Travis and Joe made buying a car at a dealership a great experience. Normally most dealerships trap you like an animal and ply you with trickery BUT NOT McDonald Motors! Travis was kind and inviting. Found in stock what I came in for which was a cheap 4x4 but after a bit of conversation he realized what I really wanted was a newer truck and with no pushing suggested that is what I should buy (2014 Ram Big Horn 4x4 Quad cab). Originally I was a bit disappointed on my trade in value but Joe worked with their wholesaler to get it up to an exceptable amount. Joe was "on the level" when dealing with and even going an "extra degree" working with my own financing. Joe went above and beyond what you would normally experience at a dealer. Thank you Joe. Travis makes you feel like he's been your friend forever instead of strangers just meeting. Thank you Travis for knowing what I really wanted and a NO PRESSURE Sale ! Even my first experience with the service and parts dept were great. Thank you David and crew.

We were looking to get a newer car. After looking around online for a while, we saw the chevy Malibu on their website. I called and asked if it was still available. We worked with Travis McManus, he said it was available and had it ready for us to test drive it when we got there. While we were test driving they looked at our car to let us know what we would get for a trade. We decided to buy it and Travis was great, it was so easy to do all of the paperwork and Travis made us feel very comfortable with the process. We will definitely buy from McDonald Motors again.

I stopped in without an appointment and asked to test drive a Ford Escape. They got it ready for me within a few minutes. I loved it. I told them what I had for a trade and what I wanted for a monthly payment. There wasn't any pressure to buy the car. They ran some preliminary numbers and made the numbers work with out any dickering or hassle. They let me take the car home for the night. I went back the next day and said I wanted to buy the car and within a few hours they had approved me for a loan with a 2.5% interest rate, gave me full trade for my car, paid off my previous car loan, had contacted my insurance company and processed all the paperwork. I left with my new car and the payment I wanted. Absolutely NO hassles. The best car buying experience I have ever had.

My wife and I have been looking for a used ford sport trac with all the horns and whistles, fully loaded in excellent condition. I found one online at Macdonalds, we went to the dealership the next day and found exactly what we wanted. Our salesman ( Joe ) was very helpful, without a hint of pressure, offered us a test drive. I asked if I could take it to our mechanic and have it checked out, without any hesitation he said yes. I don't know about anyone else, but that says volumes not only about the Ford truck, but the people behind the scenes that prepared it to go on the lot. Needless to say we bought it, and couldn't be happier about the whole buying experience. We will recommend Macdonalds to family and friends in the future. We were having our 2009 town & country serviced and as always looked at new cars on the lot. It usually takes us a year to complete research and purchase new. Really liked the options on the 2015s so became interested to maybe trade before a planned 5000 mile trip starting in a few days. We couldn't be more pleased working with Dan & Bill. Service..... it is the best.......Mcdonald Motors for years has performed inspections on my vehicles for the past 9 years. More often than not I took the vehicle home to repair what was legitimately identified by the technicians. I was always treated fairly and honestly. In those 9 years I did not pay for much other than the cost of the State inspection. Did not matter, I was treated like a regular customer. I even had some help from them troubleshooting a few problems. When it came time to finally purchase a Jeep Wrangler (I've owned two other used Wranglers), Macdonald Motors offered me what I felt was a very fair trade in deal. I did not need to look any further. We checked what was available for 2015 models and I finally settled on ordering a new 2016. Travis made the process easy and comfortable....I was never rushed. I felt like I completely understood everything I would be getting when we completed the order.I received prompt notifications and follow up through delivery. Receipt of the vehicle was made easy, McDonald Motors handled the majority of the paperwork, all I had to do was sign a few documents and complete the registration.I've had the vehicle for just over 2 weeks and it has not only met but exceeded my expectations. Certainly thanks go out to David, Paul and the entire service department..... you are the ones who kept me coming back. Travis and Dan, you saw me through the sales process.This may be the first vehicle I have purchased at Mcdonald Motors but I am certain it will not be the last. It is very refreshing to do business with people who are in it "for the long haul."

