We first met Ryan in 2012 when we bought our first car from Skalnek Ford. This will be our 35 anniversary year, and I had always wanted to surprise my wife with a new car for her birthday. I told Ryan what I was planning and sent my wife over to drive a new Escape just to see what she thought (I sent her to other brand dealerships also). Ryan was great at never hinting what was in the works. He made the purchase easy. He personally (and secretly) delivered the new Escape across the street at our neighbors. That allowed me to have her open the package with the key and walk across the street to see it. A great memory! I would recommend Ryan to anyone looking to buy a car. Thanks Ryan!

CONGRATULATIONS!If your reading this I promise your vehicle search is going in the right direction.I had been looking for a vehicle online for weeks do to the fact I had no running transportation. I was very sure I didn't want to buy from a private owner or a random car lot, because I had been sold LEMONS that way in the past.I am a mother with 5 kids and I'm not in the LEMONADE business, so those vehicles never helped me they just gave me a complete headache. My wife and I have dealt with the same GM dealer for the past three vehicles, when going to pick up our new one at the last minute they raise the price over $100 p.m. I stopped into scalneck ford and met Ryan, told him exactly what I wanted and at that moment it wasn't available. Problem being my lease was due to go back within a day or two. Ryan offered not only to take my vehicle back to a GM dealer and turn it in, made arrangements for a vehicle for me to drive while he was getting the vehicle we wish to lease, and then found the vehicle and delivered it to my home

Let me start by saying that this is by far the best place to go when looking to buy a car. I went in to only look at a Jeep, thats when I met Doug. He was incredible with us, he gave us very honest opinions and didnt seem greedy to get me to buy which made me want to buy from him. He was very understanding and very professional and super humble. This place is awful. I called, talked to Mike and was told I could turn my lease in a month and a half early and my last 2 payments would be waived. Upon taking my car to turn it in, come to find out my latest two payments would be waived ONLY if I bought or leased a new car. The manager Rick was useless and they refuse to own the mistake made by their employee. Now I have payments to make on two cars for the next month and a half thanks to the useless and flat out wrong info given to me by their employee. Do yourself a favor and use literally ANY other Ford sealership, this place is shady.

They were very helpful. I was contacted back the same day I sent an inquiry about a vehicle. They sent me pictures after I had requested them, even before they had any up on this site. They addressed my concerns with the vehicle and was able to guide my decision on whether to drive the two hours and test drive it. They had made a video for me in addition to the photos. The main problem I had was their facilities. There were no private offices and it was small. They have a bad location and even worse for taking test drives. The first two roads I went down turned out to not be paved. The main road it's on is so busy you won't get the real feel of the vehicle.

I drove 45 minutes to Skalnek to get a look at a used Edge that was listed online at at price $2,000 - $3,000 less than I'd seen similar models, years and mileages elsewhere. My current car was fine, I was just looking to see if I could get into something with AWD for a similar monthly payment. I told Doug, my salesman this, and he was great about making it happen. I LOVED the Edge I ended up buying, but was only willing to pay a certain monthly payment. I gave Doug my payment limit, and he and the manager made it happen, with friendliness the whole way. When the SYNC wouldn't match up with my phone at the dealership, he called a few days later to make sure it was working, and he even replaced my license plate when my old, beat-up one wouldn't come off. The prices at Skalnek were great, and I ended up with a newer car with many upgraded features for not much more per month than I'd been paying. They worked very hard to meet my budget. Great experience.

apparently i didn't realize the difference between the two phrases, "i will give you your payoff price for your trade" and "we will payoff your previous loan (and roll the difference into your new car" until it was too late. now they're selling our old car at a huge markup from what they paid for it instead of a reasonable markup if they would've just treated us fairly in the first place. very friendly people, but i will never buy a car from them again. this was just a little too sneaky for my taste...

