Dan and Nathan (sales) are great representatives for your company. We stopped today, Saturday, for help in trying to find a proper spot for a loose displaced cover in our engine compartment. They researched the part and were able to find its proper location and reinserted the cover with replacement bolt. We bought a new Mazda here a few years ago during a promotion that said they will provide tires and brake pads for the life of the vehicle. The only caveat being we have regular service performed there. Which we did. Now under new ownership Whaling City will not honor their agreement. I don’t trust them at all. Seems they’ll promise the world then renege.

I drive an electric car and most dealerships have free public charging, as a way to get people into the building and a way to serve the community. I see that this dealership has a charger right outside but I was told that it is not for the public to use and is building property, therefore looking at it it just sits there empty collecting dust. I understand and respect the policy, but, as more people switch to electric, it would be nice to be able to have a spot just to plug in for a couple hours, and perhaps end up stumbling upon a great car when I'm ready and maybe putting a down payment on one in the future? Just a suggestion. Thank you.

Bottom Line Up Front. GOT SCREWED AFTER THE SALE ON A USED TRUCK. LONG TIME CUSTOMER AND NO DEALER LOYALTY TO THE CUSTOMERS UNDER NEW OWNER. STEER CLEAR!!! Long time customer of Whaling City Ford, bought 2 cars from them and had most of my service and Maintenance done through their service department. I purchased a 2004 Ford Ranger from them, Traded in my 2015 Ford Fiesta. The truck ended up in the service department 3 weeks later for over $3000 worth of repairs. AT BEST! They missed it on the inspection they told me they did OR they knew about the issues and sold it to me anyway. I e-mailed the Owner Filippo and he gave me to the service manger. After several e-mails and AND 2 weeks of waiting, i got offered $300 in credit towards future services. I asked to be met in the middle. Was not asking for a refund or to return the truck. I got a slap in the face. Will not be going back, will encourage other to do the same. If you do you are rolling the dice on getting screwed.

Buying a certified 2013 Ford Explorer Limited from Daniel Burden; picking it up tomorrow. I've been around long enough to not fall for or play the usual car salesman games. I didn't feel at all like I was being swindled out of my money. I talked them down on price to where I wanted to be. They offered a couple of extras, which I declined and didn't feel pressured into taking. Dan is easy going, the dealership is clean and neat. I would also like to commend David Schwartz, the business manager. David is an ex-Marine (thank you again for your service), and went over all of the paperwork with an exactness and crispness that relates to his background. Picking the car up tomorrow and I expect that everything will go according to plan.

My '01 Miata SE needed a timing belt and a throw out bearing. I called three dealerships for a quote. Josh, in the service dept. at Whaling City Mazda, returned my call with a figure and details of the work involved in three hours. Dealer #2 called three days later with a parts figure, never called me with a labor cost. Dealer #3 never called me back, even after I called them a second time.Hmmm, strong customer service, no customer service. Bought a Ford F150 2015 Platinum from Whaling City/Salesman Jay Drouin. Jay was the most professional, top-quality salesperson I have ever bought a car from. It was the smoothest, no surprises, hassle free process imaginable. He also gave good advice on options and financing. I feel I got a fair deal on the truck and was treated fairly and respectfully thru out. When I hit the Finance Manager phase, as noted, there were no unpleasant surprises or trying to sneak in higher interest rates or any of that nonsense which I have experienced in the past. I just purchased a New 2015 Mazda CX5 GT. After another dealer I was working with did not go the extra mile, I left without the vehicle I was prepared to buy. I went over to the Folks at Whaling City Motors and they had me in the Mazda CX5 I wanted in an hour. I am very happy it worked out that way. From my initial internet inquiry to when I walked in the door I was always greeted in a very friendly and professional manner by David Schwartz, Bear Borsher, and Daniel Burden at Whaling City Motors. Right away I knew I wanted to make my purchase at Whaling City Motors if the numbers worked out. Danie Burden and Aaron Borsher worked with me during the deal. I had a trade, some cash, clean credit score, and had a monthly payment I wanted to be at. They were able to get me close enough to my goal and the deal was done. Aaron took the time to show me each of the numbers so I was very comfortable with how final deal numbers were figured out. The paperwork, insurance, and registration processes was seamless. I closed the purchase with Greg LeBeau who also explained the financing and what I should expect. I drove home that night in my New Mazda CX-5. David and Daniel followed up the next day to see how I was enjoying it and to Thank me again.I'll definitely be back for service when needed. I did a nation wide search on the internet for a Jaguar XJL with a lot of results. There was no pressure, just excellent follow-up from each visit to be sure that all questions and concerns were answered. The sales rep knew the product thoroughly and could answer questions readily. The only thing that I don't like about the dealership are these surveys. The work was performed correctly the first time, price was made clear to me before the work was performed. This was an overnight repair. I left a key in my vehicle that I needed at 7:00am in another city. I met Chuck, whom I believe is the owner of the dealership. He let me into the facility at 6:30 in the morning to retrieve my key and I made it to my apointment at 7:00am. All good !