For the past 9 years I have only had my vehicles inspected at Mcdonald Motors, and more often than not, completed my own repairs because I can. Over in the service department David and Paul have always worked with me and I can say the entire crew in the service department treated me no differently because they were only inspecting my vehicles, finding things I would miss, than those folks who actually have their cars repaired at the dealership. For a lot of years Mcdonald motors did not get much business from me, but I was always treated with respect and professionally. Because I know my way around vehicles, I can honestly say, if a Mcdonald's mechanic recommended something needed to be fixed, it needed to be fixed. When I finally had some repair work done at the dealership, it was on time and correctly performed. I cannot say enough good things about the service department. One day about 2 years ago I stopped by Dan's office to complement him on the performance of the service department. I told him he had not sold me a vehicle yet, but that day was coming. I finally came in looking to trade in a Jeep Wrangler I owned and purchase a new one off the lot this year. Long story short, I ended up ordering a 2016 Wrangler instead. I worked with Travis on this and feel I ended up with a fair deal on exactly the vehicle I wanted. Travis was great to work with and I felt I had a great understanding of everything I wanted and would get. He took all the time I needed, I never felt rushed during the process. I recently picked up the vehicle and not only has it met my expectations, but exceeded them. I will certainly be back to purchase another vehicle from Mcdonald Motors.

I recently purchased a 2015 Grand Cherokee after comparing Ford and Subaru models. I can't be more satisfied. It drives like a dream and has many, well designed features. Our family has been doing business with Macdonald motors for years.After more then a handful of new car/trucks and jeeps we were happy to go back again last week to trade in a truck towards our new jeep. We have found years ago that doing business with a smaller home town dealership can provide premier service,along with very competitive pricing on a personal level, compared to going to a mega-dealership in the city. Poor communication between Brian and David. We were initially told body work would take 2.5 hrs. We were then told it would take a full day because of painting. We were told to leave it on Tuesday and pick it up on Thursday at noon. So we rented a car for twoi days. In the end, the work only took 2.5 hrs, we rented a car for no reason which cost us 22 Dollars for insurance and 10 Dollars of gas. We had to rent the car in N.Conway which took us another 2 hours of driving. All because of poor communication and no apology .

While visiting the Fryeburg Fair, we saw a vehicle that MacDonald's Motors had on display. We contacted the dealership and wanted information on a Ford Taurus they we featuring along with a Jeep Cherokee. a helpful salesman by the name of Oakley was very helpful at the MacDonald's Ford dealership. We also wanted to test drive the Jeep. Oakley was kind enough to have a Jeep brought from their other dealership in Bridgeton. We test drove the Jeep and decided to purchase the one at the Fair. Dan MacDonald at the Bridgeton dealership finalized the deal. It was without a doubt the very best car buying experience of my life. When it comes to customer service, I can tell you that MacDonald Motors has set the standard for all other dealers to follow. Our buying experience was perfect. My wife and I were new to Bridgton a year and a half ago and inquired about trading vehicles with Macdonald Motors then and although the numbers didn't work for us personally at that time, we knew we'd go back when the time was right for us. We recently did go back, as doing business locally is important to us, and it was very clear that doing business with "locals" is equally as important to them. Travis McManus, our salesman and Dan Macdonald, the owner were wonderful to work with and applied absolutely no pressure one way or another. What was also a great experience was to be taken around the dealership and introduced to all of the department heads, office staff and any other employee that we crossed paths with and be genuinely acknowledged and congratulated on our purchase. I went in to Macdonald Motors for repair on my Chrysler Pacificer The service was great. The next day i decided to see what they could do for me on buying a new Dodge Grand Caravan, I called Travis McManus whom i had bought the Pacificer from 3 years ago. Long story short Travis in my mind pulled off a mericale. He got me a great interest rate, the payment i was looking for and the vehicle my wife and i wanted. Very pleasant experience. When we had our Pacifiicer my wife took it in for service, it was taking longer than they offered to get her lunch while she waited. that was going above and beyond in service . My family and are here in Maine on vacation and had unfortunate car trouble which lead us to this Jeep Dealership and so lucky we did:) I just want to say how grateful I am for Paul who fit us in after noone in the surrounding area would and understood what a true emergency is! McDonald's is a exactly what other dealerships should be striving to be like. Friendly, no pressure, helpful & knowledgeable. I had three ecodiesel 1500's I was looking at on Saturday. I was very grateful I started here. They put a plate on the truck, handed me the key and said take it for a ride. When I got back, my wife and I were asked how we liked it and if we had any question about the truck. No pressure, no nonsense no bull. We had bought a used Dodge Durango from Tim Morton at Macdonald Motors several years ago. It was the best car I ever had. Never let me down once! It was every thing Tim said and more. We drove it to Arizona towing a loaded trailer and back to Maryland then back to Maine. When it was time for a new vehicle, we once again went back to Macdonald Motors. It had been several years of us living away. We hoped Tim was still there. He was to our delight. That says a lot about a company when the employees continue to work there for years. Tim was very patient with us as my husband and I had different ideas on what we wanted to buy this time. Tim never once hurried us or pushed us to buy anything we were not sure about. He answered every question we asked about each car we tried. In the end, we came home with the Durango of our dreams and Tim did everything possible to make it happen after we decided on that car. He worked above and beyond what other sales people have done in the past in other places. We love the friendly family atmosphere. We will be back!!