I reached out to Ryan with what I thought would be an impossible request. Could he get me out of a bad leasing deal 17 months early and into a vehicle I would be happy with? Ryan is so kind and courteous. He helped me navigate the best option based on my needs. He promised me a quick signing process and he held true to his word. We were looking through cars.com for a newer vehicle for my wife. Found this nice silver Ford Focus after going through countless Kia, Hyundai, Chevy Cruze etc. She needs a smaller car, great on gas and get rid of the headaches of repair and out of warranty issues. Sent in the check availability email through cars.com and the very next day, Ted called. I told him that we will be over to look at it on Thursday. When we got there, Ted personally came out to greet us, showed us the car, I took it for a test drive. Couldn't get on the highway, too far from the dealer, but back roads through all the pot holes and lights. All seemed OK. My wife loved the car. We decided to deal. Ted was very patient with the whole process, making us feel at home. Finally the car was ours. He showed my wife every little gadget in the car before bidding us farewell. He even upgraded our CPO to the Premium A plan covering this Focus for the next 7 years or 100000 miles bumper to bumper. Which other dealer would upgrade a CPO to the bumper to bumper backed warranty? We thanked him and left. And any friend or family who is in need of a Ford vehicle, we will surely send them to Ted at Skalnek Ford of Lake Orion MI.

I recently leased a new Ford Escape from this dealership and I am so pleased with my vehicle and the sales process! I chose this dealership because the sales person, Ryan Marshall, who responded to my initial generic request for information on line was the only sales rep who offered me so many options right from the get go! I received other dealer responses but they seemed abrupt and not really interested. So I set the first appointment with Ryan and after a little back and forth negotiating all my requirements were met. Ryan did not give up until I had the car I wanted ( color and all options) at the mileage and monthly payment for my budget and a great trade in price for my old Ford. We recently bought a Ford Focus ST for our son. We had gone to 2 other Ford dealerships and after wasting our time we left. They always make promises and then make you sit while they figure it all out, they should not make promises they cannot keep. Anyways....after going to dinner at Kruse and Muirs (in Lake Orion) we saw Skalnek Ford. We called first thing in the morning and was given Donna Zaner as our salesperson. Donna did an outstanding job getting us the car we wanted. We told her exactly what we wanted. She didn't make any promises she couldn't keep. She will go above and beyond. I have been dealing with ford to repair my 07 Ford Taurus. After having brought it in for a trans service and asked for some other problems to be looked at I get a called to pick it up. after looking at my recipiet and called to confirm the trans service (the whole point of appointment) the trans services was never done! I asked service if we could reschedule for the trans service to be done I got nothing but attitude. I took my car to be dropped off and had told him that the other problem is still there ($400 in spark plugs and wires didn't fix) I was called back to.come and pick up my car and was tild trans service was done but due not having the same mechanic there (he would be out for a week) that I would have to bring my car back yet again! I scheduled another appointment did the drop off at night due to bad weather coming this morning I called mid day after told I'd.be called and they where just pulling it in and they would call me back I got a phone call back and said it would be about an hour and they would call me to pick up after 2 1/2 hours of not hearing anything I called back to.be told my car had been done and they called me to hear a message of my phone being shut off by Verizon (I don't have Verizon never have) I got my car picked up for the same problem to be there so now I am going to have to call and yet again make another appointment and be without a vehicle again! I am very disappointed I have been very patient up until this point. I am a single mother working trying to cancel and reschedule my daughter's and my doctors appointments due to my car being at the dealership and having to pay people to take me to work and other places while I keep taking my only vehicle so I can sit here and depend on other people to take me where I need to go because they can't find the problem with a vehicle that was made by them!!!! I am very disgusted to know yet again me and my daughter are going to be left without our vehicle yet again! I have seen many problems with food being a bad company to deal with and maybe they are right?

