Certified car has many issues. Brought it in for service twice. Service manager absolutely horrible. Refused to give me his name and refused to give me a business card and was bordering on violently rude to me . Don't trust or believe anything that they said or did. Taking it to my own mechanic today. I am afraid to drive the car long distance.

Very good customer service by everyone we dealt with. We let Eric know where we wanted to be payment wise, and he and his team did what they could to get us pretty close to it. The features of the vehicle were explained very well by Dan. We are very happy with our purchase, and feel very satisfied with our overall experience. We purchased a Subaru Outback from Charlie's a little over a year ago, and have had our oil changes done there. The maintenance staff are very helpful and friendly as well. We would recommend Charlie's to family and friends for sure.Pellerins

I bought a used 2014 GMC Sierra from Charlie's and the whole transaction went very well. They modified the truck to the way I wanted it for no cost. Two weeks later I ran into some issues and everything was taken care of AAA service!

I wanted to trade my car for a larger vehicle. Nelson Peterson kept an eye open and called me a couple of times when they had something they thought I would like. Once I found a vehicle they handled everything! A couple of weeks after purchase I was uncomfortable about a "noise" and Nelson arranged for me to take it to Charlie's Jeep to be checked. Those folks were also great. Nelson Peterson, terrific guy. He always seemed pleased to see me even if he was probably thinking "Oh no, not her again". Jed Crommett, nice young man. Eric Lindholm, took care of the financing and paper work. Heidi Laliberte, at Jeep, ordered and mailed a Jeep manual to me because the previous owner was unable to find his. The service department at Charlie's Chevy in Winthrop are great guys. I have been going there to have my Subaru serviced since they opened. This Jeep is my third Charlie's purchase.

My husband and I decided it would be best if I got an AWD vehicle. So we went to Charlie's of Winthrop. I have to say that was the absolute best experience I have ever had buying a car. This is the third vehicle we have purchased at Charlie's. This dealership is a little out of the way and definitely smaller. The facilities were very clean and well kept. Would have preferred a little more privacy instead of sitting at open tables. Overall the experience was very good and the staff were very accommodating. Thank you!

We are long time customers of this Chevy dealership. Prior to becoming Charlie's it was Barrows Chevrolet. We were a bit uneasy when the dealership was sold to Charlie's however they gained our trust quickly and we have purchase quite a few vehicles from them under the new ownership. Had the day off so decided to take a ride up to Winthrop to check out the selection at Charlie`s , was only going to look .....as I had purchased a 2015 Colorado in Sept but found it to be " not what I wanted " it was still new and didn't think I would be able to work out a good deal because of this situation . Much to my surprise I left with a New 2016 Silverado 4WD LT !! Couldn't believe they worked with me and we were able to come to fair deal ! Peter took the time to listen to what I wanted and it was a stress free process :) Certainly something to say about the smaller hometown dealers as I bought the 2015 Colorado at a larger dealer and it was not the best buying experience. Thanks to the crew at Charlie's and I am looking forward to having my routine maintenance done there ! Really Love the Silverado and finding places to go this weekend just to drive it ....Great Truck !!

Let me say I have bought 4 cars from the Charlie's family of dealers. I won't go anywhere else, because their great. They know their vehicles, they don't pressure you or chase you around the lot like some dealers, and their always willing to go the extra distance to make you happy even if you don't buy a car. My husband and I had an amazing experience with Peter G over in Winthrop, if you want a down to earth, easy going, honest person you need to go see Peter he made our day. I truly wasn't looking to buy a car when I showed up in the lot, but they sold me a beautiful 2012 equniox without any sale pressure. So if your looking for some down to earth, friendly, and knowledgeable salespeople do hesiate to swing by and see Peter and the guys at Charlie's of Winthrop.

Started to look at the options to trade my 2006 Tacoma Double Cab for a used Access Cab model. Local Toyota dealership did not have a used Access Cab on the lot and did not offer to locate one, thus lost a sale. Checked online - found a Tacoma at Charlies. Started an email conservation on Saturday and visited the dealership on Tuesday. Arrived at 4 PM and left at 6:30 PM with the desired Tacoma. Sales staff very friendly and showed me other Tacomas available. I was offered a fair trade-in value for my 2006. Finance staff very knowledgable and left with a warranty that suited my driving needs. Good to know there are dealerships that are customer focused.

I had read a lot of reviews about the new Colorado and stopped by "just to check it out". The guys were really good, let me take my time, recommended that I also try a full size too. I asked about possibly trading in two vehicles (a 2014 Tacoma and a 2012 Equinox) and they were glad to accommodate my needs. I ended up with a new (really nice) Z71 Colorado and went from two car payments to one (that was lower than the other two combined). I felt that they used me very well on the overall transaction, and will certainly recommend Charlie's to my friends.

