The whole thing started just fine. The salesman was very helpful. The problem came when I went in to talk to the finance guy. The last thing I expected was a high pressure sales pitch for extra Insurance. It took me quite a while to figure out what was going on. By the end of the pitch my head was spinning. I am still not sure exactly what I bought. I'm all grown up and will uphold my end of the deal but you guys should be ashamed of yourself for using such tactics.. Mr. Sherriff and the sales Manager were both informative and polite. This has been the most pleasant car buy buying experience i've had at a dealership. Mr. Sherriff made it very clear that his role is not just a salesman, but a single point of contact for anything and everything. Richard Sherriff was outstanding. He was not at all pushy, knew which vehicle I was interested in, and explained all of the safety features including the blind spot features on the mirrors as well as the other driving safety features before and during the test drive. First off, our salesperson was great! She didn't pressure us at all and was open about needing to confirm the answers to our questions. We offered a price negotiation for the car we wanted. The saleswoman confirmed with finance that it could be done and it was agreed upon. However that was the end of our positive experience. We then waited over an hour to meet the finance person. From the first moment we sat down he refused to listen to us. He continued to push us to finance the entire price of the car instead of putting money down and made comment that the interest we would pay for financing the entire cost would be 'negligible.' (The money difference was more than 10k). He continued to give us monthly payments estimates based on no money down. After continuing to tell him we did not wish to pay for additional package options he gave us a final price. HE CHARGED US ALMOST 5K MORE THAN THE PROCE AGREED UPON.!! When we got annoyed by this and wanted clarification he broke down the cost. However in his mind our 4K trade in didn't count as money! At the end of the day he refused to accept that there was a misunderstanding and we walked out. It was THE WORST EXPERIENCE WE'VE EVER HAD WITH A CAR DEALER!!!! I feel sorry for the saleswoman who was great! Toyota is loosing a lot of business by employing such a rude, underhanded, sneaky finance person!

I needed help with my 4 runner about an year and half ago and from the time I called and and got there with my vehicle I had the most friendly people to work with. I had to purchase another vehicle and I was very hesitant on getting another, I looked at another place after looking a little there and I went back. I was pointed to a wonder sales man who was so patient with me and helped me so much. I have gone back for other reasons since, and The BEST Customer REPRESENTIATIVE I have EVER dealt with her name is BESTY GAMMON. She is one of the most amazing people I have ever meet, she has been so helpful at helping me and so so gracious and kind! Dealership is 4 hours away from my home. Negotiated with Chandler over the phone for the "out the door" difference between their vehicle and my trade in. Difference was agreed upon. I made sure that they acknowledged that KY sales tax was included in their calculations. Arrived at dealership after hours (will tip my cap here), test drove the vehicle and started signing paperwork...going smoothly. Until the invoice is shown. I notice the sales tax is actually NOT included. So, now I'm 4 hours away from home and I'm going to be out of pocket an extra $1,700 if I want to take this car home. At the end of the day, I went ahead and purchased the car due to the trip I had already committed to. I would not have agreed upon that price before leaving my home, however. I was also only given 1 key fob and was told the 2nd fob was "around here somewhere...I"ll find it and mail it to you". Got a phone call the next day that they couldn't turn up the key fob, sorry about your luck. So there's another $360 I've had to fork out (not to mention another 2 hour trip to the closest dealer capable of programming the new fob) in order to get a complete set of keys. So, again...the car is great, but the tactics the personnel used to sell it to me were incredibly shady. Would not recommend buying a car from here. I obviously won't be back.Update (6/3/16): Promptly called the gentleman below over a week ago and left a message. Phone call has not yet been returned. Clearly not very interested in making it right....

