Jose at Mini of Universal City always takes good care of me and my car. It’s great to get such good service. I wouldn’t take my car anywhere else. And Jorge always takes good care of me too. He’s so kind and always asks about my husband who was a cancer patient until he passed in his sleep last August. Excellent service, very professional staff. The prices were fair, the work was done perfectly, and complete explanations of everything were given. In particular, they seem to try very hard to accommodate the schedules of their customers. This is an excellent dealership for service. Furthermore, with multiple experiences at the dealership, I can accurately say that they maintain excellent customer service again, again, and again. Highly recommended as a top class organization.

Jose, my service advisor, is always great to work with. He is attentive, professional, friendly and takes care of you and your car troubles. I had to take in my car for brake work and was able to have my car returned the very next day. Bernie, the sales manager, also provided me excellent and very attentive customer service while I was there, providing me VIP service answering all my questions regarding my current lease. It reminded me why I have had 5 leased Mini vehicles, so far, and definitely will be going on my 6th one in 2021 and will see Bernie for my next pick! Service was great, as usual. I purchased my CPO vehicle here in April 2018 with the Maintenance Program Upgrade Agreement and each visit has been a seamless and pleasant process. Jorge Gutierrez is my regular service advisor. Jorge is very attentive, knowledgeable, honest and pleasant. I typically have them arrange transportation for me to get to work, but because of the pandemic, that didn't happen this time. I waited in the showroom for the first half of my wait time, which was a little quiet. It needs a bit more ambience with either music or a television for entertaining. Other than that, I'm extremely satisfied with their service.

Five Starts! Highly recommended. Sales Manager Bernie Gutierrez was firm with the price and didn't call me the next day to try to negotiate. I then called Greg, he reduced the price and deal was closed. Salesperson Greg will surprise you if you just let him lead the way. He also made sure I received a detailed car plus oil service was done while waiting to picked up the car. Salesperson Mark is awesome! He loves serving your needs. Overall, I believe I got a great deal and enjoyed doing business with the above.

Mini of Universal City is by far the best dealership I've ever had the pleasure of doing business with. I've leased and serviced three Mini Cooper's through them over the years. But I never expected the level of care and concern I received after a motorcycle accident earlier this year left me with two shattered knee caps. Per my doctors I would be unable to drive a manual transmission for at least a year. I've only ever driven Coopers with manual transmissions because I love the way they handle.Unfortunately, I had twenty months left on my current lease on a car I could no longer drive. I reached out to Huw John, the general manager of Mini of Universal City, to see what my options were. I hoped there might be a chance to discount the financial burden I owed, but in the end I understood we had a contract and I would have to honor the terms of my lease. After all, my motorcycle accident and current health situation were no fault of Mini Of Universal City. Within a week, Huw had spoken to Mini Corporate about my situation and between them they offered to take back my current vehicle and get me into a new lease with no financial penalty or burden on me. They felt I had enough to deal with recovering from my accident.A week later my wife and I spent the morning with Mini motoring advisor Marc Perry who patiently showed us every available option. In the end we drove off in a new 2016 Mini Clubman, one that I could easily manage with my compromised situation and with a lease payment only slightly above what we were paying on our previous car. I always felt comfortable doing business with Mini Universal before, but never anticipated the level of personalized care and concern we received this time.Huw, Marc and sales manager JD Donnelson went above and beyond any expectations we had to ensure that my wife and I were happy and completely satisfied with our transition. They were under no obligation to be so accommodating in breaking my lease. They were simply doing what they could to help. It may sound cliche but it's true. When dealing with Mini of Universal City, you do feel like you're being treated like family. I can't thank them enough and I highly recommend going to them if you are in the market for a Mini.

The best dealership experience! I shopped quite a few different ones in search of my frost blue hardtop Misty. The team is always professional and courteous when I bring my car in for service. I have been leasing my mini for almost three years, in that time I've not once had a poor experience.. My car has needed repair no less than 5 times (drivers for whatever reason just LOVE to hit my car when it is parked) so I consider myself seasoned in this observation. I highly recommend Mini of Universal because you can buy or lease a car anywhere, but I haven't experienced the fun atmosphere or stellar service anywhere else at a dealership. Ever. And buying a car is a relationship y'all, whether you realize it or not. To drive my point home, I injured my spine this year and can no longer drive. Mini of Universal has gone above and beyond to help me w arrangements and getting through this tricky time. You do not find that anywhere, and that's a business worth supporting.

Honestly, I hate going into dealerships to buy car, I always hesitate to start talking to a sales advisor as they have a bad record of being "pushy" and dishonest, until I met Anthony Marshall yesterday and he totally changed my opion of this experience! While I've also had a pleasant sales experience at another SoCal MINI dealer, that place's service department turned out to be a huge source of frustration and wasted time.Universal City MINI however is different. From Sales (Anthony & Isabel) to Service (Billy & Tommy), they all care about the brand's products and their customers' satisfaction.I highly recommend this place.