Went into Dealership after Shop was closed, found front door open, walked in and met The Owner Dan McDonald at his desk. Talked, told him I wanted to look at a Ram 1500 Diesel Truck, ( 2 in Stock,)went for a test drive in lower priced vehicle, came back and told him I wanted to do a deal on the vehicle. We went through the paperwork, agreed a price on my trade in, and within the hour, I was the owner of a New Dodge Ram 1500 Diesel. Had a great experience! Salesperson (Travis) wasn't pushy or trying to steer us toward something else. We got exactly what we wanted and at a great price! Financing, insurance, temporary registration was handled right there and we drove away in the new Jeep the same day.It was the least stressful buying experience I have ever had in purchasing a car!! I would definitely shop there again and have recommended them to our neighbors.

While shopping around for a lease on a new vehicle, I contacted at least three Dodge dealerships in Maine. Macdonald Motors was the only dealership to offer me a competitive price based on the calculations I obtained from the official Dodge website. I performed my own calculations based on MSRP listings and the offered lease money factor (LMF), and I'm very pleased with my lease experience so far. It has only been less than two weeks since my lease began, but I presently have no regrets and I have every intention of returning to Macdonald motors every three years for a new lease. Provided these positive experiences continue, I'll be returning to Macdonald motors for all of my future vehicle leasing/purchasing decisions. They were very friendly and attentive to my questions and concerns, and made the leasing process seem simple and efficient. Their apparent integrity is also an attribute worthy of praise.

We just bought a previously owned Grand Caravan and it feels brand new. We have been having our previous car serviced at Macdonald Motors regularly. The service team are knowledgable and as concerned about our car as we are. They always give a thorough explanation of findings, make suggestions, but never force a decision. In 1998 I moved to northern NH from Portsmouth. At the time I was driving a nearly new Ford Taurus. The automatic gear shift lever was coming loose so I took the car, still well under the Ford factory warranty to MacDonald Motors Ford in Conway, NH. The service writer looked me up and down carefully as he'd never seen me before. When I told him I needed warranty work performed he went on an absolute maniacal rant because I'd bought my car in my old neighborhood in southern NH and not at MacDonald Motors. I assured him when I lived in Portsmouth, NH I'd never heard of MacDonald Motors and it shouldn't matter anyhow. He threw me out of the service department and told me, "You should have thought about that before you bought your car in the city." I had to fix the problem myself in my unheated garage at around 10 degrees F in the dead of winter. I've lived in the mountains now for some 15 years. In that time I've bought a few cars but I will NEVER buy one from MacDonald Motors. Those people haven't a shred of common sense or common decency. Forget them. Go the city and get a better deal and be treated with respect.