At over sixty years old i have bought many cars in my life and this was simply the easiest, best, least stressful, most pleasant experience i've ever had. Was really worried about going to look for a car because my credit score had gone down due to problems with my business in the recession, but the salesman at Whaling City made it smooth and easy and did everything he could to get me in the best car he could find (which i LOVE) for the monthly payments i was willing to make. I went there to begin with as a result of a recommendation from a relative who also had a great experience there.

I am from New York City and was unable to get any help from my local Mazda dealer in acquiring the Mazda3 that I wanted. MazdaUSA gave me a list of other dealers. I called Whaling City Ford Lincoln Mazda and spoke with Art Hoyt, who in a matter of minutes assured me that he had exactly what I wanted and at a great price. A few day later I drove to New London, CT and picked up my new Mazda3 Sport. The entire experience was a joy. The entire staff at the dealership were friendly and helpful and the facilities were well designed and immaculate. Even though they are hours away they will be my car dealership in the future.

A lot of people misuse the word family these days. But from the moment you enter the Whaling City dealership to the time you leave, you feel like family because you're treated like family. Starts with a smiling face who remembers your name, in my case Aaron, the sales pro I bought my car from, who always stops what he's doing to say hi when I come in; to Tim my service rep who remembers me and greets me with a hand shake and a smile. From the moment I explain my issue to the short time it takes them to figure out what the problem is, I am contually apprised of what going on and how much longer it will take. I'm relaxed and happy that my issue is in good hands and being taken care of. This genuine regard for me will keep me coming back for service and for my next purchase, another Lincoln MKX when Ford does it's next update of that model. I arrived a little early and they took care of me right away. Said it would take from 45 minutes to an hour and I could wait in the waiting room which looked to me that it had just been done over and looked very nice. A gentleman offered me coffee which I declined. I just relaxed and read the book I came with. The car was ready in about 45 minutes I think and they said everything was good with it.I had the "Works" done and the windshield wipers replaced. That was yesterday and everything seems good to go. A lady saw me with the car today and asked me how I liked it and I told her we liked it very much and recommended she try Whaling City Ford.

Our salesman David went above and beyond our expectations to make our car buying experience quick and enjoyable. He was extremely knowledgeable about all of the vehicles we were interested in. Cost estimate for the repair was accurate and was essentially the actual cost that I paid. Repair was completed sooner than I was told and expected. I have always enjoyed the service on my 2nd car I purchased from Whaling City. I dropped off my car for a routine "recall" service and requested that they check the fluids. I received a call stating they found a leak in my oil pan and timing change cover along with some sludge in the plastic "shroud." Additionally, I was told there was less than a quart of oil and was told I was "down three to four quarts and should be careful about driving it anywhere".I decided to take the car elsewhere for a second opinion. First I took the car directly to Auto Zone and purchased oil. When I checked the dip stick, the level was in fact full. Upon examination under a lift at another garage, it was apparent that some old stain from a previous leak was still in the "shroud". Once wiped away everything was fine. I also learned that there was no leak in the oil pan or timing chain cover as stated. I was allowed to see this for myself. There was possibly some weeping coming from above and the crankcase was full of oil.It appears that Whaling City attempted to charge me approximately $970.00 for a repair that did NOT exist. Needless to say our relationship has ended and I now have a new place that will provide me with honest work when needed. Respectfully submitted,Antonio Suarez