Our first visit we didn't know what kind of car we wanted. We were just seeing what was out there. Charlie's was friendly but not "pushy". We went to a several other dealerships. Once we decided on what vehicle we wanted, we went online to see what dealerships had a used 2015 or 2014 Ford Edge. Charlie's had a used 2014 Ford Edge so I called to see if they still had it. By the time we got to the dealership they had it ready for a test drive. They also evaluated our trade in while we were on our 2 hr test drive. Again they were not pushy, we listened to their offer and once we came to an agreement the transaction went smoothly. It helped that we already had financing lined up with our local credit union. Thank you Jeffery for the great experience!! 10 days post purchase and we are very happy with the vehicle!

Just want to drop a note about the great purchase I made at Charlie's Chevrolet in WinthropI had been looking at vehicles in the area for awhile, stopped in to visit my son who introduced me to Jeff Krantz ( sales rep.). We have been buying vehicles from Charlie's Chev (previously Barrows Chev) for 30 years and have been working with Eric Lindholm for almost all of those years. Shopping for vehicles can be very stressful but when you are treated like family it can be a wonderful experience. Now we work with Eric and Kevin and they are the very best. When I walk in a am greeted with a hug not a handshake. The service department is also very good to work with because again they know us and we know them. Buying a new car is one of the necessary evils that you have to do once in a while. Its a bit like going to the dentist, you dont want to go but you know you have to take the pain to get results. So it was my turn and the first time in 9 years that I was going to have to look at cars. I make up my mind really quickly what I wanted. The Chevy Traverse was only the 3rd car Id looked at and the first serious evaluation. I could write an essay on my experience talking to 4 Chevy dealers, like being told for 3 days that one had the exact car I wanted and when I turned up to purchase the car, it wasnt there. It had never been there either. Ill pass on the rest of the details on this as it will detract from what Im meant to be doing which is reviewing Charlies Chevy dealership. Charlies had never been at the front of my mind, Id seen their ads on TV and they are all very nice and all of that, but I always figured that they were just a little too far away.After being totally mucked about by the dealer that shall not be named and having a really odd conversation on the phone with their sales manager who just didnt want to sell me a car, I needed to move fast and that same day I spoke to the sales manager Tom at Charlies Chevy. I told him about the SUV I wanted to trade, I told him the 3 prices that other dealers had given me for my incredibly clean low mileage vehicle and we talked about what he could do for me with a Traverse. He had a couple inc a 2LT which I really wanted to see. My plan was a 39month lease. I wanted a dealer I could work with, one I could trust that would treat me right both now and in the future. This was in my mind, not a onetime deal. In 39 months I would plan to get my next vehicle from them as well if it all worked right. Tom gave me a per month cost over the phone for the Traverse based on my description of my current car .It was right at the top end of what I wanted to spend, but for the right car was doable. . I also got a decent trade in value on my SUV sight unseen. This encouraged me to make the journey down.When I got to Charlies the next morning, I fell in love with the 2LT, it was the right car both inside and out, dont bother showing me anything else. This is the one, the new car that I was willing to give up my incredibly reliable, never let me down 9 year old SUV for. Ok lets do the dealI went on a test drive and whilst that was going on, Charlies were going to value my trade. I get back and its time to look at the numbers. This next bit was the final clincher for me. The Traverse I was wanting was a little more expensive than others Id seen. I had no movement on the monthly figure I wanted to spend. Would I of walked away from the deal if Charlies all of a sudden gave me a monthly figure that was much higher than what I was quoted over the phone? Yes as the car wouldnt be doing that much mileage and I would have just spread my net further and gone to look at other brands as time went on.But no there was no need to do that as Tom stuck by the monthly cost he quoted me. It meant they had to add about $2k to the trade in value on my current car, but it got the deal done; right there and then, no messing about. I would have been an idiot to turn down the money they offered me for my trade. Deal done and Im incredibly happy. I love my Traverse. Ill add another point too. I couldnt check the Traverse over on the day I bought it. It was storming outside and I did need to get back home for an appointment. The car was back at Charlies 10 days later to have some really nice looking chrome sidesteps added to aid my getting in and out (more on that in a sec). I had the steps added and drove back into Augusta for an appointment. After that I decided to do a check of the car to make sure everything like paint etc was in perfect order. OMG.. There were stone chips all over the front and a scratch on the back. I was gutted that I hadnt looked before but as I had faith in Charlies I drove all the way back to their base in Winthrop, saw Tom and the service manager and showed them the problems, reminded them of the storm on the day I bought it and they just said, well take care of it.. That was reassuring that I made the right decision to come to Charlies. They told me to go back to Augusta to the crash repair centre and I saw the manager and its all going to be taken care of for me. I like that a lot. Back to the chrome side steps. They retailed about $650 inc install. I got them to add it to the lease to increase the residual value of the car which should work well for me when I take it back in 39months and its time to trade again. It costs me just $8 a month. X that by 39 months and its only costing me $312. That half price! I just look at them as $2 a week.. Great deal there as well So if you have made it this far, you know what Im going to say. Go to Charlies and they will look after you, treat you right and fair, not just before and during the deal being done, but afterwards too. Im very happy indeed.. I love my new 2LT TraverseOh and the dealer that shall not be named? You better believe it that I emailed them the very next day and requested that the sales manager get my email with pics of my new Traverse..