I had a good experience at Skalenk several years ago and decided to go back recently when it was time for another vehicle. I was really pleased with Ryan Marshall. He didn't just sell me a new car (something I said I would never buy) but he sold me on the Skalnek family. He was professional and personal. It was almost like I had my own personal broker. Even my husband ended up liking the guy and the service we got. On a whim, I went into Skalnek to speak with a salesperson in regards to turning in my Lease early... 18 months early. When I originally leased my Explorer, I went to Dorian Ford (will never return again due to shady salespeople and no regards to anything but making money and referrals) and lived 2 miles from my work. Due to loss of my job and the starting of a new position 50 miles from my house, the mileage was racking up fast on my lease. Before I went over, I wanted to know my options. A week later I was pulling out of the lot in a new purchase, no need to stress about the miles, and not needing to pay my way out of my lease. Thank you for turning a stressful situation into one that has built a lifelong customer.

My ford truck sat in there parking lot all day by the dumpster in the back lot literally all day and I called all day long to see if my truck was done and I took the chance and had my wife take me up there at 4:30 pm and there it was still I'm the same place and never once did they call and tell me they couldn't finish my truck after dropping it off on a Monday and now it's Friday. They did not get it done either so I have to take it back Monday the horrible thing is that I have to take it back to them or I have to pay another deductible even though it was their fault it didn't get done after they said they would on Monday that it would be done on Friday. Allen admitted that my truck sat back there all day long ... I don't understand why you wouldn't call me and tell me to come get it or get if fixed . The customer service sucks I've never been treated so badly before and I think it's horrible that lake orion has only one ford dealership to deal with because that one is awful

Easter Sunday my wife and I pulled into the Used Car lot. There were only two Van's on the lot, one of which my wife loved immediately. The following day I did the online quick approval. Lance called me back and we set up a time to meet that night once I was off work. The van was everything we hoped for. The price was right what we wanted. We finalized the deal after closing time. Drove home in the new van, and suddenly the passenger rear sliding door won't close (it's electronic). I called Lance that night, he said to bring it in the next day. My wife drives it in to get looked at. Jake the service representative lubricated the mechanisms of the door, but didn't fix anything. Now day two of owning this van, the same door won't close! I call Lance who says to bring it up again tomorrow. At this point I'm ready to return it for my old van. Very disgruntled. I was sold something that doesn't work.

I found our vehicle on this website; researched the fee Carfax, then looked at it on their website as well. Sent an email inquiry. It was a pre-owned, certified Ford vehicle, and I'd already test driven others of the same model, and after researching others of the same mileage and styles, realized haggling over the price wouldn't be worth it because it was already the best deal within 200 miles of my home. our salesman called me the morning after I sent the inquiry; I asked my questions and decided we wanted it. Rather than drive the 178 miles from my house to Lake Orion (I live in the Grand Rapids area), the salesman met us in Lansing, which is much closer for us than him, and we literally did the sale in a parking lot. I wouldn't recommend this for most, but because of the pre-owned, Ford-certified status of this vehicle, I was not worried at all. We've taken care of everything, and we LOVE the Ford that we bought from Skalnek. I would recommend them to anyone interested in a used (or new, even though ours wasn't) Ford vehicle, or anything else that they put their stamp on.

I was met by Ted Coons. Shopping for a Ford Escape, he quickly pulled the vehicle I wanted and allowed me to take a test drive. After driving it, I loved the vehicle! Upon returning I made a cash offer, no trade in, just a straight cash offer. He said my offer was way too low. I said ,"Ok, no hard feelings."I got up to leave. He said he could try and present it to his manager and began writing it up. While writing, he began lecturing me on how my offer would probably not work and was pushing hard for me to increase it. He wanted to know how I arrived at my offer. "My wife and I are committed to living debt free," I calmly explained, " and that's all I have saved for a car." After finishing the write up, he asked me to follow him across the parking lot to the main building so he could present the offer. While walking across, he continued lecturing about how little money he makes on each car he sells, and that he makes money by selling extended warranties. I listened calmly. Upon entering the building, I sat in the waiting room. There was another customer seated. Ted returned a few minutes later with some print outs. Raising his voice (the other customer looked up), he almost shouted, "You expect me to take that much less for this car?". Again I said that was all I had to offer and if it doesn't work, no hard feelings. He then loudly said, "I guess you don't want to buy this car!" I said, " I guess you don't want to sell it." I told him I didn't want to argue with him, that if my offer wouldn't work, it was ok, no harm no foul. He walked away. And I left. It's disappointing to be treated so unprofessionally. Rudeness does not sell cars. I hope Ted Coons receives needed sales training to avoid alienating future potential customers.

