i went to Hyundai of New Bern to my car's transmission fluid flushed and refilled and the service was awesome! in the one hour time frame it took them to service my car, i got to walk around the lot and showroom and checked out the new and used cars they had on sale that day. my car now runs great with fresh fluid in the transmission and i love it. i am staying with the Hyundai brand for life! 🙂

Hyundai of New Bern in my estimation can serve as an example for other dealerships representing other products -- as its personnel staff is so very well-informed on all of the product line, is reliable, honest, open and well-respected. In each of our prior four purchases, we have consulted with Tommy Jones for whom we have the utmost respect. One last, but important point is that Mr. Jones closes with "Please call me with any questions ....." and I and my wife have, and he has always responded.

My last four cars for Hyundai's and this is the first time I bought down in North Carolina. This dealership was clean and the people were extremely nice. Tommie, our salesman was extremely pleasant soft spoken and actually funny at times. We not only talked about cars but we talked about serving time in the army and other things in life. And once again thank you Tommie protecting our country. They went by our schedule one we could be there when we couldn't be there. The car was ready for us whenever we were ready. I would recommend this dealership to anyone that wants to have a hassle free experience.

Amber Doyle was excellent! She began by sharing with us the safety features of the vehicle, from under the hood through to the rear. She was not pushy or over-bearing, presenting information as education rather than a sales pitch. The financial dealings were neither lengthy nor stressful, and it seemed they really listened to & took into account our wishes and constraints. Annika was professional & thorough though personal. Having visited several car dealerships in the previous few days, my husband & I were not only weary & exhausted with the pressure but almost reluctant to stop at even one more dealership, however this car buying experience was the most pleasant ever. Amber really SOLD the car and did so in a way that made us feel she was helping us find & buy the car We wanted, rather than helping herself make a sale.... the way car-buying Should Be! Thank you

it was better then the last hyundia dealer ship in Jacksonville NC. Would have bought a car from there , was pushed around and given double talk. they wanted me to buy the car they wanted to sell and not the one I was looking at and for more than the sticker price was worth. I talked with jimmy mccloud down new bern and got a better deal and a fair price on the car I bought. just wanted to say thank you jimmy for all your help. you have good people down in new bern NC . I will tell everyone I meet looking for a new car to go an check out what they are selling.

If you want to pay much more than you should, be told you're wrong about your car choices, and be lied to then this is the place to go. I ended up getting my car from the Hyundai dealership in Fayetteville because, unlike New Bern, they were honest, friendly, and helpful. The only person I spoke to at the Hyundai Of New Bern dealership that wasn't as rude was Amber. Everyone else just seems like they're out to get you and your money. They don't care about you, not one bit, so be careful if you do decide to come here. They'll say they'll work with your prices just to get you in the door. But once you're in there, they don't really work with you at all. They just tell you you're wrong about what you want. Very disappointed. I'm just glad I went with my gut and went elsewhere. I got the car I was interested in but at a much better price.

James was my salesman and answered all my questions and went over every button in the car. He was very patient and didn't make me feel rushed or like I was wasting his time , however the rest of the staff was lacking! The sales managers and finance manager weren't very friendly, no one thanked you for purchasing the car, they were unprofessional and didn't really act like they cared about my business. If I could do it over I would do it else where.

me and my wife went into the location with a vehicle in mind and one to trade as well. loved the vehicle and told them that we were going through the bank for financing. we looked at the value through nada and it came up to 11500 and they offered us 10500 for it. we were ok with the 1000drop in price. once the paper work was done they short handed us down to 8000. they are crooks!! do not go there!!

Great experience with this dealership! I usually research everything on a car ahead of time, so the sale was easy for them. : ) I was quoted a great price on an Elantra in which I was interested, and I decided to buy the Elantra Limited instead because I received a great quote on it, too. I love this car and enjoy driving it! Annika returned my initial email in about five minutes, and my salesperson, Lee, was attentive and made sure I knew about every part of the car. Financing was quick and thorough. Inside the dealership itself is comfortable but not terribly attractive. However, I did hear that a new building is going to be built for the dealership within the coming year, so I'm looking forward to taking the car to get it serviced at a new building. I was in and out of the dealership within an hour and a half. I have never bought a car so easily and so quickly. I would definitely recommend this dealership to anyone looking to buy a Hyundai!

Went in for a gently used car, and without pressure it was suggested we could do a new one and still stay in our price range. I have a physical condition that needed special requirements for me to drive the vehicle, and they were very considerate of this situation. The customer waiting area needs a little make over, but all were very nice, love my new Sonata!

THE WAY BUSINESS SHOULD BE DONE!!!I took my car in for it's 3 month service to make sure it was ready and clean to take my daughter off to college. The gentleman at the service desk was very informative and personable. I did not remember that the first oil change was free so that was a nice surprise, I just remember the salesman saying something about I could bring my car in once a year for the next 3 years to have it cleaned or something to that effect. I've gotten a little lazy over the years. The service sheet stated I received a 3750 serv change and filter etc.($0.00), walk around ($0.00), WASH AND VACUUM ($0.00) and rotate tires ($16.95). That was a good deal. The service guy at the desk read my sheet back to me and I paid my bill. I noticed the car didn't look to clean on my way out to it and sure enough it had not been clean. Needless to say I was bummed, I'm normally the kind of guy that doesn't say anything when I get disappointed, but I went inside to inform the lady that it was not clean, but I was dropped off at lunch and I had to hurry back to work. I don't know if anything was said or done. I guess I could have called, but that just not me. It was just a free wash and vacuum so I guess I got what I paid for. So I'll spend my Saturday morning cleaning the car for my girl, but that's the last they will probably see of me because everybody knows if you complain about anything then you are the bad guy. We do love the car and will purchase another one from? Hyundai of New Bern BECAUSE THEY TOTALLY REDEEMED THEMSELVES. The service manager called me the next morning, apologized for the over site, and sent a gentleman 12 miles to my house to pick up the car, detail the car, and return it. The car looked great!!!!! My daughter got home that afternoon and loved her clean car now she is ready to leave for college. My son will graduate from high school in 3 years and with service like this I will only visit one place to make a purchase. In fact he has already told me what kind of car he wants.