He listened to what we wanted, then went out and found the exact car. Doing business at this dealership has been one of the worst decisions and experiences of my lifetime. We purchased a 2008 Lincoln MKZ with 30,000 miles. We were told it was a proforma car and belonged to a ford manager. First of all, we over paid for our extended warranty. We were given a form and were told this is your extended contract. There was so much confusion going on, we really did not give it a close look. When we needed it, we discovered we had received a 30 day run of the mill certified car warranty. Shame on us for not looking at it closely. I am embarrassed to say how much we were taken for. The next thing is that we had purchased a car several months before this and had a perfect credit rating. The credit report that they ran was not that favorable and were told that our interest rate was going to be 4.9. No one was charging 4.9 for credit. We were shocked. We have since had our credit rating done several times, and it is excellent. A week or so after we provided Whaling City Ford all of our information, my husband's identity was stolen. It was quite a battle getting this cleared up. We are convinced it was directly related to doing business with Whaling City. (Whaling City assured us this was not the case and that our information was protected.) I was hesitant about buying this car, but the very smooth salesman convinced me that this car was excellent and would go hundred of thousands of miles. It had a perfect track record. Well, it just died with only $70,000 miles. It was an engine melt down. Lincoln Customer Service told us that if we did the repair, they would determine what they would do for us, if anything. At this point, we have little trust or faith in either Lincoln or Ford and we now own a Nissan. The reward that we got for supporting American business is that we were raked over the coals. So much for buying American. Never again. I feel that we have just made a huge donation to Ford. However, in my heart, I think I need that money more than they do. It has been a nightmare. Consumer beware.

Salesman Aaron Borsher was very knowledgeable with the Ford product. He was nice and easy to speak to. He introduced us to Nathan in the office ( i think the GM?). We had great conversation with him as well and he was friendly to deal with. My husband just sold his cobra and wanted to buy me a AWD Taurus which i really did not have any interest in. I was leaning toward Acura TL. Listening to Aaron speak about Ford and the Taurus SHO vehicle changed my mind. I am very happy with the purchase and glad my husband steered me toward the SHO. I've been having my 13 year old Mazda serviced by this dealership for many years. The fact that my car has served me this long has to do with the excellent partnership I've had with Whaling City. All repairs to include tire replacement have been done here with great attention. The staff is great to work with and have always provided the best price in my opinion. Before repair service is done there's a thorough consultation of what is needed at a very reasonable price. They're the "go to" place for any car-related needs. Tim Laducer from the service department is great to work with. Warranty service is never a hassle. As a long-term owner they respect my input on any repairs that need to be done, and that's important.

I brought my Lincoln MKZ in for brakes and they did a good job repairing them. They also washed the vehicle after the work was performed which was a nice surpise! I just felt that the labor price was a little high ($400.00 for all 4 wheels) but they did a good job. They also gave me a $100.00 rebate to send in which was very nice too! So that helps out on the labor cost. They also installed lifetime brake pads which is a plus! Also, last year I had an accident with the same vehicle and had Whaling City Ford Body Shop repair the vehicle. Mike Canova was the best! They made that car look just like it came off the factory line when I got the car back! There was a lot of damage to the car. The whole driver's side from the front fender all the way to the rear bumper ($9,000.00 damage) and it was fixed like brand new and everything worked perfectly without me having to bring it back for them to fix something they missed! I would defenatly bring my vehicle back there for any repairs in the future. I feel now with the way vehicles are buiit these days, a customer is wasting their money going to a non-dealer service center. I recommend going to the dealer to get your car fixed properly! If you bought a Ford, Lincoln of Mazda product, go to Whaling City Ford for your repairs and it will be done right!

I am a sailor in training in the U.S. Navy in Groton Ct., I mistakenly bought an F-150 pickup truck from salesman, Jeff Gay, I clearly could not afford at my pay rate. The Whaling City dealership was able to bypass the safety mechanism (the Navy Federal Credit Union has in place to protect sailors) using another bank to get my loan approved. Within 3 business days, I contacted the dealership about returning the F-150 pickup, and Chuck Primus, an owner, refused. My father also spoke to Chuck Primus and again Mr. Primus refused to help me. Finally, after my mother contacted the Ford Motor Company, Mr. Primus took the F-150 pickup truck back and charged me $5,000 plus a $2,000 loss on my trade-in. I had to get a $5,000 personal loan from the Navy Federal Credit union to pay this dealership to return the F-150 pickup. Seven thousand dollars total is a ridiculous amount to charge me when I only drove the F-150 pickup truck 100 miles (it had 110 miles on it when I bought it), and had possession only a few days, for a sales return. I do not know how this dealership stays in business treating customers like this. I guess Mr. Primus figures I will be going off to serve our country somewhere else and may as well hose me when there is no likelihood of any repeat business with me or my family (they live in Michigan).

Seven thousand dollars total is a ridiculous amount to charge me when I only drove the F-150 pickup truck 100 miles (it had 110 miles on it when I bought it), and had possession only a few days, for a sales return. I do not know how this dealership stays in business treating customers like this. I guess Mr. Primus figures I will be going off to serve our country somewhere else and may as well hose me when there is no likelihood of any repeat business with me or my family (they live in Michigan).