Not going to lie. I had a miserable experience at Nick Alexander with my first Mini (the car was great but the sales and service experience was absolutely horrible) and as a result, was seriously considering NOT leasing a second Mini three years later. I decided to give another dealership a chance and I have to say I am glad I did. Anthony at Universal City Mini made the process so much less soul crushing than it was three years prior. I highly recommend you visit this dealership and work with Anthony and his team. You're welcome!

Our sales person Anthony Marshall was really nice, he was super friendly, spent a lot of time working with us, and gave us a great price - he got us to where we needed to get. Not too persuasive, but persuasive enough to get us to seal the deal then and there. We walked away really happy with our car, which is really awesome!

I walked into Mini and was quickly greeted by Anthony Marshall. I told him exactly what I was looking for and he quickly showed me where the car I was looking for was located. He did not try and up-sale me on anything. He was extremely knowledgeable and professional. By far the quickest most efficient car purchase of my life. If I am ever in the market to buy another Mini I would go back and seek Anthony. He Gives car salesman a good name.Thank you very much.

1.0 star rating 12/17/15First to ReviewBrought my '06 in for a no charge, company issued, recall repair which could not be done at my regular mechanic's. In addition to that repair, they told me I needed over $2100 worth of "urgent" repairs. I opted to get a second opinion and brought my car to my regular mechanic after they finished the recall job. Of the multiple things Mini of Universal City told me that my car needed to operate safely, only ONE of them was actually true. The other "issues" they identified did not exist! The repair job at my mechanic's cost me $500, a whole lot less than what Mini of UC was seeking to gaff me for! To tell a customer that their car needs work (and making it sound like a safety issue) that is not necessary is fraudulent and unethical. Prior to writing this review, I contacted Mini of UC's service department and HQ about this matter and received "we will look into it" as the only response. If your Mini is no longer covered by warranty, save yourself some money and bring it to a local, reputable mechanic for service.

After driving Chrysler/Dodge/Jeep vehicles my entire life, I happily made the choice to switch to a quality company with quality cars. Anthony helped me crunch numbers so I was able to turn in my current lease (Dodge Dart) which I was very unhappy with, and lease a new Mini Cooper S hardtop. Not only was it a great deal, but my insurance dropped almost $30.00 per month. I didn't feel rushed or pressured. The next day, Anthony called and followed up to make sure everything was taken care of and if I was happy with my car. Oh yeah, and I got a free T-shirt and a beer glass! It's the little things, ya know?

I walked in to lease a new 4 door Mini Cooper. Jason simply asked what I was looking for, didn't try to pressure or upsell me any extras. They found the British Racing Green 4 door I was looking for and a few days later I drove home a happy customer. Alex worked hard to get the price I wanted and Huw made sure I was happy with the results every step of the way. I'll definitely go to them again when the lease runs out. Everything was relaxed and easy, even the financing was a breeze.

I will be honest, it took awhile for me to decide on what kind of fun car I wanted to buy, and believe me when I say I test drove more then a few. I decided on the Mini Country Man because of one reason. Huw John, your General Manager. Because of him I'm driving the altimate fun car!!! And that's just the beginning of my awesome experience of buying my car. Not only buying my car went smoothly and so quickly. Leased a 2011 country man. At the end of lease we had to pay close to one thousand dollars on return fees. From past experiences with other luxury vehicles, like land rover and audi, I have never paid so much. I was charged $300+ for little dings less than 5 inches in diameter total sustained in the left side of the hood from possible careless people opening their doors. Secondly, the tire protection plan that we got was explained to us incorrectly because the tires were supposed to be only replaced if damaged and not worn...extra $300+ (but cost $2800 for the plan). Then the restocking fee, which I understand. But the other two charges were bogus. I will never lease from this company ever. Luxury car with the pedigree if a BMW? Both companies are overrated.