Wonderful experience! Unbeatable price on the vehicle, great customer service. They price matched the vehicle, within a 500 mile radius, to make sure we got the best deal. We were very happy and satisfied with our experience.

The staff at Hyundai of New Bern is great to work with. I was very satisfied with my 2008 Lexus purchase. They have a great variety of new and used vehicles. I was not rushed on my purchase, however, they were very willing to answer questions and spend time with me. I plan to use their service department for maintenance and come back for future purchases! Thanks again to Jeff Standish and Bob Strickland for your help!

I worked with Anika for three days trying to get a car bought and shipped to me. I had agreed on price and Anika the Sales manager was working on how we would split shipping. On the evening of the third day a man named Patrick called to tell me that Anika had made a mistake and that the car was on hold to be sold! I talked to Annika the next day and they ar now trying to locate another car for me. I do appreciate the effort to make things right.

I love their service department and have never had a problem with them. On the other hand, In my humble opinion the new F&I guy is losing Mr Strickland Money! I offered a reasonable amount for a pre-owned vehicle to include the difference for my trade in. I researched this using many sources over the net. From my research, they would have made at least three to four thousand on the trade in plus the finance percentage for the new buyer. They would have made another three to four thousand plus the finance percentage for the loan on the vehicle I wanted to purchase! I asked them to prove me wrong, if they were going to lose money show me the invoice for the vehicle I wanted to purchase. I was told it doesn't matter what they paid, it's all about fair market value. If that were the case they would not have low (three thousands below market value) balled me on my trade in. Mr Strickland, I know you are running a business and not in the habit of giving away vehicles, but you might want to tell your F&I guy how much of a profit is enough.

DO NOT GO HERE! THEY ONLY CARE ABOUT THE SALE! My husband and I went here for a used car. We made arrangements to see a car and called everyday to make sure the car was still there until we could make the 2 hour drive there. We get there, immediate get told the car was sold...even after calling ON THE WAY THERE to make sure it was still there. We were lied to numerous times. We told them our price limit and that we were not budging. They kept trying to push financing a more expensive car. We text drove one he promised to "make in our price range"....we drove it and decided to get it. We get inside and they tell us 1,000's over our price range. I don't know what they didn't get about us saying we were going any higher than our set price...then push for us to finance the other 1,000's. I total get they are a dealership and want to rip you off and make the sale, but this was ridiculous. They got our hopes us for the original car we wanted, for it to be sold. Then got our hopes up text driving another car we wanted, just to lie about the pricing. It was a horrible experience and a waste of hours of our lives. NEVER AGAIN!

I drove 400 miles to Hyundai of New Bern to buy my 2013 Veloster Turbo. It was the closest one available at the time in that configuration. There was another one within 50 miles, but they tried charging $2000 over MSRP and $600 dealer fee, in addition to lying, deceiving, and playing games.Hyundai of New Bern gave me a price over the phone that was under MSRP, which is impressive considering there were only a few of these cars out and most dealerships were adding markup. I was apprehensive going so far to get my car, especially after the horrible experience at my local dealer. But everything went as smoothly as it could. Everyone was very friendly and helpful and were going out of their way to help me. There were no hidden fees and they never changed their story. They drafted all the papers ahead of time, including everything needed for my state (not NC). They also accepted the recent graduate and Motozuma discounts without an issue. I signed the papers and was out of the dealership within an hour. In addition, they were very responsive after the purchase as well. My state took forever to process the paperwork, so my dealer temporary tags expired before my regular plates came in. I called New Bern and they called my state and took care of it, even though the delay wasn't New Bern's fault and they didn't owe me anything at that point.After the depressing experience at my local dealer, Hyundai of New Bern was refreshing and made car-buying actually enjoyable. The owner of the dealership and the employees really seemed to care about their customers.

This service department is very unprofessional. I recently purchased a 2012 Sonata from a competing dealership in Goldsboro, NC. My stereo stopped working today. When i spoke to the service department, the first question they asked was, "where did you purchase your car?" When i told them Goldsboro, the department rep told me that they wouldn't be able to look at my car until next Thursday or Friday, but if I should try Goldsboro and they might be able to get me in today or tomorrow. I live less than 4 miles from the New Bern dealership. I don't see why i should have to drive 50 miles to get some basic warranty work completed. If anyone else from the New Bern / Jacksonville area is looking for a Hyundai, i would recommend making the drive to Goldsboro. I saved almost $3,000 on my vehicle and their service department was able to get me a next day appointment.

I bought a 2006 Nissan Altima at Hyundai of New Bern on May 7, 2011, and we shook on an agreement that my payments would be $137.00 for 6 months with the first payment deferred for 2 months. After the 6 months the loan would be renegotiated for a lower interest rate. I received my first bill from Wells Fargo Bank stating that my 1st payment would be due on June 21st for $239.00!! TOTALLY different from the agreement I shook on. I didn't read the papers I signed because I trusted them. GREAT BIG MISTAKE!!!