We bought a 2015 Toyota Camry last week and it was the easiest car purchase that we have ever made. Chandler Capehart was the salesman who let us browse the inventory in our own time. He was the most knowledgeable car salesperson that we have ever dealt with while looking for cars. Chandler answered our questions and was honest when he did not have an answer. First off Alicia Normand is my sales person, and if I could give her own five stars I would! It's the little things like making sure the truck was clean for me when I went the second time to buy the truck, and she wouldn't let me leave until the Bluetooth on the truck was connected to my phone. Ford, Dodge, and Nissan acted like they could care less about that stuff when I did business with them. Dodge acted like they could care less about anything. Also any question I had she had the answer, or if she didn't she would get the info for me in a timely fashion. When I go back for a new car for my wife she will be getting the sell.Dealership was great. Ed Emerson worked with me on trading in my Mustang for the Tacoma as much as he could, and had a lot of info on leasing. Which I never leased before. The reason I gave 4 star is the finance department. The first day I went to the dealer we did a set plan leasing, and the second day their was a change of plans. There was a miss calculation, and the monthly payment went up $100. Also the department sent the pay off check for the car I traded in the day the car payment was due after me stating when it was due... Wanted to say I'm very picky on vehicles, and can't find one thing I would change on my Tacoma. Option request Toyota come out with a V8 for the Tacoma!!

Never owned a Toyota so my wife and I thought we would test drive a couple of vehicles. Salesperson met us in the lot and asked questions in regards to our interest. We discussed price range and concerns about not knowing what we were looking for and just wanted to test drive different vehicles. Chandler suggested we drive two vehicles that fit our wants. He allowed us to drive one vehicles for several hours to assist in the decision making process. We were somewhat late getting back. We determine the vehicle we wanted to pursue and discussed pricing. Without any drama and feeling pressured, we arrived at a price we both agreed upon. Easiest vehicle purchase I have ever encountered. The process was very smooth and Chandler remained at the dealership over an hour after the dealership closed and made sure our vehicle was ready with the keys and parked just outside the dealership door. The professionalism Chandler demonstrated made us feel we were at all inclusive resort instead of my past opinion of dealerships. The relationship established made us feel comfortable in using other services at Capital since I was made to believe we would be welcomed as a respected customer. We are more that satisfied with the service given and walked out of the dealership feeling we made the right decision especially since we had no intentions of purchasing a vehicle on this visit.

We went to a couple of dealers here in Knoxville to test drive the cars we were interested in. The service was okay, but they kept pressuring us to use their finance department, even though we told them upfront we were pre-approved through USAA's Car Buying Service. We decided a late model Toyota Camry XSE or XLE was what we wanted. I searched the USAA True Car service online and contacted six USAA approved dealers in a 200 mile radius. I heard from all of them by email and phone in a reasonable amount of time. Sharon Ricketts contacted me by email immediately and then by phone shortly after. Shortly after we started our conversation, she conveyed her heartfelt appreciation for our family's service in the military. We talked about what I was looking for and when I had specific questions about features, got me in touch with Alfred Odister right away. Alfred answered all of my questions and was not at all pushy. He gave me his cell number and encouraged me to call or text if we had further questions or wanted to drive to Chattanooga to test drive the cars he had available. He assured me that he could handle our USAA transaction and never pressured us to consider their financing.After a couple more calls and texts, we let Alfred know they had the car we wanted, for a great price on the lot. We let him know we were headed his way. Alfred was waiting in the parking lot, waving as we drove in! I arrived with all of my paperwork in hand and found there was an error with information on the website but they handled it professionally and quickly. They more than made up for the error. We got to meet Sharon too. She was just as pleasant and kind in person as she was on the phone. I train Realtors to follow up on online business and Sharon did everything the way I teach my agents. She's a true asset! The car was just what we wanted, we test drove it and and decided we wanted it. About an hour later, we drove off the lot with a full gas tank and a clean shiny 2015 Camry XSE. Alfred asked us to keep in touch and let him help with any questions about the car's technology features. Honestly, he did such an excellent job explaining everything, we were good driving off the lot. We have talked and texted about a couple of things and he's been very helpful.I would most highly recommend both Alfred Odister and Capital Toyota. The service, care and customer service are top notch!