I get the game - come in, fall in love with the test drive, then get caught up in the mumbo-jumbo with the salesman and the manager and the finance guy until your head is spinning and you just want to leave, but you can't because they took your keys and you're stuck.Evidently Mini Universal City gets that too - and they get that it sucks, because they don't do that. In fact, my experience there was exactly the opposite.My girlfriend leased her last mini from Mini Universal City and needed (yes, needed), to upgrade from a manual to an automatic. We came in on a Monday morning and met Anthony, the salesman. Anthony digs cars.... and he knows his stuff. He explained everything that was different between the 2013 model we were turning in and the 2015 model we were driving (these cars are super-cool, btw.) Also Anthony is a fun guy to deal with.They appraised the 2013 car quickly, and presented an offer. We met JD in the sales office (who also really knows his stuff). They explained everything about the new lease. We needed a little time to think about it so we left.Over the next few days we communicated with Anthony via email and text. He always answered our questions quickly - even on his day off. I also had the pleasure of an email exchange with the General Manager of the dealership, Huw (yes, that's how you spell it.) Huw is also a no-nonsense guy who's committed to customer satisfaction. There was an issue with this lease that I felt the dealership could correct, and Huw did everything he could to make the deal work.We're both very busy so I asked if they would prep the car and have it ready for us after work (which was about 8pm.) The said no problem. We showed up, and we parked right next to a brand new grey 2015 Mini Cooper base with a moon roof, racing stripes and Union Jack on the roof. It was detailed and had a huge SOLD sign in the window....it was waiting for us.The check-in of the 2013 car and signing of the new lease took about 30 minutes (again, no nonsense.... JD had everything ready and Anthony got us going quickly.) Then Anthony stayed after closing to make sure my girlfriend knew what every knob and button did in the new car.I don't think our experience was unique at this dealership. When we arrived there was another couple leaving who couldn't stop saying "thank you" to JD in the sales office. They also drove off in a new Mini.So THANK YOU from us to Mini Universal City as well. If you stop by ask for Anthony or JD and I think you'll be really satisfied too.

I have been bringing my 2003 Mini Cooper to this dealership frequently over the years for various major and minor services, and I have been familiar with all of the "regimes". The current one is by far the best! Huw is the new GM and along with Tommy as head of service, and Phil as my fave service adviser, have taken spectacular care of my vehicle for this latest visit. I needed four new tires and got the best price available, as well as a transmission issue that was taken care of and sorted out far beyond my expectations of any dealership or service establishment. I can't say enough good things about this place! If you are a true Mini enthusiast, and your car is an older model, don't be afraid to bring it in to these guys. They will show you the same care that you have shown your car. They have a great respect for those of us with earlier model Minis as well as folks with newer ones. First-Class A-One!

My qualm is in regards to the customer service at this dealership-or i should say lack there of. The employee crowd here seems more in tune with the to-do on their cell phones than helping customers that walk in the door. I actually was not able to deal with anyone as nobody was there to help me. The only employee I saw was at some counter and completely ignored me. I guess I took a back seat to the attractive young man in front of me who Johanna seemed to be chatting up and exchanging information on his CELL PHONE. I heard no car convo/help just chit chat about weho nightlife.This is a place of business. Leave your personal lives at home and actually help customers who want to buy a car! I wanted to like this place as it was convenient to my home but I will give my business to someone who actually wants it/appreciates it!

talk about old school high pressure dealership. can we say slimy people working here. Dealt with two people some guy with an english accent, not even sure if it was real. Hew I think his name was and he pawned me off on to this other guy name Youhana who looked depressed, and like he didnt want to be there. I must say dude, looking depressed makes your business look bad. why dont you come back on your good days. they didnt seem like they even wanted to work on the numbers with me and my wife. almost like if we werent going to buy then and there, then they had no time for us. Youhana seemed unfriendly and kept looking at his cell phone throughout the whole time we were there and even at a couple points texted. are there no professional people/places these days. we left feeling like this place lives up to the bad car reputation, old school sleeze/high pressure. we went elsewhere and had amazing service

I took my car in to have a defective transmission replaced. They acted like they were giving me $10000.00 instead of replacing for free a defective item they knew they were obligated to replace due to 3 different class action lawsuits. They damaged my car and said it was like that when I got the car, blamed it on previous owner, and excess steering wheel turning. Charged me $381, original estimate was $355, technician told me you got $10K free just pay the $355, when I checked out the idiot cashier said the price difference was due to tax and I disagreed, she said its only $10. Then everyone got helped before me I had to wait 30 minutes for them to bring me my car even though I was there before 5 other people. While the service man, Randy, I dealt with was very polite I still left feeling like I got ripped off. After his statement that I got $10K free, I knew I would not walk out of there without paying for something. He also told me that the technician had taken my car home with him. Go to another dealership, im pretty sure its their goal to get the customer to pay for something no matter what.

After a a couple of horrible experiences with another Mini Dealer (South Bay), I called Universal Mini for help. Randy was a total Rock Star. He not only got everything fixed on my car, he had it done in less than 24 HRS. While the other dealer claimed parts were on back order and played games for weeks, he went above an beyond normal service. Thank you so much for all your help!

I had a great experience here and was really taken care of. Jeff Sellz went above and beyond to help me purchase my car. He worked with me and went the extra mile to make sure I got the car and even went out of his way to deliver it to me. What a great Service Experience I had the other day. Phil my Service writer was great, he's been my go to guy on a few occasions at the old premises down the road and have never really been inclined to write anything. But this whole recent experience made me realize the guy is a ' prized asset '. The new building is FABULOUS, its HUGE. I stood there like a kid looking at those great lifts - there is a great buzz at this place. I've been to a number of the local Mini dealers over time for Servicing and as a fan of the product, but the whole experience here is second to none. I followed Huw John to Universal Mini because of the excellent service that he provided in the past.I have always received friendly, informative and efficient service with each of my car transactions.He made certain that I received the same level of satisfaction with his sales team at Universal. My daughter hasn't made the final decision on which Mini she wants but, when she is ready, we will definitely make our purchase at Universal Mini.