I bought a new Jeep Wrangler at Macdonald Motors in Bridgton, ME and couldn't be happier. Tim Mofrton, the salesman, was great to deal with. I didn't feel pressured and all my questions were answered..The Jeep came in three weeks early and was just what I wanted. I'll deal with them again........

Came in to service my wife's Jeep and the service manager Dave Eaton suggested driving the Chrysler 300 C on the lot. We asked Bill Macdonald if we could and he produced a license plate and the keys. The car performed well, we were impressed by the quiet ride but responsive engine. Dan Macdonald took over when we got back to see if we were interested in the vehicle and did we want an estimate and if we had a trade in. Latter in the week we brought in our trade in for an appraisal and quote.The deal was great but we needed time to think it over. At no time were we pressured or given the hard sell, they all were very professional. Dan called a few days later and added another incentive on our trade in and we decided to purchase the Chrysler.

My wife brought her Jeep in for service and I bought a new Chrysler 300 C. When we arrived the service manager, Dave Eaton, was asking if we liked the new Jeep and after answering positively he suggested I drive the Chrysler 300 C. We asked Bill Macdonald if we could test drive the 300 and he produced the keys and tags. The rest was history. Dan Macdonal made an offer we could not resist. Great dealership.

I wish to preface this by saying in my work experience I have been a fleet manager for a top 100 National banking firm, and a County Transit Director. I have probably purchased almost 100+ vehicles in my lifetime (mostly Chryslers and Dodges), and without a doubt this dealership is the MOST CORRUPT, UNDERHANDED, SLIMIEST COMPANY WITH WHICH I HAVE EVER ASSOCIATED!. The story begins with my purchase of a used 2003 Ram 3/4 ton truck w/71,000 miles I purchased with a plow accessory. The vehicle was purchased in late July 2011 and used only when neccessary throughout Winter 2011 (it was occasionally started up and driven a mile or two to keep it running properly). Overall, it had less than 200 miles on it from the time of my purchase when I returned to this dealership to have the yearly safety inspection performed and a slight leak in the plow hydraulics to be repaired. It was REFUSED on the explanation that the ENTIRE exhaust system needed to be replaced! I was informed also the fan continued to remain on and needed replaced (in addition to what I had originally brought it to them to do). The entire bill I was told would be $1400! I was extremely irritated at this and questioned how the entire exhaust went bad when THAT dealership ITSELF had passed it only a scant 200 miles prior. I was told "because I let it sit". After complaining how ridiculous the suggestion was, I was given a "generous" 25% discount on repair of the exhaust system only. I allowed them to perform the repairs anyway, despite the obvious deceptions (the service manager wouldn't even look me in the eye when he used the "it sat" excuse). After returning home with the vehicle, I was forced to place it into regular use immediately (my other vehicle suddenly developing a brake light/sensor problem). Immediately after driving the vehicle only to and from my workplace (2000 FEET from my house!) there was a tremendous leak coming from the plow in the same place as previous: only, this time, the leak was the size of my fist DAILY! I have 5 huge oil spots in an otherwise clean parking lot to prove this happened (and took pictures as well as obtained witnesses). Upon returning the vehicle to the dealership, I was informed there was no leak! They couldn't find it, they said, even after sitting there on their lot for 5 days! When I said I was going to get the vehicle SUDDENLY a leak was found! It seems that they parked the vehicle in the shade of their garage but when they placed it out in the sun, the leak appeared! They claimed that there was some type of weld spot that had given way to cause the leak. The leak wasn't there, of course, BEFORE they saw the vehicle the FIRST time, but it was there after they took the plow off and fixed the hydraulic leak. But, of course, they didn't do anything to cause the second leak, so I had to pay ANOTHER $240 to fix the SECOND leak! As God is my witness, those are the EXACT, INDISPUTABLE FACTS of what occurred and I welcome them to deny it! NEVER, NEVER, NEVER BUY A VEHICLE FROM THESE PEOPLE OR LET THEM WORK ON YOURS! The sleaziest den of crooks and thieves I ever ran across in my life!