We drove from Oneida, TN 37841 to look at a Toyota sienna van that Capital Toyota had listed on cargurus.com. I called ahead a was connected with salesman Curry Stone. Curry was very helpful in helping me get some ideas on numbers that I'd be looking at on trading my old sienna in on the sienna that Capital Toyota had. Curry worked very hard to earn our business and after a few days of communication Curry had assured me that the 2-1/2 drive would be worth my time. After arriving and meeting Curry who was very very professional, had us in our new van and on our way home very quickly. I would highly highly recommend Curry Stone and Capital Toyota for buying your next vehicle.

We basically had a good experience. We did find out; however, that the 2013 Camry we purchased had been in an accident after the fact. We were handed the Carfax just as we were going into the finance room. We do believe we got a fair deal, but now we are concerned about how much damage there was to the vehicle and are not sure how to find out. We do like the car and are not disappointed, but the integrity of Capital Toyota in our mind is tarnished somewhat. We accept 50% of the blame.

Of all the sales personnel I've ever dealt with, Patrick is the best!! He sold me my 2008 Tacoma in January of 2008 and has always made sure I am happy and my truck well cared for. Any issues I've needed help on -- from paint spilled on the seat to minor collision damage he has been there and helped. About a year ago, I had a sort of immediate need for a used car and asked Patrick for his help. He found the perfect car for us!!A couple of years ago, my daughter needed a new vehicle. We wanted a minivan. We researched most all of the makes and models online and decided which features we wanted. We then began visiting dealerships and test driving the various models. We met a lot of salesmen and asked a lot of questions. We were disappointed to find out that many car salesmen are not very familiar with the cars that they sell. We finally decided that we liked the Toyota Sienna the best by a pretty wide margin and we wanted certain features. We found a very friendly and knowledgeable salesman at Capital Toyota. His name is Patrick Shadrick. He took the time to explain all of the Sienna's features and to teach us how to set them up and how to use them. We bought the Sienna and we love it. My Experience:I am a Sales Manager for Southern Honda Powersports, and as such, I expect a certain level of professionalism from people in the industry. I left three other dealerships, very dissatisfied, but Capital Toyota is by far the best auto dealership I have ever purchased from. I was just shopping, but Ed (The Sales Manager), Alicia (My Sales Associate), and Reno (F&I) are why I purchased. A Truck is a truck for me as long as it will get the job done, but the people made everything worth my while. I wish I could convince every one of them to come to my side of the business, but then I wouldn't be able to send my customers shopping for a vehicle anywhere. I can promise that Capital Toyota has my business forever. Alicia is also one unbelievable sales professional. She doesn't push, and makes it a fun experience. Thank you for being great! My buying experience started off great. The salesman was extremely knowledgeable about the Tahoe I was looking at and he helped me understand what to look for in buying a used car with high mileage. However, once the transaction shifted from LOOKING to PURCHASING the Tahoe, things started to change. You could tell that he had put on his "salesman" hat and was trying to get the deal done by all means. I gave him amounts that I could pay and what I thought the Tahoe was worth and he went back and forth to the "managers office" and his desk with every value I came up with as an offer, which is typical in a traditional dealership. I gave him a final price that I was willing to pay and we settled on that amount and then it turned to financing the vehicle. It took over an hour and a half waiting to hear the status of the financing, with several updates by the salesman saying "just a few more minutes". Once I finally did hear from the finance department, it was too late to do anything that night about financing the vehicle, I had to wait until the next day. I was told by the financial rep that I would be getting a call from her early in the morning on the next day to discuss the options available to me. She never called, she had failed to mention that she would not be in the office the next day to give me that call. I was forced to text my salesman, who was off duty, all day trying to find out the status of this purchase. I literally had to text this guy 10 times to try and get a straight answer on what was going to happen. When I could not get any answer other than, "still waiting", I finally called the dealership and talked with a finance manager who told me that "I was good." I asked what that meant and he said that everything worked out, which meant that the deal had been approved. Thanks for notifying me. The last issue with this experience was actually signing the papers for the financing. The salesman and I had agreed on a price and I was never told by the salesman that the agreed upon price would not be possible. However, when I was signing the paperwork, I noticed some values that did not look right. After asking the finance manager to point out the total purchase price of the vehicle, I found that the agreed upon amount was not honored and the total was off by $1100. I had to call the salesman back to the financing office for him to explain the amount to the finance manger. The finance manager did not agree with what I was telling him so he had to make a call to someone to get permission to sell it at that price. It just added another level of shadiness to this already questionable purchase. It's a shame that experiences like this still happen. There are so many other ways of purchasing cars these days that are easier and far less questionable. I just happened to really like the car that I was trying to purchase so I put up with all of the frustration. Hopefully, this is not a consistent theme with this dealership.