Went in for an oil change and I knew I was getting close to needing some brake work but did not know how close. The service manager called me and set up a time for me to come in and show me exactly what was wrong, told me they would be able to fix it the next day and offered a loaner car for the night. Also had my other new car with an electrical issue which was quickly diagnosed and I was on my way within 20 minutes.

Stopped in just to look at prices with no intent to purchase. After talking to salesman Max who informed us of the financing we decided to talk more about making a purchase. We looked at the Mazda 3 which we liked before getting there. We took one for a drive and decided we liked it and wanted to buy it that day. Our trade in was appraised and we where told the amount which paid off that car and made a new purchase even easier. The hole process took about 2 hours which was fine with us. After a long ride yesterday we are very pleased with the way the car rides and drives.

I just had my MKZ Hybrid serviced at Whaling City as I have for 3 years. They gave me an estimate of the time, including carwash, and they were right on. I was out in about an hour which I appreciate, and also like the checks done without asking, on the battery, tires, etc. I just had a hard to find defective tire, and they jumped through hoops to find a replacement, and actually called me back. When I get to talk to the service person, I like the feeling they give me that my business is really important to them. Some companies state it but don't mean it. Whaling City doesn't say it, but means it. I pay attention to detail, and the service work has always been top quality.

Jay Drouin was extremely informative and friendly; his knowledge of the Mazda 6 was helpful in making my decision to purchase. Knowing that your dealership must make a profit on trade ins, I was not quite satisfied with your offer on my 2007 Mazda 6 in excellent condition and low mileage. Also, I was not informed about the $199.00 for the "etching" on the window for theft protection, so therefore when signing the paper work, it had to be redone to eliminate that cost.

After being referred to Whaling City by a co-worker, I decided to drive out to the dealership to view their options. I was met by a man who treated me very poorly. I was told there was nothing there for me, I couldn't talk with the manager about it because he was unavailable, and was pretty much ushered out the door. I purchased my new vehicle elsewhere. I felt so miserable after leaving this dealer that I almost reconsidered purchasing at all. Don't go here.

Brought my 2011 Lincoln MKZ in for regular service. The process was timely, and I was out within an hour. The only "complaint", and this pertains to my hometown dealer also is the so-called free carwash. Both dealerships just rinse off the car with no effort to washing it. Wiper blade areas on windshield were not even touched. If you're going to offer a free service, at least make it worthwhile.

I have three Ford dealerships that are closer to me but I never consider them due to the always positive experiences with the people at Whaling City. It is well worth the drive for anyone to give them a try. I have always gotten a good deal there but price is not the primary reason for my returning. It is the people who make this dealership worth the trip. You do not feel like you have a "bulls eye" on your back when you enter. You are treated with respect and given time to ask questions and feel comfortable about your decision.

I went here today to look at a car I found online. When I arrived the sales manager Vinny was very nice but the sales person he set me up with was another story. I explained that I was upside down in my current loan and needed some help building equity. He showed me the car and when we went to do paperwork he basically told me what I wanted was impossible without a ridiculous down payment and was so condescending I felt worthless. I feel like there really was no effort put forth to try to make anything happen. I was rushed out, feeling really let down. If you have anything less than an 800 credit score and are upside down on your current car loan, save yourself the degradation and humiliation and find a dealer who will treat you like a person, not last weeks garbage.

I arranged a deal over email with Vinny. He was quick to respond and match the prices of another dealership. I called him and asked multiple times in there would be any additional delivery/extra fees. He assured me there wouldn't be any. When I got to the dealership, He brings out a sheet with almost $1000 in extra fees, Vinny was extremely rude and wasted my time. I recommend you go to another dealership.

The only negative comment I have is that today there seems to be a vibration in the steering wheel. I will have to go back in to have that looked at.

We bought our Mazda this past December and unfortunately, it was hit last week. Thankfully, Whaling City offers a dent repair service. The "Dent Wizard" comes there and repairs cars for a cost less than going through insurance. The best part is, you have it back the same day. Whaling City's service dept, sales, and all are above and beyond any other car dealer we have been to. We also had a DVD player/remote car starter installed from them a week after we bought it. Again, the installer came the Whaling City and did the work the same day. Great service. Very accomodating and excellant customer care. Thanks.