This certified used car we bought in September 2013 , two months ago, went in for an oil change and were we in for a surprise. There's an interior cabin filter that was plugged. Cost to Us $31.00. The front end was pulling to the side but we thought it was air pressure. Then we were told that the front end was out of alignment. Cost to us $69.00, We declined. They said we hit a pot hole. We never hit anything. Then we were told that the fuel injectors needed cleaning for $ 99.99. We declined. Ryan our salesperson lied to me 3 times when I asked if the vehicle was detailed. There was receipts, dog hair, sales slips, and candy wrappers from the previous owners. There was oil dripped all over the top of the engine. We took it back to be cleaned and the employees did it since it was slow, But as I already mentioned the internal filter was plugged . Never checked. Ryan said the 30,000 mile check up was completed. Another lie. Is a internal filter and making sure the wheels go straight important? Not to Skalnek Ford. Ryan was supposed to check into this and call back but never did.

Things which went well:- Worked with Ryan Marshall. Was a pleasant experience, and Ryan calls spade a spade. I can say that if not for Ryan I would have walked out without buying anything from there. I was given various options to get out of my leased Camaro and to buy a vehicle which my wife could also drive. Pleasant dealership environment. Less gimmicks, more doing things which matters for customers. Things which could have been better:- I would have liked a better Trade in offer but I am happy that I bought this vehicle. Also there was a huge delay in closing the transaction.

At Skalnek Ford I was met by Ted Coons, he had the car I called about near the front door when I arrived. I had driven nearly three hours and ask if we struck a deal could they get the paperwork done so I could take it with me and not have to return the next day, not only did they have it ready they helped me return my rental car an hour and a half round trip saving me a lot of time and miles. I would recommend Skalnek Ford based on my experience with them on this vehicle.

I knew it would be a challenge finding the right new Explorer I wanted to purchase. Of course for what ever reason you didn't have a "Limited" model on the lot. But I gave our sales person a of lot of the credit. Took a couple of tries but finally he was able to come up with the right model and equipment I desired. Job well done. The color I ended up with actually turned out to be a much better looking combination than I originally started with. Bottom line he made it happen! Extremely please with the car! Had to knock a star off for the lack of inventory on the lot, excellence service by Ryan. Knocked a star off on the buying process again more because it took almost a week start to delivery. And Mr. Skalnek, time to spend a few bucks on the old dealership, it needs up dating...........

We went into this dealership to price out a Ford Explorer for my wife. Kaycy came out onto the lot and gave us keys to one that they had there, and proceeded to let us know "this has 8 miles til empty so you'll have to keep your test drive short". Boy, what a nice first impression. We test drive the car, and bring it back, and proceed to tell Kaycy that we have a lease set to expire in Feb, and are pricing things out. She lets us know that they have a lease payoff incentive up to $1000 that can be applied. After that she gives us a rate quote for the vehicle, which wasn't terrible, however, that $1000 "incentive" is now applied to the bottom line, thereby negating any "incentive" we would get. She then pulls out an application and starts filling all of my wifes information in. I stopped her to let her know that we are pricing things out and are not prepared to walk out with a car today. She says "well you said the pricing was good, what are we waiting for?". Working in sales previously, this is absolutely the bottom feeders of the industry, the grimy, shady salesperson. I told her that I didn't appreciate how aggressive she was being, assuming the sale, and that we'd like to leave. She walks away and comes back a few minutes later, and disingenous apologizes for her aggressiveness then proceeds to give me a handshake that you'd expect fron Andre the Giant. Based on this experience, we will NEVER go back to this dealership, and will drive FURTHER to get this vehicle, just to ensure that she doesn't make a penny off of us.