My car was dead I needed to find a car quickly, but wanted to make an informed decision. I spent time on the internet researching cars, including http://capitaltoyota.net/ and narrowed my choices down to three. The first time I met Alicia Normand, she knew I was just doing some initial searching. She showed me the differences between the Highlanders: basic, XLE & limited. I appreciated how knowledgeable she was about the cars! She understood I didn't want to purchase more than I would truly use. The next week, I came back again (with my daughter) and she let us explore the cars for about 40 minutes. She called me a couple of times to ask if I had anymore questions and of course I did. We decided on the Highlander and she & Ed searched all over for a black AWD XLE for me! They got it here in time to leave for our vacation and it was so incredibly clean. My husband and I came in and quickly and easily went through the Toyota financing process. The next morning, we packed the car up - there was room for both golf bags to fit across the back! Then we got to enjoy the car in a 12 hour car ride to the beach. It was so quiet, comfortable and safe. My child had tons of leg room in the back! Thank you to Alicia and everyone else we worked with at Capitol Toyota for making the car buying experience an easy one!

Family members have had several positive experiences dealing with Capital Toyota, and Alfred Odister was the sales expert recommended to us. He was absolutely terrific from first meeting. Initially wanted to test drive the four door Tundra which was admittedly above my intended price range. Alfred was extremely professional and knowledgeable in addition to being a lot of fun to deal with. After test driving the Tundra, we were offered a great price although still above what we were going to pay for a vehicle. During the drive, Alfred let me know that they had just acquired a used Nissan Titan the evening before that would fit in my price range and likely meet my needs in a truck. Without making me feel pressured at all, he encouraged me to take a look at it and I"m thrilled that he did. I bought a Tacoma from Capital Toyota through the salesman, Allen Cay. Allen was knowledgeable about the vehicle and was easy to work with---no high pressure. I work with Allen over a week's time and he stayed in touch as I checked options to try to find a model with particular features. Eventually, Allen located a vehicle at another dealer. He arranged the transfer and had the car ready for pickup at my convenience. He had noticed a few fine scratches in the side rear window which were virtually unnoticable. Rather than try to sneak the damage by me, he pointed at the problem and said a replacement window had been ordered. The lack of pressure and the integrity made for a good buying experience.

Capitol contacted me after an online search. I told Tyson and Sharon what I wanted and they suggested I visit the dealership. I did so and they found me the exact car I wanted ! I don't anticipate any problems but if I do, Reta Maynor has given me her card and told me to contact her. We've been in the car market for virtually two years. As this vehicle would be an "additional" vehicle, we carefully took our time in the car buying process. During this two year process, we visited and test drove cars at no less than 7 dealerships in the Chattanooga area. About three months ago, we first met Jason when we test drove the Prius. While we definitely weren't fans of the Prius, we remembered Jason's charisma. When we decided to test drive the Corolla, we knew we wanted to work with Jason. Jason actually remembered us from three months ago and remembered our previous experience with the Prius. Jason let us drive the Corolla to our house to ensure it fit in our garage and was very informative. Jason does a good job of reading his customers and knows when to interject facts or to just let you enjoy the test driving experience and ask questions when necessary. We never felt pressured working with Jason. After test driving a vehicle at another dealership, we returned to Capital Toyota and purchased the Corolla. As we own another, 9 yr old, Toyota (not purchased at Capital), we were familiar with the level of care and service at this dealership, and that was another "pro" for purchasing a car here. A good dealer relationship is important to us. We know that they want us happy for the life of our car. We know that we're not just a number at Capital Toyota.