I had the steps added and drove back into Augusta for an appointment. After that I decided to do a check of the car to make sure everything like paint etc was in perfect order. OMG.. There were stone chips all over the front and a scratch on the back. I was gutted that I hadnt looked before but as I had faith in Charlies I drove all the way back to their base in Winthrop, saw Tom and the service manager and showed them the problems, reminded them of the storm on the day I bought it and they just said, well take care of it.. That was reassuring that I made the right decision to come to Charlies. They told me to go back to Augusta to the crash repair centre and I saw the manager and its all going to be taken care of for me. I like that a lot. Back to the chrome side steps. They retailed about $650 inc install. I got them to add it to the lease to increase the residual value of the car which should work well for me when I take it back in 39months and its time to trade again. It costs me just $8 a month. X that by 39 months and its only costing me $312. That half price! I just look at them as $2 a week.. Great deal there as well You know what Im going to say. Go to Charlies and they will look after you, treat you right and fair, not just before and during the deal being done, but afterwards too. Happy!!

We looked around on Sunday and found what we were looking for. The next step was to talk to a salesperson. it took the morning, but they were very confident they could place us in the truck we wanted that day. They were correct. we got a bit better deal then we were expecting. we were after a lease, and they did it. Very satisfied with the personel at Charlie's Chevy in Winthrop. If I do get another, I will beback.

I hadn't had my car that long, and I really wanted to get a different one. I knew my current one was in negative equity, so I had my doubts about being able to get it work so I didn't have too much roll over. Charlie's Chevrolet went above my expectations and helped me easily get into a different car that I love while still being happy about my payment. I'd recommend them to everyone!

My Husband and I had been looking into trading our 2007 Chevy Colorado for a Chevy Cruze due to gas mileage because he travels for work. We went in to see Kevin and test drive one to be sure it was the right fit and Kevin showed us 3 different Cruze's but I fell in love with the 42 MPG's on the ECO version. So we went with a 2014 Chevy Cruze Eco. He was extremely helpful in helping us learn the new vehicle and all of its "bells and whistles". Once we knew we wanted to purchase the vehicle it was time for finance to step in. That's when Nelson and Eric worked to match the deal I could get at my Credit Union and also give me what I wanted for a trade value. (I should probably tell you I work for a Credit Union and was well educated going into this car buying experience) I may have come off as pushy and wanting what I wanted but let me tell you these guys were nothing but professional and polite the whole time. Eric explained the number breakdown for us and also made sure he was putting us in the right warranty for the miles we would put on the vehicle. All in all I would say this was our BEST car buying experience yet and we would certainly go back to Charlie's Chevrolet in Winthrop again in the future for another vehicle. Originally worked with sales department and finance manager (Eric) during the purchase of a 2014 Chevy 2500HD LTZ. Staff was very professional & knowledgeable of their product. Reach an agreement we could both live with and the deal was done. Later brought the vehicle back for accessories identified in the original contract, I was provided a loaner vehicle (nice, clean fairly new).First service was free, service staff was friendly, waiting facilities were brand new, comfortable and clean. While there discussed a lease options for a vehicle my parents are considering. Will continue to do business with Charlie's Chevrolet in the future!Regards,Jeff

I am writing this review because of the general over-all great sales and service I have experienced since 2005 with the Charlie's dealerships in the Augusta- Winthrop locations. My wife and I have purchased six vehicles from Charlie's including the Honda brand and Chevrolet. My most recent experience was with the service department at Charlie's Chevrolet in Winthrop, Maine. The initial phone appointment was made with Bud Sergent, service manager, and was very courteous. I needed an oil change, tire rotation and a 27 point inspection. I also needed a state inspection done on the vehicle. Bud recommended an early Friday morning appointment because Friday is a free inspection day at Charlie's dealerships and he knows I like to get in and out promptly. I was checked in with a friendly reception from Bud and told to look around at the remodeling project in progress, and please help yourself to the nearby refreshments. I was amazed at the renovation being done. Wow!Service was completed ahead of the time prediction and my vehicle was returned spotless. I admit to being compulsive with how my cars and truck look. At check-out Bud surprised me with a bill below my expectations even though I had submitted a coupon Bud had sent me on behalf of the dealership. How does it get any better than that? I would recommend, and have on many occasions, Charlie's for sales and especiallyservice. It has proven to be a great dealership for me and I enjoy doing business with the Shuman family!