Wow - Matt Roberts really helped me out. He's the Used Car Manager and with the use of all his wisdom in the Industry assisted me through the buying process. I regard myself as not the easiest of shoppers, and normally hate car shopping, but Matt is a credit to himself and the whole MINI of Universal City.His level of patience is beyond compare and the guy is a real Pro ! Thank you to all at the dealership that I ran into. You were a pleasure to work with. Great selection of used MINI's.

If you are looking for a MINI, I say go to MINI of Universal CityI found them to be the best in selection & price hands down. From great customer service to the new building (great atmosphere ..wow), it will totally surpass your expectations, how many car dealerships can anyone say that about????GO see Greg, you will be taken care of & you'll make a new friendthanks for all your help Greg, I LOVE MY mini-S

Went in to look at the Clothing and stuff to jazz up my MINI. What a great selection - New Store and everyone there that I came into contact with had so much Energy.Elizabeth Carlos was a Gem - Great knowledge of the accessories and I thoroughly enjoyed the whole experience !Would I go back ? Too right ! You won't keep me away from the place.

Went up for the soft opening a couple of weeks ago, went back a week later and bought a car. The whole process was great, from the sales team to the managers it was a great car buying experience. The new location and facility is first class. I had looked at cars at other dealerships but when I went to Mini Universal City they had the selection I wanted, the salesperson (Sam) were extremely friendly without being pushy, they walked me through my options on the cars as well as clearly explain the warranty and financing options before they had me commit. Tony in the finance department did a great job getting me a great deal that I was happy with. All in all a great experience and I would recommend anyone looking for a Mini to go to Universal City.

What a great Service Experience I had the other day. Phil my Service writer was great - he's been my go to guy on a few occasions at the old premises down the road and have never really been inclined to write anything - But this whole recent experience made me realize the guy is a ' prized asset '. The new building is FABULOUS - its HUGE - I stood there like a kid looking at those great lifts - there is a great buzz at this place - I've been to a number of the local MINI dealers over time for Servicing and as a fan of the product - but the whole experience here is second to none.My car was handed back to me like new, never been to a place before that the car looked like it had been fully detailed - Thanks all and especially a big thank you to Phil in Service. We went there because of Costco's recommendation. What a joke. The antithesis of the Costco experience. They wouldn't give us a price on our car, and wanted us to buy what they wanted to sell us, a call in their inventory. They actually ganged up on us. We left and were completely discussed with the experience. Stay away. They are the old time high pressure sales and management.

Everything went well once the car was in for service but working with the sales writer was a little strained. I did come late in the evening, which could have been the issue. The car was fixed and I was kept up-to-date on the status, mostly. I did have to call in occasionally to get updates.

we found the exact type of used mercedes glk we were looking for on cars.com at the mini universal dealer, which made me happy because when i was considering the countryman, i found everyone there to be so nice. they were awesome - we bought the car and had a better experience than at the mercedes dealers we had visited. love steve and the whole team at mini universal.

I purchased a pre-owned Mini from this dealership and was really pleased with their sales staff. We took delivery of the car and drove it home. We noticed the tires were a little grabby, and when we checked the tire pressure we were horrified to learn they let us leave the dealership with less than 10 psi in two of the tires, twenty in another and thirty in another. At first they were anxious to remedy the issue, but became defensive as talks went on. The service manager "Curt" became very defensive and frankly rude over the situation, basically denying their error. After taking it to a local tire shop as they requested they accused me of coaching the tire installer on what to tell the service manager. WTF! This is not a dealership to take your pride and joy to. These guys are interested simply in your money and frankly cannot deal with the fact they have issues in their service department. Go elsewhere. Perhaps South Bay Mini will treat your right.

The people here are reasonably nice. However, for such a small dealership (they have maybe 5 or 6 service bays) they seem inept in a Keystone Cop kind of way. For example, my keys were lost for a while (Where are the customer's keys? I dunno I thought you had them. Paging Bob, paging Bob, we need the keys. Bob: what keys? and on and on). On one visit for a power steering fan motor problem, the service manager (not Laurence, some other guy who I would be very surprised if he's still there) told the tech to replace the ENGINE electric fan simply because I told the manager that the noise sounded like the engine fan but was coming from the power steering unit! Wow! Of course, that meant another visit to the dealer and another rental car (they picked up the cost of the second car). I would stay away until this dealer gets a little more experience in their new location. Maybe that will help?