I can't say enough about how Jason made me feel comfortable with a difficult financial decision I had to make due to recent changes in our household income. I didn't want to let go of my beloved 'customized' (more added bells & whistles) slightly older Camry but knew I needed to cut some monthly expenses. I walked away slightly sad to let my car go but knew in my heart it was the right decision & knew I was still driving away in a car that I can relay on and will come to love in time. He definitely was an expert, and left without any questions. He was the perfect combination of enthusiastic salesman without being too pushy. If I have to buy a car in the future or recommend a friend, I would tell them to of straight to Capital Toyota and ask for Alfred.

Eddie Brown listened to our needs for a car and showed us the options that we wanted. He accepted what we wanted without arguing that we needed more.. We felt very comfortable with him and his assistant Dallas Brown. My wife had bought her first Camry at Capital Toyota from Gary Webb back in 1985. Patrick showed us a Scion xB just in case it might fit our needs and Alfred took us on a test drive in a Camry XLE while Eddie was finishing up with another customer on our preliminary scouting. The second time, Eddie gave us his full attention. The guys worked together as a team. Good group.

I can't say enough about the excellent customer service we received at Capital Toyota. To make a long story short, I totaled my vehicle as well as my daughter's vehicle when I hit her while following her home. The next day I called around to several dealers and wasn't able to get any help. I called Capital Toyota and spoke with Ms. Yoder. She even offered to send Mr. Odister to come and pick us up since she knew we didn't have a vehicle. When we met Mr. Odister, we immediately felt like he was sincere in wanting to help us. He was very patient with us and took time to go over all our options. I never felt pressured and was very pleased with how we were treated. I don't usually fill out comment cards or leave reviews but with the excellent customer service we were given I felt it was important to let someone know. I love my new car!!!

Purchased a new Corolla so our daughter could drive the old Corolla. I put over 600 miles on a vehcle each week driving to work and back. I wanted something that gave me good gas mileage. Hopefuly the new Corolla will be as good as the old one. Captial Toyota is a good/friendly place to do business.

I have never seen such team work in a sales floor in my life, and I was an asst. sales manager at a retail furniture store for 7 years. I bought a 2014 Toyota Tacoma in march, and unfortunately in April I totaled it. Alford my salesman, and Detha the lady that took care of the financing started to work, helping me with getting all the information that I needed to my insurance company. Our first visit to Capitol Toyota was several years ago. It was early on a Saturday morning, just by chance Patrick came out to meet us, and ended up being our salesman. We had previously been to another dealership in another city, where high pressure was the way every person in the dealership treated us. Patrick was the complete opposite. We were looking at a Rav4, after explaining all the features of the vehicle and a test drive Patrick then left us to look and discuss the situation in private. He took his time explaining the features and options, as well as giving us our privacy. He made sure we were comfortable with the deal before proceeding in the process. Patrick treated us like we had been friends for years. He was sincere in his work, which in turn, we gained a true friend in the auto business. The next step in the process was paperwork. Where we met our next new friend, Detha Yoder. Her knowledge of her work and vivacious personality continued the wonderful purchase of our first Rav4. My husband and I come to Capitol Toyota because Patrick Shadrick is there. In our opinion Patrick is the best. We do not even consider going to any other dealership. Patrick and Detha are great assets to Capitol Toyota. Their care of us as customers is continual. Anytime we have questions or concerns they are a phone call away. Ready and willing to help in any way possible. We are on our second Rav4 and first Camry. A Toyota is the same good quality vehicle in all dealerships, what sets Capitol Toyota apart from all others is Patrick Shadrick and Detha Yoder. I am now on my fourth Sienna. Our first lease vehicle was through a non Toyota salesman, van was great, but the broker was a non entity. My second Sienna on the other hand was made even better by a great salesman, Patrick Shadrick of Capital Toyota. Very friendly, very keen to my taste and made the experience wonderful. The third Sienna was the same. A simple call to Patrick with my list of options and the car was ready and waiting when my lease was final. My fourth, my dream car, was a wonderful experience also. Patrick is never pushy, keeps his little legal pad with his long list of potential sales with the wants and wishes of his clients. I have sent friends to him with the confidence that they will be treated as well as I have been. I am sorry I have to wait another 3 years before I can visit with him again!