I went to Whaling City Ford after a really bad experience at another local dealership. WC was recommended to me by several people, so I decided to try them out. Before I went there, I called and spoke with Art who answered all of my questions without any BS.So I went down there and asked for Art. There was a gentleman who greeted me right away, and when I said I was there to speak to Art, he came walking around the corner immediately and introduced himself in person. I told him what I wanted to look at, and instead of bringing me to 10 cars I had no interest in, he brought me right to the vehicle I inquired about. It was while I was test-driving this vehicle that he recommended another one which was the same price, less mileage, newer, and fresh on the lot (literally, we went into the workshop to see it as it was being detailed). He arranged a test drive for me, and based on his recommendation and honesty, I agreed to buy. He made the financing process very simple, and ushered me through it, as that aspect of the process can be rather stressful. In just over an hour, we secured financing, signed all the documents, and set a date for pick up. The finance officer who helped me close on the vehicle didn't try to BS me at all. He actually ASKED ME if I WANTED certain extras, and when I said I didn't really want them, he didn't feed me a line of nonsense.I cannot recommend Whaling City enough. These guys are true professionals, and they have an amazing sense of hospitality. You tell them what you want, and they make it happen. They take 90% of the stress out of buying. Art is a real stand-up guy. He'll take good care of you, and he's completely honest. Basically, by the end of an hour, he:a) arranged the pickup of my broken down vehicle and threw me a small trade in bonusb) secured financing and arranged my insurance coveragec) sold me the vehicle I wanted, AND kept me at the price point I was aiming forBonus Points: He was in the room as I was filling out the paperwork. We have been in the market for a Subaru Baja for over a year and to find one at a dealer is very difficult, but that was the only way we'd make the purchase. We drove almost an hour for the best, no pressure service and would recommend Jay Drouin to anyone whom is going to purchase from their inventory. Overall it was great, the price i got was much lower than the other dealers i visited and the sales team is awesome, didn't push me to buy now like the others did, spent 3 hours with me to explain everything and called me twice after buying the car to make sure everything is ok. I bought a 2008 used mazda 3 & I love it!!I think whaling city motors is way better than the other dealers in the area.

This is a very nice ford and mazda dealership. we bought a 2009 used ford focus. we made a research online and they had the best reviews on all the websites so we decided to visit the place.Arthur was great, he helped us with everything. I wish i knew about the place before i bought my previous car, i would save myself a lot of headache.I definitely would recommend whaling city ford and mazda to all my friends.

I went to Whaling City for the first time after experiencing what other dealers call a "low pressure " Sales experience. I met with a sales consultant who answered every question I had even my test question which I use to make sure the sales guy isn't just making things up. After a long test drive ( I really got to check out this car) I was given a sheet with all of the numbers including an out the door price!! I was surprised . We had to haggle a bit that's the way it works . Negotiations were easy and laid back Brian came over and we were able to come to an agreement. an hour and a half later I left with my new Mazda3. I was never made to feel like I had to make a decision right there. In fact they even offered to let me take the car for a longer test drive with out a salesperson. Love the car and the sales experience was great! Already thinking about a new ar for my girlfriend. Whaling City is the first stop !

DO NOT GO TO THEIR SERVICE DEPARTMENT!!! CROOKS!!! I was in the area visiting from Colorado when the steering rack on my Windstar blew a seal. Normally I would fix it myself, but being 2000 miles from home i had little choice but to take it to a dealer. I took the van in and told them - "it needs a rebuilt steering rack." I get a call later in the day from the service adviser telling me that the a-frame was so rotted that they would have to replace it too - adding $1300 to an already $1000 repair. The adviser told me the van was unsafe to drive. I work on this van all the time and knew that there was minimal rust. So I go back to the dealership and look under the van in the parking lot. I don't see any corrosion. Next I asked them to put it on a lift and show me the rust and they refuse! So I tell them I am taking the van elsewhere. Then they try and charge me a $100 diagnostic charge. At that point I told them to get the Ford District Manager on the phone, so they let me go without paying the $100. I took it to the Ford dealer in Mystic who fixed it in one day, said the A-frame was fine and charged $100 less than Whaling City wanted for the Steering Rack. I have put 4000 miles on the van since, it runs fine. I put it up in the air when I got home and there is absolutely no corrosion on the A-Frame. Whaling City are a bunch of crooks who figured I was desperate being far from home and would just pay whatever. This sort of thievery starts at the top. I used to work for auto dealers in the service department and can tell you crooked dealerships have crooked owners and managers. The mechanics and service advisers have little to gain by ripping people off, but they have to go along to keep their jobs.

After visiting 3 dealerships where the salesmen jumped on me like animals, I decided to buy at whaling city.I bought a used 2007 Mazda 3. Nathan, the sales person was really nice, even though I bugged him for 3 days.