Had an appointment for an oil change today (10/15/2012). I was informed my vehicle was parked right outside the service area. However my vehicle wasn't there. Went back in and informed them that my car wasn't parked outside. The tech. failed to park my vehicle in the desinated and the service advisor was assisting another customer so I had to go out back, behind the dealership to find my vehicle. Once I did find my vehicle the tech left the dirty plastic car seat cover along with the dirty floor mat in the vehicle. I will say its not the Service Advisors fault (she was the only good experience)but the fault of the tech and the serivce manager in his office for not coming out to help customers.

I was looking to buy a used car from Skalnek Ford, so I talked to a sale person about buying a 2005 300C. I give my information for a credit check over the phone Saturday evening and he was suppose to call me back Monday to let me know if I could get the car. Monday came and went and I never heard back from the guy. This is not a way to do business. Even if I couldn't get the car I would had still like to know. Not Cool!

Yet another great experience with this dealer. My fusion sunroof broke in the open position a couple of days ago as a storm was rolling in on my way home from work one morning. I called the service department and explained my situation. I was told to bring it right in and somebody would help me get it closed. They did not have time to make an appointment to get it fixed that day as they were booked up but the fact that they would take a few minutes out of their day to ensure my sunroof was closed on a rainy day made a world of difference. I tried asking the dealer in Rochester as I was passing them and was very rudely turned away in the rain. No matter what you need Skalnek is the place to be

Bought a used car from Skalnek, traded in a 1997 Explorer in March of 2010. In June of 2011 I recieve a letter from Sec of State my Explorer was found abanoned in Detroit in Sept 2010, note they sending me notice in June of 2011, but I would be responsible for storage fees, towing etc etc. Called Skalnek talked to Sales Mgr John I believe he told me to fax the court a copy of my title transfer. Called the court in Detroit and they said it was between me and the towing company. This is for a vehicle I TRADED in, called John back gave him towing company info and he also told me that the titles are not transferred until the vehicle finally is sold even though I traded it in and they whole saled it whatever, they never transferred it out of my name. I would NOT recommend this dealer or possible Ford if this is their policy of trade ins. By the way I did contact Ford corporate but they do not contact you back once a complaint is filed, makes no sense to me as far as customer relations.