I visited this Dealership 3 times before making my purchase. Craig Presnell assisted me every time and was very patient with me while I struggled to make my decision. He took me on test drives of different vehicles. He has a lot of patience, is very knowledgeable f the different vehicles and is able to give accurate and informative comparisons to help decide which model is best for a customers needs or situation. I would highly recommend Capital Toyota and Patrick Shadrick - he was very quick to answer my questions during the search and decision process, he gave me thorough, honest and thoughtful answers and helped me make the best buying decision. He kept in touch and kept me informed about the delivery of my car and when I picked it up he did a thorough review of the operation. He even sync'd my iphone! I think he would have driven me home to program the garage door opener if he could have! I drive my cars for a long time and hope he is still around when I purchase my next one, which will be a while because I love my new Sienna.

On 9-16-13, my husband and I took my new 2013 Toyota Camry in for replacement of the right rear tire that had completely shredded a few days earlier. Mr. Turner inspected the tire and said he had never seen a tire destroyed to the extent the new tire was (it had less than 400 miles at the time). He said it should not have happened and the dealership would replace it at no charge to us. After a new tire was installed, we thanked Mr. Turner for taking care of the matter at no charge to us. He said he was glad to do so and was glad that I was not injured when the tire disintegrated on Interstate 75 near my home. On 9-18-13, Mr. Turner called and left a message for me to call him which I did on 9-19-13. In the conversation, Mr. Turner said they had determined that I had hit something on the interstate and that I should send Capital Toyota a check for $187.00 for the tire. I reminded him of our conversation on 9-16-13 both before and after the new tire was installed-specifically that the tire would be replaced at no charge to us. On 9-25-13, Mr. Turner called and talked to my husband and again requested that we send a check for $187.00. My husband told him that I was fortunate not to have been injured and that the agreement was that the tire would be replaced at no cost to us. Mr. Turner then told my husband that the Service Manager wished to speak to him. After going through the whole matter again, my husband told him that Toyota should keep its part of the agreement concerning no charge for the tire. The Service Manager ended the conversation with a sarcastic, "Have A Nice Day! and hung up. To perform service work at no charge to the customer one day and then call two days later and expect a check is not exactly conducive to building a loyal customer base. Customer Service does not appear to be of any importance to the dealership. We definitely do not recommend Capital Toyota.

I spoke with Brandon on Tuesday, told him precisely what I wanted, and was promised that it would be ready for me to drive off of the lot on Saturday. I came in with my boyfriend. Problem 1: nothing remotely resembling the model of car that I wanted was on any of his lots. Problem 2 (and the absolute worst): he was very degrading and did not speak to me until I spoke to him, only to receive short, pointed answers. When he greeted us, he went directly to my boyfriend, shook his hand, and started to sit down. I had to offer my hand, though I was who he was supposed to do business with. I agreed to a test-drive, where I drove, Brandon sat in the passenger's seat, and my boyfriend sat behind me. Rather than talking with me the specs and features of the car, he slid his chair back and talked with my boyfriend in the back, ignoring me. When we got back to the lot, I told him that I was going to look somewhere else; he said that he would check with his manager about what he could get, and when. He asked me the same questions at least four times about the model and color of the car that I had repeatedly told him that I wanted. I felt very demeaned and extremely offended that he did not pay attention to me. The general attitude that I got was that I must have been an idiot and did not a clue as to what I was talking about. I will NEVER recommend this dealership to a soul. My boyfriend and I both left absolutely appalled.

He wanted to keek his truck at asking value which was $4000 above KBB and he wanted me to give him my truck at $6000 BELOW BKK value. If he did not want my truck he should have said so instead of having his sales man insult me. This was an absolut insult to me or anyone who would be looking for a fair price.I will never do business with Capital Toyota!!!!!!
