experience, but here it seemed as if it was the way it was supposed to be. In fact we were at another dealership that trashed Van Bortel for wearing ties. Really.Matt was as professional as it gets, extremely knowledgeable and friendly, answering every question and making us feel like he, as well as the dealership, was actually GLAD we were there to give them a chance to sell us a truck. When's the last time you were at a store and you knew they were actually glad you were there? Think about that for a minute.So, anyway, Matt found several rebates for us, sold us the truck at 300.00 under invoice, took care of financing, didn't get flustered with tough questions, didn't push us for things we didn't want, and the bottom line was he put my son in a BRAND NEW F-150 4X4 STX for the same price as some 3 year old trucks we had seen with 40,000 miles on them.Every single facet of our "buying experience" was attended to, every question answered and every expectation met or exceeded. This is EXACTLY how car buying is supposed to be and frankly what I expected from the get-go. This is NOT what we experienced anywhere else.

We went to this dealer due to all of the great reviews. Apparently we hit a dud sales person. We ended up ordering. We got the DORA (Dealer Order Receipt Acknowledgement) indicating 8-10 week production. Our vehicle ended up taking 24 weeks. After 12 weeks with no contact from Van Bortel, we reached out to them. They "forgot" to tell us that there was going to be a delay. Communication from sales was HORRIBLE!!!. No returned email, no return phone calls. Only way to talk to sales person is to go in there. Appears to be "hiding" from an uncomfortable situation. Now, I understand the delay is not their fault, but you could at least let your customer know that the order is delayed, and utilize some very basic customer service skills, such as returning phone calls, returning emails, doing what you say you will do. In short, I will never ever ever buy from this dealer again. I will try to dissuade anyone I know from purchasing from this dealer. HORRIBLE HORRIBLE HORRIBLE experience. Worst customer service ever.

Purchased 2013 Ford C-Max from Van Bortel two weeks ago; my wife and I were very well taken care of by salesperson George Lunney, who met and anticipated our every need. I went to a second dealer alone, did a test drive & got a price that was about $2K higher, was treated OK but nothing like the personal attention at Van Bortel which allowed things to be comfortably done in our own time scheme, not that of the salesperson. A+ rating.

My first buying experience with Van Bortel Ford was like no other. Before going to the dealership my phone conversations with them were polite and imformative. When I arrived at the dealership to look at my new car I was greeted by friendly sales people who offered me a beverage and a seat while waiting a few minutes for my sales rep. Matt German. I had never been treated like this at a dealership before, what a pleasant surprise. Matt German , a nice young man and extremely knowledgeable explained everything and took care of my needs . If anyone is buying a vehicle, Van Bortel is the place to go. There is no hassle over price and everything is easy. My new car has only five hundred miles on it and I can't wait to go to the service dept. for my first oil change. Jerry

Definitely the best buying experience I have ever had. I never felt pressured by any of the staff. The dealership was spotless. The service I have recieved since buying has been above and beyond my expectations. Everyone is always so inviting...I forget that I'm getting an oil change. You wouldn't believe you are in a service area! My sister in law also bought from them, and has had the same wonderful experience. I cannot imagine anyone ever being disappointed, and I'm sure if they are, for any reason, the staff will take care of them immediately. Thank you all for turning an otherwise painful experience into such a pleassant one!

I spoke with Bob Larabee from Van Bortel about my service experience. He offered me an apology and reassured me that if any of his staff did that on purpose that they would no longer have a job. It is most likely a case of accidental disconnection. They made it right by reimbursing me for the unnecessary trip to my regular mechanic. Thanks for the great service, Bob. I appreciate it!

Parked in my garage, my car wouldn't start. Triple A came. Towed to Fairport Ford on April 2, 2011. I rode in the tow truck. The service department was full up but Guy Kalpin took a look at the car. He determined it wasn't anything major. So, instead of having me hitch a ride home (it was late on Saturday: they were open til 8pm) they did their best to work me in. About 1 1/2 hours later, I was on my way; a very happy senior woman.Today I looked up Fairport Ford's telephone number online and came across some very negative reviews which were submitted when the company was owned by Mr. Cortese. I want those who read the negative reviews to know that Fairport Ford has been taken over by Kitty VanBortel. I bought my Ford 500 from Cortese, so I feel very qualified to say there has been a huge change in the way the new management team's customer care is handled.