I have gotten to know this dealership more than I probably have wanted to get to know my dealership in the past year and a half. I'd like to refer anybody reading this review to go read my last review for Huntington Ford for some background. I will NEVER return to Huntington Ford in Rochester Hills, even though I live in Rochester Hills. I came to Skalnek Ford looking for help. After Huntington lied to me and refused to stand behind their mistakes I was in need of a new vehicle. We were actually going to purchase 2 cars, totally around 40-50k. Huntington lost that deal over an $800 repair and their refusal to stand behind their product. We bought our first used 2007 Fusion from Skalnek in December of 2007 for a great price! Great service, car has been nothing but great since we bought it. I came back 3 weeks later to purchase the second, brand new 2010 Fusion. My plan was to buy an SE with a sunroof. I sat down and talked to Ryan Marshall, had my Explorer appraised ($2600ish at Huntington) I owed $6100 on it. Ryan was able to work out a deal to pay off my Explorer with NO negative! He also got to know me and my needs as a firefighter/paramedic. I depend on my vehicle 24/7 no matter the weather. He could see the uneasiness I had with a FWD Car coming out of a 4WD SUV. I just could not afford the beautiful Black SEL AWD Fusion outside.... or could I? Turns out Ryan was able to work a deal with my trade, getting me top dollar, all the rebates applicable, and a demo discount. The car was FANTASTIC! So I thought... Few weeks went by and I was in the body shop for some paint work I noticed was faulty. I was uneasy about this. I pulled in to the dealer, Skalnek Ford put me in a loaner and fixed my car within 2 days. I then took a vacation a few months later and came home to the car which had sat at the airport for a week in very cold temps. An airport shuttle pulled in front of me and I slammed on the brakes... nothing. I had no brakes. Pedal was hard as a rock. Luckily I was able to use my Ebrake to stop. I immediately took the car in. Long story short The car ended up having an unknown vacuum issue in the engine/braking system somewhere. The dealer as well as Ford engineers could not find the problem. I was without my Fusion for 42 days. Skalnek, and Ryan made sure I was taken care of. I had a loaner the entire time. Not only a loaner, but Ryan gave me his personal dealer car for the month. Ford also sent me a check for the amount of my car payment. After dealing with Huntington with my Explorer I was afraid I was going to have to go to court over this issue. I was getting paperwork ready to file, contacting a lawyer... and to my surprise Ford called me and told me that I was to contact Ryan Marshal about finding a new vehicle as Ford was replacing my car at no cost to me. I called Ryan and he immediately started looking for exactly what I wanted. Now I had MSRP to spend on a new vehicle. It was time to upgrade! Ryan searched for days and found exactly the car I wanted. A beautiful Red Sport AWD. Within days Ryan had my new car at Skalnek and had my trailer hitch swapped over and ready for me. It took me 2 days of paperwork to get the cars swapped. I sat at Ryan's desk, he took me to lunch, and we were on the phone taking care of it. He may not have made money on that deal, but I can guarantee he made money in the future off of that deal. I send any friend or family member looking for a new car to him. I will also only use Skalnek Ford for my needs. What a difference 15 minutes can make in drive time from Huntington to Skalnek!The service department is also TOP NOTCH at this dealer. Those 42 days were a long time to be without my car. Ron, as well as Scott, the service manager, called me at least every 3 days to update me on the status... even if it was to tell me nothing was new. That is what I call customer service. Even now when I go in for my oil changes I am greeted by name over a year later. Skalnek Service department stands behind their work and product more than any other dealer I have ever been to!Anybody looking for service, new or used car should head to Lake Orion and stop in at Skalnek... you'll see what I'm talking about in this review real quick.

Drove by on a whim to look at Escapes and happened to see a new Mustang GT Convertible on the lot. This was right at closing on Saturday. We went in and met Kaycy Dymond who did not hesitate to work with on the Mustang. We drove away a couple days later with a fair trade in and a great new car. We highly recommend Kaycy to anyone in the area looking for a car.

Ryan, my salesperson, is very knowledgeable and tries very hard to ensure my wife and I are satisfied customers. I'm sorry another poster here had a poor experience. I'm very confident this is not typical for Skalnek Ford.

My experience with Skalnek's service department was absolutely awful. I brought my 2006 vehicle into their service bay to get some electrical issues diagnosed. My vehicle was under a "bumper to bumper" warranty through Ford yet off the start I was required to sign off on a $92 diagnostic fee (just in case the problem was not covered by my "bumper to bumper" warranty). It turns out that my vehicle required a $767 part to be replaced. At this point, Skalnek informed me that the part was not covered under my "bumper to bumper" warranty, and I was going to have to pay them to send my car to a different dealer that had the capabilities of fixing the electrical issue. After taking some time to think about this I decided to request that my car be released since this dealership could not service the problems with my vehicle. The service department did not have a problem releasing the vehicle to me if I agreed to pay them $92 for diagnosing the problem that they admittedly could not fix. After some conversation regarding my past loyalty to their establishment, I was told that "someone has to pay the technician and it surely ain't gonna be me." The customer service level of Skalnek's service department is as bad as I have ever experienced. Myself and my family will not EVER give them our business again, and I urge any prospecting buyers to do the same.
